I just bought Clinique Peach Pop and I LOVE it! I had to re-read your review for it because I almost swore it was a cream product. I tried 2 blush brushes on it and it wasn’t picking up a ton of color, so I just used my fingers to apply and blend it, and that worked well. It’s a great spring color on my fair skin!

Thanks for posting this. I love this blog. After decades of following makeup color ‘rules’, I strictly avoided warm colors, because the ‘rule-makers’ had determined those shades clashed with cool, blue-based skin tones. So no peaches, corals, or anything orangey. Happily one day, I saw a gorgeous rosy coral lipstick that I couldn’t resist buying. Eureka! this color livened up my face like nobody’s business! It was discontinued eventually….so I’m glad that corals are trendy right now, as I’m still searching for a good dupe of that old Ultima II lipstick from the 80’s. Fortunately, I love the searching, LOL!

Thank you so much, Leslie! I’m SOOOOO happy that you broke those so-called rules and ended up finding something you LOVED and worked beautifully on you! I think “rules” can be great guidelines for when you’re starting out, but it’s really through trial and error that we discover what works best for us!

Reflexion looks perfect. And Lovelust looks great on you.

I find a lot of corals hard to pull of as a lip colour, but I love Mac See Sheer and Lipstick Queen Coral Sinner (a matte brownish reddish coral). I love Chanel Blush Creme in Presage too. My dad, who generally dislikes makeup actually complimented me on it, which was a complete first for him.

Thank you, thank you, thank you, Christine! I’m in coral heaven and off to hunt some of these. Hopefully, some will work for me.

Love the look of MAC Be A Lady! And that exact Clinique Cheek Pop is on my wishlist – I’m just waiting it for it to hit the stores in the UK!

I’ve just bought MAC See Sheer, so I’m hoping that will become a firm coral favourite! It’s not even warm here yet, so I don’t know why I’m craving so much coral – must be wishful thinking!!

Last summer, I discovered a great lightweight coral-based pink lipstick from Maybelline. I’d definitely like to get something a little different once the weather gets warmer, but I seem to feel like the shades I find are too “old lady” on me.

Any advice on how to keep it looking young?

I would think, in lipstick, going a little less opaque in finish and grabbing a shade with some shimmer to it would avoid the grandma’s coral lipstick connotation.

Thanks so much for doing this compilation Christine. I do love me some coral its got to be said! Was especially thrilled to see the Givenchy Rose dressing lipstick on there as I ordered it at the weekend. Cant wait for it to arrive!

I was at Sephora today and swatched Radiant Magenta, thinking it looked so “pinky” in the pan that it couldn’t possibly be as peachy looking as it was here. One swipe and I had PEACH – a more pink-leaning peach but still peach. If it were half the price it is, I might have got it but since peach and coral aren’t shades that look good on me, it was easy to pass it up. Sadly, I’ve nothing more than Benefit Coralista and LE MAC Morning Breeze to contribute to the discussion of corals for spring.

MAC Lady at play lipstick

That Givenchy lipstick is BEAUTIFUL! Do you think it’s worth the splurge, or is it really similar to Too Faced’s Bon Bon?

Quinctia Avatar

The Maybelline Stain Gloss comes in a coral shade that I really like. A lot of coral lip products are either too translucent to read coral on my pigmented lips, or they’re not opaque enough to block the color out evenly, and that stain just perfectly reads coral on my lips. And the wear’s good!

They discontinued it, as far as I can tell. Even though, in the end, I had the best luck with that formula out of everything in that Superstay 24hr line. 🙁 I didn’t try them til I saw them on clearance. I remember them getting so-so reviews when they came out, so I’d avoided them. They work well for me. Formula wise, they feel a lot like the L’Oreal Caresse Glossy Stains, but with better lasting color.

I kept grabbing colors here and there as they went on clearance at different stores, and I think I ended up with five of the shades.
