10 Shades of Coral for Spring to Wear on Lips & Cheeks
Reader Dilyana wanted to see more top picks for corals… so here’s my current top ten list of coral lipsticks, lipglosses, and blushes! (See them in the Swatch Gallery here.) What are your favorites right now?
- Hourglass Radiant Magenta — a warm-toned, pinky-coral with a satin finish
- Too Faced Bon Bon — a bright, warm-toned coral
- Chanel Reflexion — a shimmering, coral-red gloss
- Clinique Peach Pop — a muted, coral-orange with a luminous finish
- Maybelline Caramel Infused — a soft, pink-coral gloss
- Urban Decay Streak — a glossy coral-pink
- Tom Ford Love Lust –a shimmering, dark coral
- Burberry Camel Pink — a peachy-gold shimmered coral-pink gloss
- Givenchy Rose Dressing (202) — a vibrant, pink-coral
- MAC Be a Lady –a brightened, pink-coral
On me, Reflexion looks very rosy and I love it. I can’t wait to try more shades in the formula. On a different note, do you think (a) Lovelust would suit a fair (Revlon 110 in colorstay, Chanel BR 12, ~MAC N15) and (b) that it’s worth the price?
I think Lovelust could totally work on fairer skin, but it’s hard to ever recommend a $50+ blush with confidence, lol! Have you tried any more orange-corals before?
I’d forgotten about streak! Might gave to get my hand on it, as I have Venom and love the formula 🙂
So many pretty things on this list, though! Coral is such a great colour 😀
Streak is a really well-balanced coral! Not too pink or orange, not too bright or muted!
I just bought Clinique Peach Pop and I LOVE it! I had to re-read your review for it because I almost swore it was a cream product. I tried 2 blush brushes on it and it wasn’t picking up a ton of color, so I just used my fingers to apply and blend it, and that worked well. It’s a great spring color on my fair skin!
It does feel almost like a cream!!
Stila Self Adjusting blush in Coral, MAC Coral Bliss lipstick. I love your list!
Coral Bliss is a nice color!
Gah! These are all so pretty; it’s just frustrating because March is still very, very much winter in Minnesota, and I want it to be spring so badly! I’m eyeballing the Clinique blush something fierce.
I hope it starts feeling like spring for you soon, Manda 🙂
4 of these have been on my wishlist for a while… I think I’ll take this post as a sign that I need to finally use the Sephora gift cards I got for Chritmas and go shopping!!!
Did you end up using them?!
Great picks! I have such a weakness for coral. I am currently loving MACs Petal Power blush. I’ve worn it so much since I picked it up a few weeks ago.
That’s such a pretty shade!
On behalf of my wallet, please stop reminding me of Tom Ford.
I’ll try but no promises 😉
Thanks for posting this. I love this blog. After decades of following makeup color ‘rules’, I strictly avoided warm colors, because the ‘rule-makers’ had determined those shades clashed with cool, blue-based skin tones. So no peaches, corals, or anything orangey. Happily one day, I saw a gorgeous rosy coral lipstick that I couldn’t resist buying. Eureka! this color livened up my face like nobody’s business! It was discontinued eventually….so I’m glad that corals are trendy right now, as I’m still searching for a good dupe of that old Ultima II lipstick from the 80’s. Fortunately, I love the searching, LOL!
Thank you so much, Leslie! I’m SOOOOO happy that you broke those so-called rules and ended up finding something you LOVED and worked beautifully on you! I think “rules” can be great guidelines for when you’re starting out, but it’s really through trial and error that we discover what works best for us!
I want them ALL.
Coral <3
Are Be A Lady and Bon Bon close? Yes, I’m still looking at them lol
Sorry, after much closer scrutiny they don’t seem to be lol
Be a Lady is definitely pinker and a little lighter, not as warm/coral as Bon Bon 🙂
Think I went swatch crazy lol
Reflexion looks perfect. And Lovelust looks great on you.
I find a lot of corals hard to pull of as a lip colour, but I love Mac See Sheer and Lipstick Queen Coral Sinner (a matte brownish reddish coral). I love Chanel Blush Creme in Presage too. My dad, who generally dislikes makeup actually complimented me on it, which was a complete first for him.
