Allison

Anastasia Allison Liquid Lipstick ($20.00 for 0.11 fl. oz.) is a medium-dark plum with warm undertones and a flat, matte finish. The consistency was smooth, thin but not watery, and spread well across the lips, but the dry down emphasized the texture of my lips and appeared slightly “cracked” along some of my lip lines. It had opaque pigmentation that covered evenly, though, and it lasted for six and a half hours. I noticed some of the color started to flake off after six hours of wear, and it was somewhat drying.

The Liquid Lipstick is supposed to be an “ultra-saturated” formula that gives opaque coverage in “one swipe” that “stays put for hours.” I think the formula has improved over time, as some of the initial shades I tried were more problematic, but a lot of the newer shades have applied more evenly, been more opaque, and haven’t been quite as drying. The majority of shades are semi-opaque to opaque in a single layer, dry down evenly, and stay on for at least six hours, if not well beyond eight hours. I personally find most shades to be lightly to moderately drying over time.

Dusty Rose

Anastasia Dusty Rose Liquid Lipstick ($20.00 for 0.11 fl. oz.) is a muted, medium pinky mauve with subtle, warm undertones and a matte finish. It had rich, opaque pigmentation that spread across the lips evenly and smoothly. The texture was thin without being watery, so it was easy to work across the lips but did not sheer out or appear streaky. The dry down resulted in a flat, matte finish that had one or two visible “cracks” at my lip lines but was fairly smooth. This shade wore well for seven hours and felt drying after five hours of wear.

Anastasia Madison Liquid Lipstick

Madison

Anastasia Madison Liquid Lipstick ($20.00 for 0.11 fl. oz.) is a rich, medium-dark magenta purple with warm, pink undertones and a matte finish. It had nearly full color coverage that applied evenly lips. The texture was slightly thinner and had less substance to it compared to most of the Anastasia range, though it did not sheer out or have any issues with streaking. I felt like it was more prone to emphasizing the texture and lines on my lips than normal, but the color didn’t flake off over time, so the wear was nearly eight hours. It started to feel drying after five hours of wear.

Idk why, but the abh ll formula is the toughest for me, even with two sunk-in layers of balm. Personally, the kvd and cp lls are much easier. I have only one abh, and the other day, put it on my lower lip first, and my upper lip shrank and crinkled in anticipation. Very weird. The finish kind of breaks up, too. Just difficult and not pleasant. Whichever one I have is prob w/in a year, so dk if the formula got a revamp in the meantime. Maybe I’ll try it over 2 balms and ozone….something ought to make it work. The colors are so lovely, it’s a shame to shudder at the formula! Any ideas, anybody? Maybe it’s just personal chemistry.

I have Dusty Rose along with American Doll and Sugar Plum. Its my favorite liquid lipstick formula, doesn’t dry my lips out at all.
I have 2 KVD and I love them but they are almost too drying for me and I can’t wear Colourpop at all. Though I can wear Colourpop Matte X lippie.
