Estee Lauder Deep Secret & Demand Pure Color Matte Lipsticks Reviews & Swatches
Deep Secret
Estee Lauder Deep Secret Pure Color Matte Sculpting Lipstick ($32.00 for 0.12 oz.) is a deep burgundy with cooler undertones and a satin finish. It was less of a true matte until an hour or two into wear, which was when the light sheen seemed to fade away. I also felt like there was a hint of very fine shimmer that ran through it.
It had good color coverage in a single layer, but didn’t apply as evenly as I would have liked–not bad and from a distance, I think it looked just fine–but at least it didn’t sink into my lip lines over time. The consistency was smooth, more of a dense, velvety formula that glided on without feeling slippery or wet. It stayed on well for five hours, left a stain behind, and felt lightly hydrating over time.

Formula Overview
$32.00/0.12 oz. - $266.67 Per Ounce
The formula is supposed to have "rich saturated color" that gives lips a "bolder, visibly fuller, defined" result with a matte finish. Most shades had semi-opaque coverage or higher, and the semi-opaque shades often could be built up to full coverage with a second layer.
The texture felt more velvety and smooth--silicone-like in that respect--but there were a few shades that felt more traditionally creamy, and as a result, had more of a sheen for the first hour or two of wear. Only a few shades seemed more matte to semi-matte but most had a satin finish, so if you prefer a very flat, matte finish, this line doesn't yield that.
The consistency is slightly thicker, though not heavy to wear, but I found that this sometimes led to color separating around or sinking into lip lines, which was often less visible (or not at all visible) in person. They lasted between four and six hours and were lightly hydrating. They had a sweet vanilla scent but no discernible taste.

Demand
Estee Lauder Demand Pure Color Matte Sculpting Lipstick ($32.00 for 0.12 oz.) is a rich, medium-dark red with warmer undertones and a semi-matte finish. It had nearly opaque color payoff that adhered evenly and smoothly across my lips without tugging during application.
The lipstick had a lightweight, more velvety texture that glided on readily but didn’t feel traditionally emollient or slippery, so it stayed in place better. There was a smidgen of product that sank into my deeper lip lines, which was visible in the close-up but not something I could detect in person. It wore nicely for six hours, left a stain behind, and felt lightly moisturizing while worn.

Deep Secret is a perfectly vampy lipstick shade, whilst Demand is an all round stylish red.
Both shades look rich and velvety smooth. Deep Secret is a difficult shade for brands to get right, too.
Deep Secret calls for me.
