MAC French Silk, Daddy's Girl, Tres Blase Love Me Lipsticks Reviews & Swatches
French Silk
MAC French Silk Love Me Lipstick ($19.00 for 0.1 oz.) is a bright pop of mid-tone coral with warmer undertones and a natural sheen. It had semi-opaque pigmentation that applied evenly for the most part. The texture was lightweight, thin without being clingy, and it applied without dragging on me. I had issues with the lipstick emphasizing imperfections in lip texture (despite exfoliating prior!), and there was a bit of product that sank into my lip lines. The color lasted nicely for four hours and was lightly moisturizing while worn.

Formula Overview
$23.00/0.1 oz. - $230.00 Per Ounce
The formula is supposed to have a "lighter-than-air texture" with "all-day moisturization" paired with "intense color and soft shine." They had semi-opaque to fully opaque color coverage in a single layer, and most of the shades applied evenly and smoothly to my lips without emphasizing lip texture or sinking noticeably into my lip lines.
The texture was very lightweight, lightly creamy without too much slip, yet there was a distinctive shine to the finish. The luminosity wore down within an hour or so of wear. The formula seemed like a cross between Amplified and Cremesheens, yet there was no tackiness, and the Love Me formula was much lighter and thinner (without being clingy). The wear has ranged from three to six hours and has been lightly to moderately hydrating. They had a sweet, vanilla scent (typical of the brand) but no discernible taste.

Daddy's Girl
MAC Daddy’s Girl Love Me Lipstick ($19.00 for 0.1 oz.) is a medium-dark pink with moderate, warmer undertones and a natural sheen. It had good pigmentation in a single layer, though the texture was less forgiving, so it appeared a bit uneven and has a tendency to sink into my lip lines while emphasizing imperfections in lip texture. The lipstick felt lightly creamy and smooth as it glided across my lips, and it didn’t have so much slip that it felt wet or slippery on, but it sure looked like it did. It wore well for four hours and was lightly hydrating over time.

Tres Blasé
MAC Tres Blasé Love Me Lipstick ($19.00 for 0.1 oz.) is a muted, medium pink with strong, warm undertones and a natural sheen. It had rich color coverage that adhered evenly and smoothly over my lips in a single, fluid stroke. The texture was lightweight, emollient without being too slippery nor too thin, and it was comfortable to apply and to wear. I didn’t have any issues with this accentuating lip texture, though there was a smidgen of product in my deeper lip lines–but thankfully, that wasn’t noticeable from a normal viewing distance. It stayed on well for four hours and was lightly moisturizing over time.

Tres Blasé is how I thought French Silk was going to look like on just going off the promo pics. On my lips, French Silk is a noticeably white based light-medium pinky coral, emphasizing every little line and imperfection unless I use lip liner over my lips underneath and lipgloss on top. It is a PITA and a pity. If it didn’t have Mary J Blige’s signature on it, I would exchange it for Tres Blasé! ?
I purchased French silk at the counter, I
Love it and Tres Blasé online, still waiting for it.
I am glad it got a good review.
Oh wow, Tres Blasé is pretty! I need another lipstick like I need a hole in my head but ?!!!!
What gorgeous every day lipsticks these are – they look quite comfortable to wear too.
I tried all the colors of these that I thought would work with my skin tones and found they all looked awful on me. One of the lighter, more natural ones turned almost red on me as soon as I swatched it. The rest were either too orange-y or too brown. 🙁
