Wanted

NARS Wanted NARSissist Eyeshadow Palette ($59.00 for 0.48 oz.) is a new, limited edition palette available exclusively at Sephora and NARS. The palette launches officially on 11/29 on NARS and 12/4 on Sephora but will be available for one-day early access on 11/27 at Sephora. Per the brand, the palette features an “all-new pure pigment formula [that] delivers the richest, most intense color payoff in just one stroke.” Worth noting was that there were several more sparkly, metallic shades, which would be best used with fingertips, over a lightly tacky base, or with a dampened brush rather than dry as they had some fallout and did not have “one stroke” pigmentation.

Biarritz

Biarritz is a light beige with neutrla undertones and a matte finish. It had a soft, somewhat powdery consistency that applied with good coverage but had a tendency to drop powder below, so it needed to be worked with carefully. It lasted for seven hours on me.

Satisfaction

Satisfaction is a soft peach with warm undertones and a pearly sheen. It had a soft, smooth texture that just a bit thinner and firmer in the pan than ideal. It was blendable on the lid and went on evenly but only lasted for seven hours on me.

Delirium

Delirium is a light-medium copper with warm, rosy undertones and a sparkling, metallic finish. The consistency was slightly loose in the pan, and the larger sparkles were more prone to sheering away from the base color, so it worked better with a dampened brush or over a tacky primer for opaque coverage and for minimizing fallout. On its own, it wore well for seven and a half hours with some fallout.

Temptress

Temptress is a muted, medium-dark red with soft, warm undertones and a mostly matte finish. It had good pigmentation with a soft, velvety texture that wasn’t too thin or too thick, and it didn’t kick up tons of powder in the pan. I had no trouble blending and diffusing the edges of the eyeshadow on bare skin. It lasted for eight hours on me before fading slightly.

Seven Heaven

Seven Heaven is a light brown with soft, warm undertones and a matte finish. It had opaque pigmentation with a smooth, velvety texture that did kick up a fair amount of excess product in the pan, so take care using and applying this one to avoid a mess in the palette or underneath the lids! It was very blendable, though, and it wasn’t too thin, so it did not turn patchy or uneven when applied to bare skin. This shade stayed on well for eight hours on me.

Shadow Hill

Shadow Hill is a medium brown with warm undertones and a matte finish. The eyeshadow was richly pigmented, while the consistency was soft, velvety and not too powdery nor too firm in the pan. It applied nicely and blended out easily. It lasted for eight hours before fading noticeably on me.

Mendoza

Mendoza is a dark copper with warm, orange undertones and flecks of pink and gold sparkle. The texture felt chunkier and was dominated by sparkle over powder, so it had semi-opaque coverage that sheered out too readily without a tacky primer. If I used a dampened brush, that helped combat some of the fallout and helped the product go on more evenly, but it worked better layered over another eyeshadow for true opacity. The eyeshadow wore well for seven and a half hours but had some fallout on its own.

Wicked Game

Wicked Game is a medium-dark copper with warm, orange undertones and a pearly sheen. It had good color coverage in a single layer, which was buildable to full coverage with a touch more patted on top. The texture was smooth, dense but not too difficult to pickup or blend out on the lid. It lasted for just over eight hours on me.

Shooting Star

Shooting Star is a light copper with warm undertones and flecks of copper and pink sparkle. It had sheer coverage, which wasn’t buildable, and it was difficult to use it dry as it was too chunky and loose in the pan. It was marginally better when applied with a dampened, flat synthetic brush but was best patted over another shade for added sparkle (but some fallout would still occur). On its own, it wore well for five and a half hours with a lot of fallout.

La La

La La is a deep, rosy bronze with warm undertones and a pearly sheen. It had nearly opaque color coverage in a single layer, which applied evenly to bare skin and blended out without issue. This shade stayed on well for eight hours on me.

Fallen Star

Fallen Star is a medium, olive green with warm undertones and a sparkling, metallic finish. It had good pigmentation, but the eyeshadow had a looser consistency that was prone to sheering out and fallout, even after tapping away excess, as so much dislodged from the pan’s surface when used. I had the best luck using this with a dampened brush, as that helped to bind the powder and sparkle better together. It wore well for seven and a half hours but had some fallout.

Coconut Grove

Coconut Grove is a deep, blackened brown with neutral-to-cool undertones and a mostly matte finish. It had good pigmentation, though it was a little drier and harder to blend out on the skin unless layered over other shades (rather than on its own). I actually found the version in the palette to have more pigmented and a softer consistency compared to the single I have from a few years ago. This shade lasted for eight hours on me.

Thanks for reviewing this so fast! I thought it might not be pigmented enough and from the swatches I can see that’s true. Plus it’s too similar to Urban Decay Naked 3 and Heat palettes both of which I love and own. But I was tempted to get this one tomorrow since I love the color scheme. Thanks for saving me from myself! lol

Thank you for getting this review up so fast, especially before it went live on Sephora. I was planning to nab this one ASAP but thanks to your honest review I think I’ll wait and see if the urge passes. I really appreciate your helpfulness!

I love this. Don’t have any strictly warm toned palettes like the ones they’ve been releasing recently yet (I’ve been holding off!) and I feel like this would be a great companion palette with a set of basic neutrals. I for one am hoping it launches at MECCA, as I feel it would go great with my Tartelette in Bloom.

Going to pass on this one. I got Loaded but didn’t care for it and returned it. This one looks much nicer in the pans than it performs. The Colourpop You Had Me at Hello palette actually looks similar and performs much better and I already have it, so money saved!

Yeah, the green. If I can do mufe on the computer at work tomorrow (incompatible with iPad) that’s on the list. Like that swatch best. And cooler is welcome to me. But this one was easy to rule out. Nars is so erratic on shadows.

Thank you Christine for your fast review. WOW, I really thought it was more on the pink side. It’s nothing what I thought it was. ? so glad for your review. ( no wonder you were not sure what I was talking about, lol )
This is what I thought it was going to looked like ::.More like with that deep red, pink, pink/gold mix, burgundy., pink shimmer, red metallic, with some matte – brownish Red, Light pink .
Oh well – keep on looking for that perfect palette & possible eye exam . ?.

Perfect timing for this review since it’s gone live for Rouge at Sephora. I was tempted because I love the color scheme but NARS shadows have always disappointed me AND, more importantly, I remembered that NARS is no longer cruelty-free.

Thank you so much for getting this out so quickly! I’ve been sort of burned out especially on these shades but this palette really caught my eye for some reason. Once again, you saved me ?!

Sharee Avatar

I’m glad I skipped out on the UD palettes and the ABH one and went with tried and true NARS because the pigmentation is great and I really love how simply the palette is laid out. I don’t have to think about what to use next because most everything works together. I really like that I can use these eye shadows as liners, blush, eye shadows, highlighters, and brow definers. It’s like having an all in one palette for someone who can never make up their mind.

This is my favorite shadow of all time! I use the MAC eye primer and have had no fall out issues with any of the colors! And pigmentation is spot on for me. I adore this palette and think everyone should give it a shot if the colors appeal to you, it performs differently for everyone. I think the shimmers are so unique- they literally make your eyelids look wet! STUNNING!
