Debuting in-stores on September 10th, the new, limited life Viva Glam is here! The texture had a light creaminess to it, similar to more recent iterations of the matte formula, where there is a velvety, silicone-primer-esque slip to it, that makes easy to cover lips with rich, even color. It lasted for six and a half hours on me, and there was a reddish stain left behind, and the formula was slightly drying after four hours of wear (comparable to most of MAC’s matte shades). MAC’s Viva Glam program (here’s how Viva Glam works) is one of the best charitable efforts in beauty, as 100% of the selling price (not profits, not proceeds, 100% of the selling price) goes to to the MAC AIDS Fund. If this isn’t the shade for you, I highly recommend checking out one of their other Viva Glam lipsticks, as they all support a great cause.

It’s definitely got that orange vibe to it, but I think there is enough red in it that it’s not straight-up orange!

Your eyes look gorgeous! I have sooo many dupes for this and in no way need it. But, I always buy the Viva Glams for the cause. If it got a bad rating , I may think on it. But, even if this winds up in my daughter’s play stash, at least I know I my $ went to a good cause and my karma got a kick up.

It’s SUCH a great cause! I stopped covering the majority of “charitable” products in beauty because so few are indeed charitable, but VG is tops!

Love the color, love the finish, love the cause! I was going to get Lady Danger but I’ll just wait a few weeks for this instead.

Darn, I love buying Viva Glam but this seems so “done” to me. I wish it was at least a Frost finish to be a little bit different. I might still buy, who knows 🙂

There are certain celebs whose name/endorsement is, for me, a disincentive to purchase and Miley Cyrus is one on that very long list! Even if this weren’t a shade I don’t like, I wouldn’t buy it and I’d go with a dupe. My grumpy old age is showing!

Mariella, I definitely agree with you, Miley is just…yeah. Not a role model for youth, not a name I want to see on my tube of lipstick ( except the lipglass accompanying lipglass though!).

That is exactly how I felt about the first Miley release, but I did eventually cave and get it. Signature on tube aside, I’m glad I did, as I like the shade and I like the cause. I might not be a fan of her antics but I’m glad that the Viva Glam campaign is something so many DIFFERENT individuals and personalities can get behind. 😀

LOL Mariella: Count me as another grumpy old girl. Still, I love the cause irregardless of (put a few choice adjectives here) spokesperson. Thanks for the morning chuckle.

I can’t pull off this color, but glad it got an A rating, and kudos to MAC for their generosity. I wish they would come out with a color that’s a little more “universal”, as more people will buy, so they can raise even more money for the cause.

Do you have any from the permanent VGs? I feel like the original range (that is permanent) is pretty “wearable” under most definitions, but for sure, a lot of their limited life collabs have been bolder.

Eh, I didn’t even know MAC had some permanent Vive Glams, thought they were all LE. But I looked online and wow, those look a lot more wearable for me! I will definitely swatch next time I’m in store. Thanks for the tip!

I was totally thinking of getting lady danger finally or the urban decay matte colors in temper and tilt so this is perfect timing. Mac lipsticks are cheaper anyways and they last a long time on me. Even after eating or drinking I still have a nice stain left behind without using any kind of liner.

The color is gorgeous. However, I do already own Lady Danger and other orangy reds, plus it’s Miley Cyrus, so nope. Although I definitely am having much difficulty in resisting the Lipglass that came out with this, because it is not like anything else I have or seen around. On the other hand, I do buy other VG products that I love! Intend on getting VG I in September.

Ohh I cant wait to get my hands on this already! This looks like one of the top lippies that I’m gonna wear t a lot his fall right next to Living Legend!

I think I’m going to get this for myself! I was going in for a makeover next weekend but I think I’ll postpone it until this is available. I think it could work for a fall look, even though it’s bright. I have Mangrove which looks like it would be similar but it’s so drying! This isn’t a typical fall color and that’s what I like about it.

Too bad, it seems to be too orange for my pale skin and blonde hair. Wish it was more on the red side. Bot for many people out there… Definiely a nice colour! I’ll stick to VG Miley 1 🙂

I like it, I’ll probably buy it, it feels good to buy the Viva Glam lipsticks and glosses.
I guess this means I must buy Miley Cyrus Viva Glam (1) lipstick now, while I can. and a backup of the gloss. I love that gloss so much.

Not sure how I feel the color, but I love the cause. I’m sure eventually I can learn to make this color work for me. Either way, this will be added to my collection

I’m not a *fan* of Miley Cyrus AT ALL but this is a beautiful color and *so me* (even though I probably have dupes) and it goes towards a great cause, so I’m willing to spend for this lipstick, and the matching lipglass.

I’ve only got MAC lip liner suggestions but here they are:

Lip Pencil in “Redd, Brick or Cherry”
Prolongwear lip liner in “High Energy or What a Blast”