I could probably wear Lovelust for the rest of my life. It’s the one blush I almost always reach for on my “days off” so-to-speak.
When your dad compliments you on it, you KNOW it’s a gem.
Peach pop is such a beautiful shade. I actually do not own a lot of coral shades, I’m really tempted by this one
It’s an amazing formula!
I wish i could rock the coral lips still! After i changed my hair from blonde to black, coral lipstick made me look like a clown. Fortunately coral blush looks fab on me! But too bad i cant pull off bon bon which i had my eye on for a while:)
What about a lighter coral? Have you tried maybe blotting ones you have or applying over a dusty rose lip liner?
Thank you, thank you, thank you, Christine! I’m in coral heaven and off to hunt some of these. Hopefully, some will work for me.
You’re welcome, Dilyana!
Lovely picks! I definitely need Radiant Magenta and Peach Pop! I already have Diffused Heat and Ginger Pop and are loving them both 🙂
YAY!! Every time a reader says they’re loving Clinique’s Cheek Pops, I get so excited!
Love the look of MAC Be A Lady! And that exact Clinique Cheek Pop is on my wishlist – I’m just waiting it for it to hit the stores in the UK!
I’ve just bought MAC See Sheer, so I’m hoping that will become a firm coral favourite! It’s not even warm here yet, so I don’t know why I’m craving so much coral – must be wishful thinking!!
Hope Clinique pops up (ha, ha) in the UK soon!
My current favorite is Clinique Peach Pop. AMAZING formula and finish! I also love Tom Ford Lovelust and Burberry Blossom blush!
I need Clinique to put out about 10 more shades. And, you know, five brands to copy it and put out another 40 😉
Yay! Thank you for posting this. I always love knowing what your top picks are. Which lipstick from this list do you think would work the best with pigmented lips and olive skin?
I guess I should mention that I’m NC 25-30 and shades like UD Naked are practically the same color as my lips. 🙂
You are lucky to be blessed with such a lovely natural lip color!
No problem, Lisa!
I would say Rose Dressing (best coverage) or Bon Bon!
Thanks! I appreciate the response. I will have to check those out!
I have a similar Too Faced lipstick called Juicy Melons and loooove it! The formula is so nice and creamy, perfect for Spring 😉
xx -b.
Yay! I like the La Creme formula a lot!
Chanel’s Malice is a beautiful coral blush with a bit of pink. Love this list. I need to check some of these out.
Hope you get a chance to find a new favorite from the list 🙂
I love this list, thank you!
No prob! xo
Last summer, I discovered a great lightweight coral-based pink lipstick from Maybelline. I’d definitely like to get something a little different once the weather gets warmer, but I seem to feel like the shades I find are too “old lady” on me.
Any advice on how to keep it looking young?
Hard to say without knowing the color offhand, but you could try adding a little gloss to it!
I would think, in lipstick, going a little less opaque in finish and grabbing a shade with some shimmer to it would avoid the grandma’s coral lipstick connotation.
Thanks so much for doing this compilation Christine. I do love me some coral its got to be said! Was especially thrilled to see the Givenchy Rose dressing lipstick on there as I ordered it at the weekend. Cant wait for it to arrive!
It was really fun! I love me a good coral 🙂
I am definitely a coral girl. Thanks for the great list, Christine!
You & me both!
My pleasure! xo
I was at Sephora today and swatched Radiant Magenta, thinking it looked so “pinky” in the pan that it couldn’t possibly be as peachy looking as it was here. One swipe and I had PEACH – a more pink-leaning peach but still peach. If it were half the price it is, I might have got it but since peach and coral aren’t shades that look good on me, it was easy to pass it up. Sadly, I’ve nothing more than Benefit Coralista and LE MAC Morning Breeze to contribute to the discussion of corals for spring.
Isn’t it crazy how… not pink Radiant Magenta is? There’s some there, but it’s not *magenta* by any means.
