Fenty Beauty Cool Neutrals (2) Snap Shadows Eyeshadow Palette Review & Swatches
Cool Neutrals (2)
Fenty Beauty Cool Neutrals (2) Snap Shadows Mix & Match Eyeshadow Palette ($25.00 for 0.21 oz.) is a new, permanent palette that features three shimmer shades and three matte shades in a “cooler” color story. I’d argue that three shades were more muted but still warmer, though. Fenty’s matte eyeshadows perform decently–buildable and/or pigmented, blendable, and have decent wear–but find the shimmers to be more inconsistent. Hey Aunty was very weak and could have easily been replaced with something else if that’s the best they could do for a blue-based purple.

U There
U There is a soft, light-medium pink with strong, warm undertones and a frosted sheen. The eyeshadow had opaque pigmentation that adhered evenly to bare skin and blended out well, though I felt like it lost some of its shimmer/sheen once applied. The consistency was dense without being stiff, so it wasn’t powdery but picked up well with a brush. It lasted nicely for seven and a half hours before fading noticeably.

Formula Overview
-
The formula is supposed to have "rich, blendable color" that is available in "matte, shimmer, and glitter long-wear finishes." There were a few distinctive formulas used throughout the palettes in which the eyeshadows are housed, but generally, they were decent eyeshadows that were buildable, fairly blendable, and had decent wear, but I felt like most of the shimmers were thin, a little dusty, and had a tendency to look less shimmery once applied (almost a faded quality to them).
The matte formula was most consistent and had semi-opaque to opaque color coverage that went on fairly evenly and blended out without too much effort, though some deeper shades took longer to diffuse or went on patchily initially and had to be diffused and blended out to a more even application. The wear ranged from seven to eight hours on me before they showed signs of fading.
The shimmer formula was typically thin, dusty, and more prone to sheering out or looking somewhat "faded" and less shimmery after a few minutes on my lid. There were a few shades that seemed to have a denser, thicker formulation that offered greater intensity in its shimmer finish but had light fallout and looked thicker on the lid, so they did not layer as well with the other shades (which were thinner). The wear ranged from six to eight hours before fading.
The glitters had a gritty feel to them, as one might expect of a glitter-packed product, with decent spreadability. The wear ranged from seven to eight hours with light to moderate fallout.

Uppaclass is a light-medium pink with warm undertones and a bright, metallic sheen. It had rich color coverage with a soft, lightly powdery texture that seemed to “melt” on my skin after initial application. The product blended out easily and lasted well for eight hours before showing signs of fading.

It had intense pigmentation that adhered evenly to bare skin and wore well for eight hours before fading a bit.

Hey Aunty
Hey Aunty is a brighter, light-medium bluish-purple with cooler undertones and a satin finish. It had semi-opaque coverage that applied lighter and less shimmery compared to how it appeared in the pan.
I found the texture thin but fairly silicone-heavy, so it had a lot of slip and was difficult to apply evenly with a brush. It was easiest to apply with a fingertip or a sponge-tipped applicator, which picked up product and deposited it more intensely to bare skin. I felt like it was harder to work with over primer than bare skin, actually. It showed signs of fading after seven hours of wear.

Risky Richez
Risky Richez is a light-medium, golden taupe with muted, warm undertones and a frosted finish. It had opaque pigmentation in a single layer, which applied evenly to bare skin and blended out without difficulty. The consistency was soft, not too firmly nor too softly pressed in the pan, so it was easy to work with. There was a little bit of powderiness, so I’d recommend using a lighter hand to pick up product initially. It lasted nicely for eight hours before fading visibly.

Gettin' Toasty
Getting’ Toasty is a darker taupe-brown with neutral-to-cool undertones and a matte finish. It had buildable pigmentation from medium to mostly opaque (two to three layers) with a soft, lightly dusty texture that didn’t have too much excess product that kicked up in the pan, and I didn’t have issues with fallout during application. The eyeshadow applied fairly evenly and blended out without too much effort. It wore well for seven and a half hours before fading noticeably.

It’s not terrible, yet it’s not blowing me away, either. Hey Aunty is a very poorly pigmented purple, and I know she can do better than this. I’m not sold on this palette.
I quite agree with you Christine – this palette isn’t a true cool neutrals at all, not with the inclusion of those pink shades (and two of them in a 6 pan). Even the dusty mauve shade was quite warmish.
The hero shade of the piece, the purplish blue shimmer, was really disappointing.
The only shade I loved was the taupe Risky Richez.
I’m also shaking my head over the “cool neutrals” name of this. Some pretty poor performers as well. I love Risky Richez but have 2 dupes, as well as a good quality dupe for Gettin’ Toasty – it’s just not worth buying this palette for one good shadow and one not so great one.
How disappointing that purple is. That makes it a solid “no” for me. Even at $25, I don’t like the idea of one shade out of 6 being almost unusable. I want my purples to be good ones.
A gold in a cool-toned palette? Groundbreaking.
How disappointing.
On me this palette is soo much cooler. It looked more neutral when I swatched it. But on eyes it turned into something different. Risky shade looks almost grey on me. Taupey-mauve matte is the nicest shade in the palette, in my opinion. I used light pink with purple and taupe together, makes a lovely spring look, but I can’t use Risky and dark matte..they just turn my look into grey mess:/
There were two maybes for me of the 6 pans; this was one. I passed on the collection. Iām glad.
This was the palette I was most interested in with the Snap palettes and I’ll be passing. While the color story interests me a lot (I love royal purples and taupes), the execution just isn’t there.
