Lethal Cosmetics Hertz, Cue, Phase, Threshold Side FX Gel Liners Reviews & Swatches
Hertz
Lethal Cosmetics Hertz Side FX Gel Liner ($15.50 for 0.17 oz.) is a deep, yellowy mustard with hints of warm, brown paired with a matte finish. The gel eyeliner had opaque color payoff in a single stroke, which applied evenly to my lash line and wasn’t prone to migrating or settling into fine lines. It dried down quickly, and it did seem to have such a matte finish that it emphasized my skin texture slightly, though not particularly noticeable from a normal viewing distance. It didn’t show signs of fading or wearing down after 10 hours of wear.

Formula Overview
$15.50/0.17 oz. - $91.18 Per Ounce
The formula is supposed to be "smudge- and water-proof" with "uncompromising intensity" that "does not budge." They have a very fluid, gel-like consistency that glides readily over skin with both finer, more angled liner brushes, fine-tipped brushes, and flat, synthetic brushes (more for applying as a cream eyeshadow or base).
They were intensely pigmented and delivered even coverage that was quick to set into place. They lasted for over 10 hours with minimal fading and no visible migration when I used them on my lower lash line, though there was a bit of emphasis on skin texture from the fully set dry-down.

Cue
Lethal Cosmetics Cue Side FX Gel Liner ($15.50 for 0.17 oz.) is a medium-dark red with neutral-to-warm undertones and a flat, matte finish. It was richly pigmented with a smooth, gel-like consistency that was fluid, not too thick or too then, and had excellent adhesion to the lash line.
The product applied evenly whether I used a finer-tipped or angled brush. The formula was quick to set into place, and once on, it seemed pretty much locked in place through the 10 hours I wore it for. For me, the only downside was that it emphasized skin texture a bit once it set.

Phase
Lethal Cosmetics Phase Side FX Gel Liner ($15.50 for 0.17 oz.) is a deep burgundy with cool, purplish undertones and a matte finish. This particular shade took longer to dry down compared to the other three I tried, but it did set to a transfer-proof finish within a minute. It had rich color payoff that applied evenly to my lash line, and I felt like this shade was a bit less prone to emphasizing my skin texture (which was already very minor) compared to other shades as well. There was barely visible fading after 10 hours of wear.

Threshold
Lethal Cosmetics Threshold Side FX Gel Liner ($15.50 for 0.17 oz.) is a medium-dark, bluish-teal with cool undertones and a matte finish. It was intensely pigmented with a smooth, fluid consistency that was gel-like, which gave it great glide, but it dried down quickly and stayed in place well. I noticed that the dry down seemed to emphasize my lash line texture a bit, though it wasn’t apparent from a normal viewing distance. It stayed on nicely for over 10 hours.

These are some rather different, less run of the mill type eye liners. I do kind of like Phase for a super rich, deep berry burgundy shade!
I love the Phase liner, but the shipping is $15.
Camera Ready Cosmetics carries Lethal Cosmetics now, including some of the Side FX Gel Liners – not these at the moment, but hopefully soon! CRC is US-based, so shipping should be better!
They all look lovely — how do you store them so they don’t get dried out fast though? I had some Bobbi brown ones and they always dry out before I even use 10% of them… š
I don’t really keep gel/cream eyeshadows much any more since I don’t return to them (or most products, but creams/liquids do have a shorter expiry than powder products) so this isn’t something I’ve noticed much myself. The closest I have is my brow pomade, which stays good for me for 1-2 years easily!
I didn’t realize how badly i needed a red eyeliner in my life and also how hard it is to find one that isn’t actually pink or magenta.
Even though I am not an eyeliner wearing person, I think these shades are excellent value. Phase is a stunning burgundy – very different from the average.
I just received Phase in the mail! I really wanted Threshold but I already have two teal gel liners lol. In any case, very happy these are A rated.
I like all of these, but Iām partial to Phase as it runs cooler than most burgundy eyeliners. It may have to go on the wishlist.
