MAC Shiny Pretty Things Dazzleliners Reviews & Swatches
A Little Moonlight
MAC A Little Moonlight Dazzleliner ($22.00 for 0.06 oz.) is a semi-sheer black base with larger silver sparkle and larger glitter. It had some larger particles to it, though they seemed to adhere well when applied on my lower lash line with the only fallout occurring if I attempted to blend/diffuse it after it had dried down. This worked best layered over other, deeper, more blackened eyeliners (like a true black) as the base color was still prominent enough that it made other shades look uneven if applied over light and mid-tone bases. It lasted well for nine hours on me (I tested it alone for wear).

Formula Overview
$22.00/0.06 oz. - $366.67 Per Ounce
The formula is a "top coat" that can be layered over your liquid liner or can be built up for "full drama" if desired. I think "top coat" is quite apt for these, as they absolutely work well for layering on top of other products, like liquid eyeliner, or to add a dose of sparkle with less base coverage. They have a shinier finish at dry down with moderate to heavy amounts of sparkle and glitter (depends on the shade). The consistency was quite thin and watery, and I found it difficult to pull the thin brush-style applicator in a fluid stroke and get even coverage out of it. The formula dried down quickly, so it wasn't prone to drying into my fine lines, and once it dried down, it locked into place well for nine to ten hour wear.

Statuesque
MAC Statuesque Dazzleliner ($22.00 for 0.06 oz.) is a bright, sparkling silver with fine pearl and larger sparkle. It had semi-sheer coverage that spread fairly evenly in a single, fluid stroke, but it was more watery in texture and was hard to control for a consistent thickness in the line, though. As a top coat, it was sufficient as the base seemed translucent and there was a good amount of shimmer/sparkle that translated when it was layered over other eyeliners. It dried down quickly and wore well for nine hours without fallout.

Holiday Time
MAC Holiday Time Dazzleliner ($22.00 for 0.06 oz.) is a sparkling, golden peach with lots of gold sparkle and pearl. It had a very sheer base, so it worked well for layering over all sorts of types of products from other liquid eyeliners to pencil eyeliners to eyeshadow. It had a watery consistency that made it hard to control it in a fluid stroke, but it dispersed the shimmer/sparkle fairly evenly overall. Once applied, it dried down quickly and stayed in place well for nine hours without fallout.

Midnight Toast
MAC Midnight Toast Dazzleliner ($22.00 for 0.06 oz.) is a blackened navy blue base with fine navy blue and mid-tone blue pearl. This one had a shinier, more metallic finish and the most coverage out of the four shades–nearly semi-opaque. It didn’t seem quite was watery, though it was thin and very fluid (again, a bit too fluid as it was harder to control). It applied best over other deep shades (like black eyeliner) to avoid any visible unevenness. It dried down quickly and lasted well for 10 hours without thinning, fading, or flaking.

Holiday Time looks gorgeous to use as a layering shade! I normally don’t like that much glitter, but this is gorgeous.
And Midnight Toast is exactly the type of navy I can get away with. The very watery formula is a deal-breaker for my hooded eyes, though. One blink is all it would take to ruin the whole look.
Lovely shades, especially Midnight Toast. Just love my navy shades.
I picked up Midnight Toast and Holiday Time and I am very happy with both. I use them over other shades so not necessary to have a completely opaque line for me but the blue in Midnight Toast is the perfect shade for me with my dark brown eyes. I haven’t tried them on the lower lash line but will have to give that a try. In general, I don’t wear anything on my lower lash line as I don’t have a lot of lashes and for some reason when I put liner there or any shade, it looks funny to me without the addition of mascara. Probably my own idiosyncrasy.
