Marc Jacobs Beauty Flaming-Oh & How Rouge Le Marc Liquid Lip Crayons Reviews, Photos, Swatches
Flaming-Oh (330)
Marc Jacobs Beauty Flaming-Oh (330) Le Marc Liquid Lip Crayon ($26.00 for 0.07 oz.) is a medium-dark fuchsia pink with cool, blue undertones and fine, pink pearl. It had semi-opaque pigmentation in a single stroke, which applied fairly evenly, but the product had a lot of slip and pulled into my lip lines quite a bit. I also found that as it dried down, the product seemed to shrink and clump up in places. It lasted for eight hours on me and felt non-drying.

Formula Overview
$26.00/0.07 oz. - $371.43 Per Ounce
The formula is supposed to have "16-hour wear" with "one-swipe color" that has "ghost pearl" that gives it a "dimensional sheen." It is supposed to be a "liquid lipstick" but in a pencil form, so there is an actual dry down, though it seemed to take quite awhile to dry down on my arm (sometimes the swatch was still smudging after 30 minutes) and significantly less time applied to the lips (five to ten minutes). The texture was incredibly creamy where the pencil tip felt like it was melting as soon as I started to work with it (I might say that it was too soft). It was easy to apply product onto the lips, and the majority of the shades were nearly opaque to opaque in one layer. Some shades had a tendency to sit in my lip lines more than others. They felt lightweight after they dried down, and they were transfer-resistant until I ate. The wear time was eight to twelve hours, depending on how much eating was done. There was no scent or taste.

PPermanent. $26.00.
How Rouge (340)
Marc Jacobs Beauty How Rouge (340) Le Marc Liquid Lip Crayon ($26.00 for 0.07 oz.) is a bright, coral-red with barely-there red pearl. This was the least “shimmery” shade out of the range. The texture was creamy with a lot of slip, but it dried down to a mostly transfer-resistant, matte finish that felt very lightweight. It took about 10 minutes for this shade to dry down, and even after a half hour on my arm, it did not appear matte/dry. This shade had rich color payoff that went on evenly but slipped into my deeper lip lines as it dried down. It wore well for nine hours and felt neither drying nor hydrating.

I’m happy to hear that How Rouge wasn’t as clingy feeling as almost all of these have been! Especially since I’m a sucker for orange-reds, and this one is super pretty. Yet, I’m going to be reigning in my spending this upcoming year, so maybe 2019? ?
This whole issue is leaving me rather meh. Not really up to mjb’s par.
Argh.. I love me a pencil formula. The pearl in Flaming-Oh shade is so pretty. Your description makes it a reluctant no go.
I’m sorry you’re not liking these! You tend not to love Marc Jacobs’s lipsticks while I love them. I am a big fan of the Le Marc lipsticks as well (prefer them to Nars Audacious), and How Rouge just arrived for me today, and I am absolutely in love.
Applied at 2:30, and this lasted through eating a cinnamon sugar bagel with melted butter on it for lunch plus drinking a can of soda, drinking my water bottle throughout the day, plus dinner. It’s not transfer-proof, but aside from not looking sheeny and being a bit less than pristine in the middle it still ooks fantastic. After just the bagel, I thought I would need to reapply but it looked practically pristine – I was shocked! And no crusting or dryness at all, it feels just like a satin lipstick except there’s no real slip when I rub my lips together.
I hope people will give these a chance so they don’t disappear from counters. I would love for the shade range to be extended to less bold colors, since as much as How Rouge really suits my skin tone, the only other colors I think I’m really drawn to pick up are the two more nude shades.
