Waiting Room
Melt Cosmetics Waiting Room Beetlejuice Pressed Pigment Palette ($58.00 for 0.62 oz.) is a new, limited edition palette that features four shimmery shades and six matte shades. The highlight of the palette was that a few shades were more unique, which made them more interesting.
Like Recently Deceased, I felt like there was unnecessary overlap (Obituary/No Exit andTombstone/Shrunken Head) that made the color story less versatile–you’d want to use those shades separately to get a lighter or darker look but combined, they tended to muddy easily. The shimmers were less consistent than the matte shades, while one shimmer–Juno–was designed to be a transparent wash, which it was, but did have a fair amount of fallout.
Per the brand, “Sawed Girl and Lydia pressed pigments contain ingredients that are not approved by the FDA and Melt Cosmetics for use on the eyes.”

Obituary
Obituary is a deep, reddened plum with subtle, warm undertones and a matte finish. The eyeshadow had rich color coverage in a single layer, which applied fairly evenly to bare skin but wasn’t as blendable as it could have been. The texture was slightly thinner and drier, and it did muddy very easily when combined with No Exit, so I’d suggest using it paired with the matte black for more depth if desired. It wore well for eight and a half hours before fading noticeably.

No Exit is a medium-dark burgundy with subtle, cool undertones and a mostly matte finish. It had opaque pigmentation with a soft, more velvety texture that had enough substance to apply evenly without being prone to sheering out. There was a little bit of powdery, so I’d recommend using a lighter hand to avoid fallout. It lasted nicely for eight and a half hours and left a faint stain behind.

Sawed Girl is a medium plum with subtle, warm undertones and faint flecks of violet micro-sparkle over a more metallic sheen. It was intensely pigmented with a smooth, lightly creamy texture that was still yielding so it was easy to pick up using a dry brush. The eyeshadow stayed on well for eight and a half hours before fading noticeably.

Juno is a light-medium, warmer pewter with a warmer base and cooler, chunkier silver sparkle. It was supposed to add a “transparent wash,” which was accurate–it had very sheer coverage when applied dry. It was able to get opaque coverage with a dampened brush, though the end result was fairly chunky and more visibly raised on my lid. There was moderate fallout when working with it dry, so I’d recommend patting it on with a fingertip or gently pressing (without blending it out) on. It lasted for six hours and had fallout over time.

Sandworm
Sandworm is a muted white with neutral-to-cool undertones and a matte finish. The eyeshadow had rich color payoff that adhered well to bare skin with light fallout, but the coverage remained opaque, which was nice to see. The consistency was smooth, lightly powdery, and more substantial. This shade stayed on nicely for eight hours before fading visibly.

This palette has a weird, limited colour story but I actually really like it because it’s thinking “out of the box.” I will try to pick this up when it comes to Sephora.
I’m actually liking this color scheme more than I want to! Not buying it, but wow, so much better than the other palette with the greens and purples. I’m loving the deep burgundies and Lydia the most.
Coming during an upsurge in Covid cases, the shade names creep me out enough to cross this one off my list.

The red you did on the inner corner is very cool. I feel like this should have been a 6-pan palette.

Dante’s Inferno and Lydia look amazing. Between the two palettes, I will likely purchase this one. I’m just bummed that Melt pulled a “natasha denona” and put dupes within a singular palette while asking for full price, you know?
I quite like Dante’s Inferno (nel mezzo del cammin di nostra vita – I still remember Ruth Draper’s “The Italian Lesson”) and I have a dupe in UD Wedge. But there is so much overlap and similarity of colours in this. And Juno – what a let down – I was hoping it would be beautiful and perfect.
Again lots and lots of duplicate shades here – but overall better quality than the other palette in the collection. My favourite shade was Dante’s Inferno.

Ooh this is a nice color story 💕I do like the purple and green palette color story better as I love the iconic Beetlejuice colors . But it looks like this one’s quality may be better.
I like it but it’s limited in variety of looks you can do. Grungy red and gray. I may pick this up.Love the Beetle Juice theme.
