ColourPop You're Golden Mega Eyeshadow Palette Review & Swatches
You're Golden
ColourPop You’re Golden 30-Pan Shadow Palette ($34.00 for 0.92 oz.) is a new, mega-sized eyeshadow palette that included 14 matte shades, 12 shimmer shades, three sparkle matte shades, and one pressed glitter shade. The majority of the shades had mostly opaque to opaque color coverage and lasted between seven and eight hours. There were some shades that were more powdery in the pan or more prone to fallout during application or later on during wear.

PCH
PCH is a brighter, medium peach with moderate, warm undertones and a matte finish. It had opaque color coverage, though the texture was somewhat powdery so there was some sheerness in practice. It wore well for seven and a half hours before fading visibly.

Formula Overview
$4.50/0.05 oz. - $90.00 Per Ounce
The new Pressed Powder Shadow formula is supposed to be “highly pigmented” with an “ultra-velvety and silky” texture that is “long-wearing” and “adheres easily to the eyes.” Most of the shades have semi-opaque to opaque pigmentation that applies well to bare skin, blends out without issue, and lasts for seven to eight hours.
The matte eyeshadows tend to be a little more powdery, though soft and finely-milled, in the pan, while the shimmers have a creamier, dense consistency. Occasionally, the more sparkly or metallic shades apply better with fingertips or a dampened brush.

Jet Set
Jet Set is a light beige with moderate, warm undertones and a sparkling, metallic finish. The texture was soft, smooth, and lightly emollient, which helped the sparkles adhere to bare skin along with the opaque base. It stayed on well for eight hours before fading a bit.

Rum Season
Rum Season has a transparent base chocked full of small iridescent glitter particles. It had semi-sheer color coverage at best, and it could have distributed more evenly. The texture felt emollient and almost wet to the touch, as consistent with the brand’s pressed glitters. This shade contained plastic (PET) glitter and was not intended for use on the eye area. I tested wear as a highlighter, and there was some glitter migration present after eight hours of wear.

Salty
Salty is a soft peach with moderate, warm undertones and a sparkling, metallic finish. It had semi-sheer to medium pigmentation that was best applied with a fingertip or a dampened brush, which improved opacity but also ensured the eyeshadow applied more evenly. The texture was soft, somewhat drier, and more loosely-pressed. It stayed on decently for seven and a half hours on me.

Covet is a light, golden brown with moderate, warm undertones and a matte finish. The consistency was lightly powdery, though it was more velvety and substantial, so while there was light fallout when applied and blended out, it still yielded full coverage. It wore well for seven and a half hours before fading visibly.

On Ice
On Ice is a medium gold with strong, warm undertones and a frosted finish. The texture was more loosely-pressed and drier, which resulted in some fallout during application. It had mostly opaque pigmentation, but I would apply it using a fingertip or a dampened brush to help the product apply evenly and to minimize fallout. It lasted well for eight hours before fading a bit.

Cruise
Cruise is a medium-dark beige with soft, warm undertones and a matte finish. I found this shade was more reactive to any natural oils on my skin, which resulted in the product going on a little uneven in color, so it would be better over a drier eyeshadow base. The texture was soft, somewhat powdery but blendable and not too prone to fallout. It had opaque pigmentation that stayed on nicely for eight hours before fading noticeably.

It was richly pigmented with a smooth, velvety consistency that was a little powdery in the pan but not apparent on the lid, as the product went on evenly and blended out well along the edges. It lasted nicely for eight hours before fading noticeably.

Bayshore is a vivid, molten gold with strong, warm orange undertones and a metallic finish. The eyeshadow had opaque pigmentation in a single layer, which applied evenly to bare skin and blended out well. The texture was soft, smooth, and lightly emollient without being too dense or too firmly-pressed into the pan. It wore well for eight hours before fading visibly.

Suns Out
Suns Out is a very light, bluish-aqua with warmer, green-gold shimmer. It had a drier consistency with chunkier shimmer particles, so it was more prone to emphasizing skin texture. I had a smoother, more even result when applying it with a fingertip or a dampened brush as this helped to bind everything together better. It stayed on well for seven and a half hours on me.

Fling (You're Golden)
Fling (You’re Golden) is a deep brown with neutral-to-cool undertones and flecks of gold micro-sparkle over a matte finish. The sparkles did not translate much when applied, other than in the form of fallout. The texture was soft, blendable, and lightly powdery, while the base color was nearly opaque and buildable from there. It lasted well for seven and a half hours before fading visibly.

I admit I was considering this one, but then I took into account how little I use the CP palettes I have and I decided to pass. It’s not a formula that works well for me.
Ditto Wednesday. I barely touch my CP palettes anymore.
I can’t believe you tested 30 shades, Christine! Your poor eyelids…
I already knew I definitely didn’t need this so it’s an easy pass for me but I feel like some of those shimmers…seem a little more lackluster than usual
Overall, I’d say this is quite a nice palette! I think it would be a really good one for someone who loves mostly neutral shades, but is either just starting out or all over again.
What a mammoth palette for you to test Christine! It could have been halved as there were quite a few similar shades and certainly many the brand has done before.
As per usual for CP these days, it was a mixed bag of results: the good, the bad and the ugly (PET glitter).
The only interesting shade for me was Daydreamer.
I know! These mega palettes are rough, lol!
