Guerlain Electric Look All Eyes on You Palette Review & Swatches
Electric Look
Guerlain Electric Look All Eyes on You Palette ($80.00 for 0.80 oz.) is a new, limited edition palette featuring eight eyeshadows and two highlighters for the holidays. The formula can be used wet or dry, but they really offer little insight into the formula behind the palette. The majority of the products were pigmented applied dry, so using them damp usually amplified the finish or made them a little smoother but wasn’t strictly necessary for coverage/application. That being said, the mattes did NOT play well with a dampened brush, so I would advise being careful with using them with a dampened brushes–instead I recommend to pick up product, then gently spray your brush to wet it (or the back of your hand).

Electric Look #1
Electric Look #1 is a soft, pinky-peach with warm undertones and a sparkling, metallic finish. The texture was soft, more loosely-pressed in the pan, and it had an airy quality to it as well, so it blended very easily on my skin but did emphasize my skin texture a bit. It had semi-opaque, buildable pigmentation that stayed on well for eight hours on me.

Electric Look #2
Electric Look #2 is a medium gold with strong, warm yellow undertones and a metallic sheen. The pigmentation was opaque in a single layer, while the texture was soft, blendable, and lightly powdery in the pan but it was easy enough to work with. The powder did emphasize my skin texture just slightly. It wore nicely for eight hours on me before fading noticeably.

Electric Look #5
Electric Look #5 is a medium, orange-brown with strong, warm undertones and a mostly matte finish. The eyeshadow had medium, buildable pigmentation with a soft, lightly dusty consistency that had some fallout if I wasn’t careful to pat and press it onto my lid area prior to blending out the edges. This shade did not apply well dampened, as it seemed to clump up, go on unevenly, and was pretty much a terrible eyeshadow used that way! It wore well for seven and a half hours on me before fading noticeably.

Electric Look #6
Electric Look #6 is a soft, medium bronze with warm undertones and a metallic sheen. The texture was more loosely-pressed, which gave it a slightly drier look, though it seemed rather finely-milled and applied quite smoothly to my lid when I pressed and patted it onto the area. It had good pigmentation that “melted” slightly onto the lid giving it a better finish applied after a few minutes. It stayed on nicely for eight hours on me.

Electric Look #8
Electric Look #8 is a medium-dark green with subtle, cool undertones and a satin finish. The consistency was more powdery and prone to sheering out when applied to my lid, and there was some fallout when I tried to build the coverage back up so I would only recommend using this with a good base. I did not find it worked well with a wet application as the more matte finish seemed to become uneven and patchy–it might be okay for lining but not so much as an eyeshadow. It wore well for seven hours on me before fading visibly.

Electric Look #9
Electric Look #9 is a deep purple with warm undertones and a satin sheen. It had nearly opaque pigmentation that applied evenly to bare skin and blended out easily along the edges. The texture was soft, a touch dusty in the pan, but it sat well on my skin. This shade stayed on nicely for eight hours before it started to fade on my lid.

Electric Look #10
Electric Look #10 is a rich gold with warm, bronzy undertones and a metallic sheen. The color payoff was excelelnt, while the eyeshadow had a soft, lightly creamy texture that was smooth and easy to work with. It had the best texture out of all of the eyeshadows in the palette. It lasted for just over eight hours on me before creasing faintly.

Pretty, but two dud shades is too many at this price point.
Not *horrible* perse, but nothing compared to the stellar quality of Pat McGrath or Viseart, either. I think I like the cheek highlighters better than most of the eyeshadows in this.
This is probably the most interesting and better quality eyeshadow/cheek combination that Guerlain has released in quite awhile. The disappointment for me is that lovely Jade green shade being of poorer quality than the rest of the palette. The shade selection is a versatile one and I do like the cheek highlighter shades too.
Why does this product only have a 6 month shelf life? Thatās really short
Nope, just got my LE Meteorites from the winter release but not picking up anything else. I also ordered the LE Meteorites from Japan which are different than the US release. I really hate when companies do that but since I have collected the LE Meteorites for a long time I will still pick them up each year.
With all the wonderful products out there in the market, this just seems so unexciting. I guess if it matters to you to have “Guerlain” on your products, this might interest you but to me, it’s just an odd looking pairing of not every inspiring products.
When I first saw this I thought it looked interesting. Seeing the review Iām underwhelmed especially the green which is the star of the show.
Honestly the shades remind me a lot of the warm palette that’s in Lanome’s beauty box this year. Guerlain can do so much better when it comes to product and packaging.
I really like the idea behind this palette, color-wise. A shame about the wear and texture. If I didn’t have an enormous stash and was in the market for a palette with light-medium warm neutrals and pops of color, I’d consider this if it were about $65 cheaper. :-/
Swiped this over the weekend and thought it felt like old school frost eye shadows (dry), so I definitely wouldn’t consider this set. Also, reminds me of a lesser pigmented versus of Nars’ Man Ray Eye Shadow palette.
