ColourPop UR A QT Eyeshadow Palette Review & Swatches
UR A QT
ColourPop UR A QT 12-Pan Pressed Powder Shadow Palette ($18.00 for 0.36 oz.) is a new(ish), limited edition palette exclusively available at Ulta (it’s actually on sale at the moment for $12.60). The palette was easy to work with, even though some shades were less pigmented or more powdery than ideal, and for someone who normally pairs their eyeshadow with a primer, I’d expect most of the minor issues to be resolved.

2 Hot 4 U
2 Hot 4 U is a brighter peach with moderate, warm undertones and a matte finish. It had a smooth, velvety texture that seemed denser and “thicker” in a sense, which gave it better adhesion and kept it from sheering out too readily, though it was on the more powdery side. It had opaque coverage that stayed on well for seven and a half hours before fading visibly.

The new Pressed Powder Shadow formula is supposed to be “highly pigmented” with an “ultra-velvety and silky” texture that is “long-wearing” and “adheres easily to the eyes.” Most of the shades have semi-opaque to opaque pigmentation that applies well to bare skin, blends out without issue, and lasts for seven to eight hours.
The matte eyeshadows tend to be a little more powdery, though soft and finely-milled, in the pan, while the shimmers have a creamier, dense consistency. Occasionally, the more sparkly or metallic shades apply better with fingertips or a dampened brush.

Luv Me
Luv Me is a pale pink with strong, warm undertones and golden sparkle over a metallic finish. It had semi-opaque color payoff that adhered evenly to bare skin and blended out well along the edges, though it didn’t build up as well (looked more uneven), so I’d recommend going for one layer. This was a Super Shock Shadow, so the cream-to-powder formula lasted longer on me than other shades in the palette at 10 hours without fading/creasing.

Formula Overview

ColourPop Super Shock Shadow is a cream-based formula that comes in a multitude of shades and finishes. The more metallic shades have the most slip to them (they have a “wetter” feel), while the more matte ones have a firmer, more clay-like consistency. Almost every shade I’ve tried from ColourPop has been exceptionally long-wearing (10+ hours of wear, usually there until I remove, even 14 hours later). The pigmentation can vary from shade to shade, but the average shade is quite pigmented.
From feedback I’ve seen from readers, many love them but some don’t like them at all. They aren’t a traditional cream eyeshadow, as they are denser (more sponge-like), and they apply best with flat, firm, synthetic brushes (I like the MAC 242 and 249) for me. The brand recommends using fingers for the most pigmented application, but I’ve only felt that fingers were necessary on a few shades (usually the super glittery ones).
The more matte shades can be on the drier side and vary from medium to opaque in coverage, though they're often buildable. They can be a little hard to diffuse the edges of, though some are lovely to work with.
The more glittery shades have been the weakest to me, as they can be sheerer or harder to apply. Sometimes, they are more pigmented and work like the other finishes in the formula, but often, they are sheerer and only function well patted on top of more pigmented eyeshadows to add glitter. They do, however, tend to have little fallout over time with the occasional shade having a more moderate amount of fallout (but still less fallout than most powder eyeshadows with glitter).

Angel Face
Angel Face is a brighter, cotton candy pink with cool, blue undertones and sparkles over a matte finish. It had good color payoff that was buildable to full coverage with less than half of a layer. The texture was soft, lightly powdery but blendable and maintained its intensity on my skin. It wore nicely for eight hours before fading noticeably.

The new Pressed Powder Shadow formula is supposed to be “highly pigmented” with an “ultra-velvety and silky” texture that is “long-wearing." The way the Pressed Pigments differ is that they're not intended for usage on the immediate eye area.
The majority of the shades are semi-opaque to opaque in coverage, blend out fairly well, and can sometimes be a bit drier/more powdery compared to typical matte shades. They often wear eight to nine hours on me before fading, but many shades in the Pressed Pigment family leave some staining behind.

