Fragola
Chanel Fragola Rouge Coco Gloss ($30.00 for 0.19 fl. oz.) is muted, medium coral-red with warm undertones and a jelly-like finish. It had semi-sheer to medium coverage that went on decently, but it could have been a touch more even. The gloss felt very smooth, gel-like, and plush on the lips. This shade lasted for three hours and was hydrating over time.
The formula is supposed to have “intense shine, hydration” with a “gel-like texture” with shades that vary from “sheer to opaque” in coverage. The consistency has a smooth, lightweight texture that can feel more like a gel-like texture with some of the sheerer shades and more like a cream and gel hybrid with more opaque shades. It’s a formula that’s comfortable to wear with light tackiness that lasts anywhere from two to four hours and is hydrating over time. There was a strong, mirror-like shine across the shades that was very reminiscent of the prior Glossimer formula. There was a faint floral scent, and with some shades, I got a subtle taste of perfume. The doe foot applicator was more unique (at least, to me) with a very curved edge that was great for my bottom lip while flipping it gave me a more paddle-shaped edge that worked better for my top lip. I would love to see Chanel introduce color descriptions on their retail website, especially for a formula like this where there can be such a huge difference in pigmentation (and finish) from one shade to the next that isn’t obvious from a product photo.

Confusion
Chanel Confusion Rouge Coco Gloss ($30.00 for 0.19 fl. oz.) is a medium-dark plum with cool undertones and a jelly-like finish. It had semi-sheer coverage that went on evenly with minimal settling (just my deepest lip lines) that was not noticeable from a normal viewing distance. The consistency was smooth, gel-like, and comfortable to wear over the three hours it lasted, as it was moisturizing.

Caractere
Chanel Caractere Rouge Coco Gloss ($30.00 for 0.19 fl. oz.) is a deep berry with cool undertones and a jelly-like finish. It had semi-opaque pigmentation, but the color just emphasized every lip line I had as the color pooled in them and made them appear darker. The gloss itself felt smooth going on, and the color looked fairly even to my eye. This shade wore well for four and a half hours and was moisturizing.

Amazing how the pigment varies so much by shade!
It surely does! I really wish they’d give descriptions on Chanel’s site just for that reason.
I’m not normally drawn to this kind of colour, but Caractere seems like one to try out from this collection!
It is nice!
Normally I don’t go in for such sheer shades, but I really like Fragola and Confusion quite a lot! Obviously, I would only need one of them as they have such a similar appearance once applied. Fragola seems like it would warm my lips up (um, they need it!), but Confusion seems to have better coverage.
Agree that you don’t need both! 🙂
These look nice, love that jelly finish and they go great with your gorgeous eye look. I would use Fragola as an everyday anytime red.
Thanks, Betty! 😀
Confusion is pretty. I’m not really into sheer glosses so I’ll pass. If I change my mind, and it’s happened, I might get this, or something just like it though.
Good idea to pass if you’re not into sheerer gloss – most of the ones I’ve tried in the line are definitely sheer to medium!
All are pretty colors. I’ll have to head to the shops to see which one is the best for me.
Good idea! I definitely want to stop by sometime to see the other shades myself.
I like them but there might be better glosses out there for less. How do you feel that these compare to other high end glosses? Like NARS?
