ColourPop You Had Me at Hello Pressed Shadow Palette Review, Photos, Swatches
You Had Me at Hello
ColourPop You Had Me at Hello 12-Pan Pressed Shadow Palette ($18.00 for 0.47 oz.) is a slightly muted, warm-toned neutral palette with a mix of gold, copper, brown, and berry. If your stash happens to be missing these types of shades and you’ve been looking for them, this is not a bad way to get your fill. Only one of the 12 shades was a bit of a miss (Candygram), which could be improved by using it over a tacky base or using a fingertip or a dampened brush to apply.

The Knot
The Knot is a light, pinky peach with warm undertones and a metallic sheen. It had good pigmentation that applied evenly to bare skin and blended out nicely. The texture was soft, smooth, and a bit dense but not too difficult to pickup with a brush. This shade wore well for eight hours on me.

The new Pressed Powder Shadow formula is supposed to be āhighly pigmentedā with an āultra-velvety and silkyā texture that is ālong-wearingā and āadheres easily to the eyes.ā Most of the shades have semi-opaque to opaque pigmentation that applies well to bare skin, blends out without issue, and lasts for seven to eight hours.
The matte eyeshadows tend to be a little more powdery, though soft and finely-milled, in the pan, while the shimmers have a creamier, dense consistency. Occasionally, the more sparkly or metallic shades apply better with fingertips or a dampened brush.

Candygram
Candygram is a dark pink with subtle, warm undertones and copper shimmer and larger sparkle. The consistency was more loosely pressed and the larger sparkle made it feel a bit chunky and dry as the large particles pulled away from the finer powder base. There was a lot of fallout during application and some during the seven and a half hour wear.

DTR
PiPPermanent in Palette. $4.50.
Sparks Fly
Sparks Fly is a deep, reddish brown with subtle, warm undertones and a matte finish. The color payoff was completely opaque in a single layer, while the texture was soft, slightly powdery in the pan, but it was dense enough to hold up to packing on the lid without appearing patchy or uneven. It lasted for eight and a half hours on me before fading noticeably.

Just ordered it two days ago! Not exactly a dupe, but it seems to have a similar feel to CR’s Queen of Hearts… or is it just me? Used to have that one, but it got lost in travel.
I was thinking that same thing!
Sad that Candygram was a c+ š
This is lovely. I like it better than the new NARS one (which is very pretty!) at any rate… more shade variation and significantly more affordable… I have a feeling that their 12 and 15 pan palettes will become big sellers for Colourpop.
Wow, these swatches look great! So glad I ordered this (and a few other palettes) Friday on their sale.
Love this one — warm but not overly so, and not too dark. Gorgeous eye look you created, Christine!
This is the only palette I’ve bought all year! I’m very picky and won’t buy palettes unless I know I’ll use every color. This one definitely met the mark. I love it!
There is something about this palette that is making it a very attractive purchase for me I’d how balanced the pinky shades vs the warmer neutrals play off each other! That I can instantly put looks together just looking at it makes this a “yes”.
When Colour Pop came out with their first 16 pan and it was a version of a gorgeous palette made better by eliminating most of the brown I was so hopeful that they would go against the must-have-brown-in-every-palette trend. Instead, they’ve gone brown all over!
CP does such good work, virtually always. Very reliable. This one is cohesive at the same time lends itself to a variety of looks. One dud? So what? Even the browns are attractive; never thought iād say that! And the price is always right. CPs depot easily, too. Might just have to…
When I first saw this yesterday, my initial reaction was “Nooooo – not ANOTHER palette”, so if I’m feeling this way just seeing them all, I can’t imagine what it’s like for Christine to have to test them, describe them, write about them in the great detail she does. I think it was Nancy T who said she was “paletted out”, and I know what she means….and this is almost solely from an “observer” standpoint. Christine deserves a medal (and a testing-free holiday!).
ColourPop can put out more palettes – they’re at least very affordable and overall, pretty good quality, and there are a lot of people out there that can’t indulge in a $50+ palette!
Sephora is carrying a very limited selection of ColourPop products….I wish they had the full range so I could check them out. I’ve been reading about them here for a few years now and I’ve seen some great stuff and the prices are pretty terrific (as is the spelling!). But there’s such a small selection at Sephora and I think it might be “online only” or certainly not at a store near to where i live.