With Luv
With Luv is a light-medium pink with strong, warm undertones and a matte finish. It had semi-opaque pigmentation that was buildable when applied over primer but not so much over bare skin. The texture was slightly firmer in the pan, but it wasn’t difficult to work with overall (just needed a slightly heavier handed approach). There were signs of fading after seven and a half hours of wear.

Kiss Me
Kiss Me is a light-medium, pink-plum base with warmer undertones and cooler blue-to-lavender shifting pearl. It had semi-opaque, buildable coverage, but the texture was oddly firm and almost stiff to work with; I had to jab at the surface to get product onto my brush. It was easier to apply with a dampened brush, though. It wore well for eight hours before fading a bit.

Candygram (UR A QT)
Candygram (UR A QT) is a medium-dark plum with moderate, warm undertones and a frosted finish. The texture was more loosely-pressed into the pan, so it was somewhat messy to use as there was fallout and it was easy to pick up too much product on the brush so I’d suggest using a lighter hand when working with this shade. It had opaque coverage that lasted nicely for eight hours on me before fading visibly.

Formula Overview
$4.50/0.05 oz. - $90.00 Per Ounce

Cutie Pie
LELimited Edition. $4.50.
Heart Eyes
Heart Eyes is a muted, medium-dark purple with subtle, warm undertones and a matte finish. The texture was slightly more firmly-pressed into the pan compared to most of the brand’s matte shades, though this resulted in less powderiness. It seemed thinner, too, and more likely to react to natural oils and the like on my skin, which can impede blending but wasn’t the case with this shade as I was able to diffuse it without issue. It stayed on well for eight and a half hours before fading noticeably.

I really want Angel Face as a single, it’s impossible to find such a pigmented bubblegum pink
Another pink themed palette from CP – but no glitter….I think the more unusual shade was Candygram – a very pretty plum shade, but alas tricky to use.
I have this one. Bought it before the reviews and before seeing many swatches, too. It definitely runs warmer than I was hoping for, but it’s not an awful palette. But having their other two purple themed 9-pan palettes, I don’t believe I needed this one.
I did the same thing – and it wasn’t on sale then either but I did use the $3.50 off cc, and feel the same way Nancy. If it’s too warm for you, it’s way too warm for me. I thought I could make it works since amazingly I have been able to use It’s My Pleasure. It’s the warmest palette I have, although when I bought it I was hoping it was cooler.
Something I’ve noticed with several of my Colourpop palettes and singles is that the shadow swatched and/or applied, looks totally different than it does in the pan!
I should clarify that I meant It’s My Pleasure is the warmest palette I have, not UR A QT.
Since I’ve just re-swatched the palette there are probably enough shades I can use to keep it. It would have been much more worth it for me though if I had gotten the $12.60 sale price since there are plenty shades I can’t use. I’m not the kind of person to return something to rebuy at the sale price. Oh well.
A Suoershock shadow in a palette? Unusual. Certainly better than a pressed glitter, though!!
I didn’t realize Luv Me was a Super Shock, I just swatched it on the back of my hand and it’s really lovely, kind of creamy, and it’s got beautiful sparkly but super fine shimmer. On me, maybe because of my skin tone, it swatches slightly peachy. It’s the type of shade than can give a beautiful brightening effect. Since you always have to keep the SS tightly closed so they don’t dry out (and they still do sometimes) I wonder how this is going to last in the palette. I guess time will tell.
Haven’t been feeling the colourpop palettes lately; most coming in at B+.. wishy washy territory for me.
Once again, just NOT my colours! For the first time ever (in 67 years, which isn’t bad), I have a sty on my eyelid (not the lash line but in the middle of my upper lid). Fortunately, I’m seeing my eye doctor today (it’s my regular 6 month appointment but serendipitous since this sty popped up a few days ago). Anyway, I’ve not been wearing eye makeup (a real challenge for me) but I actually look sort of like I’m wearing pink eyeshadow!
