Kat Von D Lovecraft, Malice, Miss Argentina Everlasting Liquid Lipsticks Reviews, Photos, Swatches
Lovecraft
Kat Von D Lovecraft Everlasting Liquid Lipstick ($20.00 for 0.22 fl. oz.) is a medium-dark, rosy mauve with subtle, cool undertones and a matte finish. It had rich, opaque pigmentation that applied evenly and smoothly across the lips. The consistency was thin without being watery, and it spread easily over the lips for even coverage. It dried down to a flat, matte finish that didn’t appear “cracked” when I smiled. This shade wore well for seven and a half hours and was lightly drying after six hours of wear.

Formula Overview

It is supposed to be a “long-wear, full coverage liquid lipstick with a smooth, matte finish.” Of the liquid lipsticks on the market that go and have a full dry-down, Kat Von D’s formula remains my favorite, as it is the easiest to apply with the kindest learning curve and lasts awhile.
Some shades are more drying than others, but typically they don’t get drying until after five to six hours of wear. They often wear anywhere from six to ten hours, depending on what you’ve had to eat or drink during the day. This formula is thin but not watery, has a longer dry down than most liquid lipsticks (but I noticed some of the newer shades dried to a mostly dry finish faster), and layers better than most (you can touch-up or add a second layer for more coverage).
It takes about a minute for it to mostly set, but it will remain a little tacky in places for up to three minutes so you’ll want to avoid pressing your lips together if it doesn’t seem totally dry initially. There isn’t a noticeable scent or taste. If you don’t mind the trade-off between very long, near-pristine wear and being drying, it’s worth checking out. As a bonus, these also come with one of the most generous amounts of products within the realm of liquid lipsticks!

Malice
Kat Von D Malice Everlasting Liquid Lipstick ($20.00 for 0.22 fl. oz.) is a bright, medium-dark orange with warm, red undertones and a matte finish. It had good pigmentation, but it wasn’t fully opaque in one layer, which was surprising given the type of shade (like reds, oranges are often quite pigmented). The texture was slightly thicker than average for the brand but spread evenly across the lips. It seemed to take longer to dry down, and it was a little tacky for longer, so I had a bit of color lift unexpectedly. This particular shade highlighted the lines on my lips after drying down, and it appeared “cracked” when I smiled. It wore well for seven hours and was non-drying but faded more strongly from the center first.

Miss Argentina
Kat Von D Miss Argentina Everlasting Liquid Lipstick ($20.00 for 0.22 fl. oz.) is a rich, deep berry with cool undertones and a matte finish. It had mostly opaque color coverage, but you could see my lip freckle peeking through with just one layer applied. If you like a lighter look, the translucency might work for you as the color still applied evenly across the lips, but if you wanted full coverage, a second layer would be necessary. The liquid lipstick was thin, a smidgen more fluid than I would prefer as it took more patience to get precise edges. This shade lasted for eight hours and left a stain behind, while the formula felt a bit drying after six hours of wear.

Ooh, Malice looks hot! Even though I’ve got MAC Morange, this one is very, very tempting to get!
So is Miss Argentina! However, in an online makeup group I’m in, someone bought Miss Argentina and also mentioned it feeling a bit drying, then she bought one of Wet N Wild Catsuit Liquid Lipsticks that wound up looking IDENTICAL to Miss Argentina, but not drying at all. I do love the actual shade a lot!
The finish would make it more different from Morange than not, though you might be able to cheat it with a little lip liner + blotting!
Is it bad that I love Miss Argentina purely because of its nod to Beetlejuice? The color is gorgeous, too!
No way ;D
I was thinking that as well it looked like the lipstick shade the character wore as well. But I think it was warmer. Still very bright against the green skin. lol
I’ve never seen anyone look so pretty in every single shade of all makeup as you do ….love these shades! love your blog! thanks for all of the info.
You’re too kind, Sherri! Thank you!!
I have the studded kiss Lovecraft, (thanks to my best friend! 😀 ) and it’s my exact lip colour, like, as I put it on I can’t tell where iv already applied!
I was going to get the ELL Lovecraft. But I’m really moving away from liquid lipstick. They wear off SO unflattering-ly, and get patchy, and Im a lip rubber, so I think I’m moving away from matte liquid lipsticks.
Now, you’d have to pry my ultra satin out of my hands though!
Ultra Satins are amazing 😀
Love the color of Miss Argentina!
It’s a bold one!
I’ve heard that Lovecraft is also similar to Stila’s Patina/Sephora’s Marvelous Mauve!
That is great to know!
Lovecraft is pretty pink!
It is!
Miss Argentina is the one of the new shade additions I’ve been eyeing.I also love the Beetlejuice reference!!
It’s a bold shade! 😀
I love this look on you! I definitely want to pick up the TF eye quad and the paridiso blush/lips. You look so springy and beautiful in these springy colors.
Aw, thanks again, Bella! 🙂
