NARS Powermatte Lip Pigments: Call Me, Somebody to Love, Spin Me Reviews & Swatches
Call Me
NARS Call Me Powermatte Lip Pigment ($26.00 for 0.18 oz.) is a bright, medium pink-coral with warm undertones and a flat, matte finish. It had rich color coverage that applied evenly and smoothly across my lips and dried down to a mostly transfer-resistant finish (there was a smidgen of tackiness when I pressed my lips together, but the color did not lift up). The color stayed on well for six and a half hours and was non-drying.

Formula Overview
$26.00/0.18 oz. - $144.44 Per Ounce
The new formula is described as “liquefied pigments with infinite matte color saturation for lasting, weightless wear.” It’s supposed to have “full coverage in one swipe” that “dries down instantly” for “smudge-resistant, carefree wear.” The formula has a very fluid consistency that is thin, smooth, but not at all watery, and the majority of shades were nearly opaque or opaque in a single layer.
The dry down started quickly but was forgiving as I maneuvered around the edges of the lips but remained a bit tacky when I pressed my lips together for over a half hour later, though as long as I did not press my lips together until five minutes post-application, the color did not lift. I have found the wear to be comfortable so far–non-drying–but not the longest-wearing nor the most budge-proof in liquid lipstick, as just sipping water, tea, or coffee caused color to transfer onto my cups.
There was plenty of coverage, so it still lasted through drinking but did start to break down noticeably during a meal. Even just touching the color after a half hour of wearing it yielded color on my fingertips. The formula had a soft, vanilla scent but no discernible taste.

Somebody to Love
NARS Somebody to Love Powermatte Lip Pigment ($26.00 for 0.18 oz.) is a medium-dark, rosy plum with warm undertones and a mostly matte finish. This did not dry down to a fully matte finish (some shades in the formula do, some seem to take far longer to get to matte, as in hours, not minutes) for awhile. The consistency was lightweight, fluid, and spread evenly and smoothly across my lips with full color coverage in a single layer. The lip color was comfortable and had some stretch after it did its initial dry down (mostly matte, mostly transfer-resistant, but if I pressed my lips together, I could tell it was not fully set–it did not seem to lift up color, though). It lasted well for six hours and was neither drying nor hydrating on me.

Spin Me
NARS Spin Me Powermatte Lip Pigment ($26.00 for 0.18 oz.) is a deep, reddish burgundy with warmer undertones and a mostly matte finish. It had semi-opaque pigmentation that was very thin and almost watery, which made it harder to apply, especially around the edges as the color was too fluid. I also had some translucency, so I would recommend a second layer (more in places than across all of the lips) for better coverage. This shade stayed on nicely for seven hours and was non-drying.

My wish as I peruse this batch? That Call Me (because Blonde! Of course!) had the same, exact finish to it as Somebody To Love. Now, THAT would excite me!
I love a couple of these colors, but the formula looks like it would leave my lips dry and parched or at least looking like they were. I would have to add balm or gloss to be comfortable and since I can just buy a lipstick that is already a moist lip why go to the bother. They are lovely shades though.
I picked up Somebody to Love knowing it would lean warm, fearing it would turn orange on me. It’s actually really nice and will transition well into fall.
