ColourPop Hot Headed, Sad But True, Puppies!!! Ultra Glossy Lips Reviews & Swatches
Hot Headed
ColourPop Hot Headed Ultra Glossy Lip ($7.00 for 0.11 oz.) is a bright burst of tangerine orange with pink-to-peach shifting pearl that gave it a soft, metallic sheen. It had medium coverage, though it was intended to be full coverage, that applied somewhat evenly but could have adhered better to my top lip. There was a slight amount of product that sat in my deeper lip lines but wasn’t noticeable from a normal viewing distance. The texture was smooth, lightweight, and slightly tacky but comfortable to wear over the four hours it stayed on well for. The formula felt lightly hydrating over time.

Formula Overview
$7.00/0.11 oz. - $63.64 Per Ounce
The formula is supposed to have "hi-shine" with a "non-sticky" texture that "feels amazing" and includes five finishes "from 3-D pearl to sheer tinted colour." They are designed to be a sheerer formula, so many shades are sheer with a smattering of shimmer or sparkle and then a few are more tinted with sheer to semi-sheer coverage but no shimmer. Each gloss has a short, brush-type applicator, which worked better than I expected and didn't leave streaky results behind (in general). They had a sweet, vanilla scent but no discernible taste.
The "Tinted" finish ("glass-like shine with tint of sheer colour and no shimmer") was the least consistent--sometimes prone to unevenness and getting into lip lines, particularly with deeper/richer shades, whereas Pearlescent ("glass-like shine with subtle shimmer") and Prismatic ("glass-like shine with floating multi dimensional pearl and glitters") are sheer to translucent with the major difference being finer shimmer in the Pearlescent finish and larger, more glitter-like particles in the Prismatic finish. Both finishes tended to look plush and more smoothing on my lips. The Creme finish is a "medium-coverage gloss with a creamy finish that does not contain any pearls or glitter." The Metallic is described as a "full-coverage gloss with a mix of pearl and metallic finishes."
The wear time varied by shade but the sheerer ones tended to wear between two and three hours as the formula was, indeed, non-sticky and smooth, which made them lighter-weight and comfortable to wear but shorter wearing. A lot of the sheerer shades ran together, so I would recommend just picking up one or two rather than several as the differences are likely to be lost! Also, keep in mind that sheerer lip colors can look different from person to person due to much of the natural lip color coming through.

Sad But True
ColourPop Sad But True Ultra Glossy Lip ($7.00 for 0.11 oz.) has a translucent base with very fine, lavender and blue pearl. It seemed to bring out the pink tones in my natural lip color and made them appear a bit darker while adding a fine smattering of lavender and blue pearl. It had a very smooth, lightweight, and thin texture that was comfortable to wear and easy to apply. It had sheer coverage, as marketed, that went on evenly and didn’t emphasize my lip lines. It lasted for three hours and was lightly moisturizing while worn.

Sad But True
LELimited Edition. $7.00.
Puppies
ColourPop Puppies!!! Ultra Glossy Lip ($7.00 for 0.11 oz.) is a soft, sparkling beige with warm undertones and a more translucent base. It had sheer coverage with a semi-sheer level of sparkle/shimmer (which is how the finish is intended to be). The base seemed to lighten and add subtle warmth to my natural lip color, but it didn’t enhance the unevenness of my natural lip and did smooth out my lip lines. It had a lightweight, smooth consistency that was non-sticky and lasted for two and a half hours on me but was hydrating over time.

Layerings of cool tones,to go with your amazingly gorgeous new hair balayage! Just grand.
As much as Iād like to own a lip color called Puppies, all three of these fail to impress me. From what the review says, Sad But True and Hot Headed should switch names! š
Sad, But True is totally up my alley! The blue and purple sparkles do not turn your lips blue, but pink instead. And that makes this one less scary for me. I could so see myself popping a dab of this over something like MAC Vegas Volt for a blue-violet shifting peach lip!
