ColourPop Santos Super Shock Cheek
ColourPop Santos Super Shock Cheek ($8.00 for 0.15 oz.) is described as a “soft golden bronze.” It’s a slightly muted, medium-dark bronzy brown with warm, rosy undertones and a pearly sheen. There’s a plum/rosy vibe I get from it that makes it appear less bronzy, especially as I blended it out (even against my warmer undertones). The texture was smooth, soft, and blendable without being too dry or too emollient. It had buildable color coverage from semi-sheer to opaque, depending on how you applied it (which is how it is described). This shade wore well for ten hours before fading. Bobbi Brown Sunkissed Glow (P, $48.00) is more shimmery (95% similar). Guerlain Terra India (LE, $53.00) is lighter, warmer (90% similar). ColourPop New Lowes Super Shock Cheek ($8.00 for 0.15 oz.) is described as a “cool-toned berry.” It’s a medium-dark berry with cool undertones and a matte finish. It had buildable coverage from semi-sheer to mostly opaque with a natural finish that wasn’t shimmery but not totally matte. The more this is blended out (and sheered out), the more it appears as a stain. The texture was smooth, thin, and a little drier compared to the more shimmery shades in the cheek color range. It was fairly blendable, but it wasn’t quite as effortless as Santos. It wore well for ten hours before starting to fade. Kevyn Aucoin Grapevine #3 (PiP, ) is lighter (95% similar). Santos is so gorgeous on you! Hmm, bronze colors tend to look muddy or orange on me, but I see some yellow shimmers/undertones in there, might work, will put on my maybe list
There’s something about it that doesn’t read JUST bronze to me, but it’s subtle.

Speaking of the first full face shot, yesterday’s LOTD, I did re-attempt the teal & taupe look with success! I took some of what you did here, but reconfigured it to my eyecolor. So I reversed the teal and electric blue placement, and my eyes became as green as Medusa! And I went with lighter taupes, MUFE Pink Beige inner corner, Taupe Platinum on lid, Olive Gray inner crease bridged into Lagoon Blue on outer crease, Electric Blue on outer 3rd of lid, Sephora’s My Boyfriend’s Jeans as outer half liner, Nyx Azure Slide-On Pencil for inner half, Clinique Cola Pop and MAC Shaft Of Gold on cheeks, MAC All I Want topped with VG V Lipstick, lips lined with Nyx Mahogany lipliner ombreed underneath. One of my all-time best looks ever! Thank you so much for the inspiration and refueling my mojo, Christine!

Me to! Our “hazeling” of our irisis is different, so I really had to reverse the blue and green to make it work on my teal/green/gold combo. You are so lucky to have a charcoal-ed teal/ copper brown combo, it’s more unique!

Hey Christine, what brush or tool do you use to apply ColourPop cheek products? I’ve tried traditional blush brushes and a stippling brush, but can’t seem to find anything that works. I have Happy Hour just sitting around waiting to be used.
I usually go with fingertips, but I also like MAC’s 159 a lot 🙂
New Lowes is quite pretty! I’m loving it! It reminds me of Clinique Berry Pop but much more intense and darker. I love that it’s a dupe for the Chanel LE which I wanted but never got!

These are both great. And the importance of putting the blended out swatches really shows, on both of these. You see the rosy in Santos and the dupes for New Lowes are so much more differentiated in the blended out ones. Thanks for that in all cases, but the need for it is really demonstrated by this pair. What do you guys think the name means? Is it a pun? It can’t be referring to a hardware superstore! Love it. And Santos does pull rosier, which probably better suits that fun, gorgeous eye look.

I would never look twice on a colour like Santos, but having seen the swatches and seen it on you I would absolutley give it a chance, I think it’s a gorgeous colour.
New Lowes is the kind of colour I’m naturally drawn toward, it’s like the colour I want my cheeks to be after a nice walk in the snow.
They are quite different! I like that they made them that way since they launched together.

I think it may be NARS’ new peach one. It’s basically my natural lip color with warmth – don’t recommend it though.
