Melt Cosmetics Amor Eterno Liquid Lipsticks Reviews & Swatches

Monarca
Melt Cosmetics Monarca Liquid Lipstick ($19.00 for 0.11 oz.) is a bright, medium orange with warm undertones and a flat, matte finish. It had nearly opaque pigmentation after it had dried down, which was a real surprise as it looked like an atrocity when initially applied. I pressed my lips together gently as it was drying down to try and even out the initial application, which was splotchy, and that actually seemed to work decently.
The texture was extremely thin and watery, so it just slid around and was difficult to apply precisely or evenly. The dry down was longer than the average liquid lipstick, but it did dry down to a transfer-proof finish. It was clingy, emphasized my lip texture, and fairly drying formula, so it was not something pleasant to apply or to wear. The color wore well for five hours.

Fiesta
Melt Cosmetics Fiesta Liquid Lipstick ($19.00 for 0.11 oz.) is a bright, medium-dark pink with subtle, warm undertones and a flat, matte finish. It had semi-opaque pigmentation in a single layer, which applied unevenly in places and I had to really press and push into place as it was drying down. The issue I had stemmed from how watery and runny the product was; so much product was on the applicator that it was difficult to control.
It had a longer dry down period, and after it developed some tackiness, I was able to press my lips together to get a more even layer of product, though the edges still looked streaky. It was slightly clingy, and while it lasted for five and a half hours, it was a moderately drying formula.

Mariachi
Melt Cosmetics Mariachi Liquid Lipstick ($19.00 for 0.11 oz.) is a deep purple with subtle, warmer undertones and cooler, violet shimmer, which gave it a slightly cooler tone overall. The texture was overly fluid, which made the product hard to control and to apply evenly as it just moved all over the place.
It took awhile to dry down, and while I tried to even out the color after it developed some tackiness, it did not even out fully. There was also some product that dried down in my lip lines. It had semi-opaque coverage at best, which stayed on well for four and a half hours before fading away unevenly. The formula was drying over time.

Wow, it’s too bad Mariachi is so awful. What an amazing shade!
Yikes, these are bad. Such lovely shades, too. They almost look painful to wear and look like they are on the verge of cracking and coming off in chunks. Thank you for taking another one for the team, Christine.
What a shame that these aren’t better. I really wanted to get Fiesta, but wear a gloss over it. Still may. But, I’m worried that it would clump up and peel off if I did.
Mariachi is a travesty! I would have LOVED getting this one had it been decent quality.
I wanted both the purple and the pink but maybe I’ll check out your dupes list . Too bad really pretty colors too .
It’s too bad Fiesta and Mariachi are such duds as I love those shades and they’re not so easily duped!
I bought Mariachi and while it is not the most even upon first application, I got a smooth and even look when I added a second layer. I’m such a purple lover and I could not pass up this almost electric shade. I haven’t tried it with a gloss yet, so that will be the next test.