Coral’s definitely one of my favorite shades. 🙂
My picks are:
1) Becca Mineral Blush in Damselfly and Flowerchild
2) Chanel Joues Contraste in Malice
3) Chanel Rouge Allure Intense in Melodieuse
4) Clinique Cheek Pop Blush in Peach Pop
5) Dior Diorblush in Corail Bagatelle
6) Guerlain Rouge Automatique in Chamade
7) Guerlain Rouge G in Gracy
8) NARS Powder Blush in Deep Throat
9) Tom Ford Cheek Color in Love Lust
10) Tom Ford Lip Color Sheer in Sweet Spot
I always look forward to seeing your picks, Precious! We share so many favorites 😉
That’s because I discovered most of my favorite products through you. 🙂
Beautiful Corals! I love corals all year round. Soon I’m going to buy Rose Dressing!
Love Le Rouge!
MAC be a lady and Clinique Peach Pop .. both are super prettyy!!
Beautiful compilation..love coral pinkss a lott.. great picks for summer!! 😀
Thank you, Poo! 🙂
Love coral pigments, perfectly soft and natural.
They’re perfect for spring and summer, too!
Thanks for this – coral EVERYTHING is my new obsession – thanks to your blog, actually – I don’t think I had such an awareness of how good this colour was before!
No problem, Alison! 😉
Thank you for reading!!
I still have to try the Clinique Pop Blush! When I go on holiday in a few weeks I am going to try them at the airport 🙂
Can’t wait to hear your thoughts on it once you’ve had a chance to try, Tabitha!
fabulous list like always and not good to my pocket which is again same old story hahah 😀 😀 but then i love the fact that every single product lives up to the expectation
you make our vanity so well balanced with your honest reviews 😀
my list goes like this – SELF PRAISES
Tom Ford true coral which is stunning on NC 40 skin
YSL no 31 glossy stain aahhhhh i love this on me
MAC Cantaloupe Pro blush
MAC DEVIL Pro blush
MAC Lady at play lipstick
from your list –
i only have CHANEL REFLEXION and loveeee it madly 🙂 and
i badly want Love lust but my frnds always keep on saying that it will not show up at alll on me 🙁 🙁 do you agree with them ?
Aww, thank you so much, Rashmi!! 🙂
Love your picks!
It may not show up as a vibrant coral, though it is shimmery enough that it will be very glow-y at the very least.
not related to post but i saw yours and Precious recommendation on CHANEL CHAMADE 😀
def be trying that blush when i go to Mumbai next time 😀 😀 thank you so much dear for the reccos 😀
Always my pleasure, Rashmi!
The more I see the Clinique Peach Pop blush the more I want it lol
I loveeeee!
I just love coral shades…Its a great compilation for coral lovers like me…:-)
Happy to share!
These shades are beautiful! I especially like Benefit Coralista and Mac Flamingo!
CORALista is a classic!
MAC LE Viva Glam Cyndi Lipglass. I wish they would bring this one back!
Me too! That was a nice shade.
That Givenchy lipstick is BEAUTIFUL! Do you think it’s worth the splurge, or is it really similar to Too Faced’s Bon Bon?
I don’t think they’re too similar to each other, but both are great formulas so if Givenchy is a bit too splurge-y, Bon Bon is quite nice! 🙂
The Maybelline Stain Gloss comes in a coral shade that I really like. A lot of coral lip products are either too translucent to read coral on my pigmented lips, or they’re not opaque enough to block the color out evenly, and that stain just perfectly reads coral on my lips. And the wear’s good!
I need to try this formula! I can’t remember trying a stain from Maybelline.
They discontinued it, as far as I can tell. Even though, in the end, I had the best luck with that formula out of everything in that Superstay 24hr line. 🙁 I didn’t try them til I saw them on clearance. I remember them getting so-so reviews when they came out, so I’d avoided them. They work well for me. Formula wise, they feel a lot like the L’Oreal Caresse Glossy Stains, but with better lasting color.
I kept grabbing colors here and there as they went on clearance at different stores, and I think I ended up with five of the shades.
My little sister scoring my MAC Supercontinental blush may just be the perfect excuse to try one of these blushes!
Sounds like a good plan to me!
Love the Tom Ford
