Fenty Beauty In Big Truffle, Bachelor Pad, Black Card, Cuz I'm Black Flypencil Eyeliners Reviews & Swatches
In Big Truffle
Fenty Beauty In Big Truffle Flypencil Longwear Eyeliner ($22.00 for 0.01 oz.) is a deep brown with subtle,w arm undertones and a matte finish. It had semi-opaque pigmentation in one pass, which was buildable to nearly opaque coverage with a second layer. The pencil had a smooth, lightly creamy texture that glided easily across my skin without tugging but was quick to set so it didn’t migrate into fine lines. It wore well for seven and a half hours on my lower water line and nine and a half hours on my lower lash line.

Formula Overview
$22.00/0.01 oz. - $2200.00 Per Ounce
The formula is supposed to have "smudge-resistant, water-resistant longwear" with a "creamy" consistency and "hyper-pigmented" coverage. They lasted between four and eight hours on my lower waterline and eight to nine hours with minimal fading/movement on my lower lash line for the most part; they did not seem to be marketed for waterline usage, so longevity ratings are based on lasting power on my lower lash line. I found that the shimmer shades moved the least over time, while they were the ones that adhered least to my waterline compared to the matte shades.
The texture was smooth, creamy, and comfortable to work with on my waterline as well as my lower lash line as it the pencils did not tug. There's not a lot of time for smudging, so you'll want to work quickly and one eye at a time if that's something you'd like to do with the liner.
The pigmentation varied from shade to shade with most shades having somewhere between medium (but buildable) to opaque coverage. There were a few shades that applied best with short, overlapping strokes to get the most even, intense coverage. The creamier texture coupled with the liner's quick drydown meant that a second layer was best applied after the first layer dried down; some of the creamier shades (like Sea About It) layered poorly otherwise.
Warning: once twisted up, the pencil doesn't twist back into the holder, so make sure you don't twist more product than necessary out. I also found that some of the creamier shades could break when applied--I had this occur on the following shades during swatching: Bachelor Pad, In Big Truffle, and Sea About It and had it occur during application (to my lower lash line) with She a Problem.

Bachelor Pad
Fenty Beauty Bachelor Pad Flypencil Longwear Eyeliner ($22.00 for 0.01 oz.) is a deep gray with cooler undertones and a matte finish. It had medium coverage applied in one layer, which was buildable to nearly opaque coverage with a second layer; it needed to be built up to get closer to the true color, too, or else it looked like a more washed out black (without the bluish-gray hue).
The texture was smooth, lightly creamy, and comfortable to work with on my water line as well as my lower lash line. When I used short, overlapping strokes on my lash line (in practice), it seemed to go on more evenly than when I attempted to build it up for the swatch photo. It stayed on my lower water line for seven hours and my lower lash line for nine hours well.

Black Card
Fenty Beauty Black Card Flypencil Longwear Eyeliner ($22.00 for 0.01 oz.) is a deep black with neutral-to-cool undertones and flecks of silver sparkle throughout. It had semi-sheer color payoff when applied initially, and it was buildable to nearly opaque coverage with two to three layers.
When I worked with it on my lower lash line, I applied in shorter, more overlapping strokes, which yielded good coverage. The texture seemed slightly more emollient compared to most shades in the range, but it was still quick to set and didn’t migrate as it did so–it was actually fast enough that it was hard to smudge (and this one would have benefited from smudging). The eyeliner lasted well for seven hours on my lower water line and nine hours on my lower lash line.

Cuz I'm Black
Fenty Beauty Cuz I’m Black Flypencil Longwear Eyeliner ($22.00 for 0.01 oz.) is a deep black with neutral undertones and a matte finish. The consistency was a smidgen drier compared to most shades in the range, though it still glided across my skin with ease and never tugged on my lash line.
It had nearly opaque pigmentation in a single layer, which applied fairly evenly to my lash line in practice (hard to tell whether something is uneven when the line is so thin in person — the close-up photo is magnified in comparison!). This shade wore well for seven hours on my lower water line and nine and a half hours on my lower lash line.

as odd as it sounds, Black Card is actually almost spot on for the color/texture of the black AmEx! ?
I’d be afraid to put an eyeliner with flecks of sparkle on my waterline. Are the sparkles potentially dangerous to the eye?
It doesn’t consider plastic glitter, but anything foreign getting into the eye could cause damage – you can rub your eye and scratch your cornea even.
Black Card is so beautiful that I’d be willing to work with it. It looks like a liquid black vinyl! This could be (almost) perfect as a lower lashline liner for me.
I really like Black Card but would be scared of it migrating on my lower lash line. I don’t think I would wear it on my water line or upper lid for fear of flakes dropping into my eyes. I know it didn’t migrate for you, Christine but the way my under eye is shaped, most liners migrate. I may give it a try, though, as I do really like it.
I love the blue tinge to Bachelor Pad.
It’s that matte finish on these that is making me say Nope – and the use of glitter is offputting.
As a black woman, “Cuz I’m Black” is one of my favorite shade names from Fenty Beauty – so fun 🙂
