Comments that do not adhere to our comment policy may be removed. Discussion and debate are highly encouraged but we expect community members to participate respectfully. Please keep discussion on-topic, and if you have general feedback, a product review request, an off-topic question, or need technical support, please contact us!

Please help us streamline the comments' section and be more efficient: double-check the post above for more basic information like pricing, availability, and so on to make sure your question wasn't answered already. Comments alerting us to typos or small errors in the post are appreciated (!) but will typically be removed after errors are fixed (unless a response is needed).

We appreciate enthusiasm for new releases but ask readers to please hold questions regarding if/when a review will be posted as we can't commit to or guarantee product reviews. We don't want to set expectations and then disappoint readers as even products that are swatched don't always end up being reviewed due to time constraints and changes in priorities! Thank you for understanding!

Skin tone: Very pale with cool undertones.

Favorite Look: I haven’t worn a ton of makeup this week since I am home avoiding the fires but one day I did spend just playing around with makeup from my vacation haul so used the Laura Mercier NYC Uptown Chic palette which is the warmer of the two palettes. I used the lightest peachy matte shade in the transition area and then a light brown below that and the darkest brown shade all over the mobile lid and up into the crease a little way. I used my Becca Highlighter in Pearl as my inner corner and brow bone highlighter. It was definitely a smoky eye look and only really suitable to wear in the evening but I was just playing. I used MAC Viva Glam 1 as my lipstick.

Most used product: My Chosungah 22 Hidden Foundation in Porcelain. I have one more back up and then gone forever. So sad.

New beauty discoveries: Really nothing product wise but I am using a flat foundation brush to apply makeup setting spray to my under eye area to minimize dryness from powder used to set the concealer. I saw a very old YT video that used this technique. I like it so far and want to try it with a few more setting sprays. When I spray my face I rarely get it in the under eye area so this seems to make sense to me. She just used the flat foundation brush and sprayed it with the setting spray and then lightly tapped it in the under eye area. She also recommends using your finger to powder the under eye area stating that it better controls the amount and placement of the powder in that area.

I been there with the fire season stuff..they can be awful! I have two air purifiers but not sure if they do much, if smoke is terribly thick. On lighter fire days..I think they do something…or maybe just placebo effect haha.

I just tried out a few lippies..the Smashbox metallics are fun.

ShariP, I have tried the MUFE setting spray and it was just okay for me. I know a lot of people love it and are loyal to it. I am kind of a spray junkie and am only loyal to MAC Fix +. I always keep MAC Fix + on hand but I also like both of the Mario Badescu sprays, the rose one and the tea tree and cucumber one. I like the illuminating spray from Cover FX , the Milky Mist Hydrating spray from Pixie by Petra and the Glow Tonic from Pixie. I know a lot of people really like the Tatcha Mist but I didn’t really love that one either. Not sure why. I think I was expecting something amazing as everyone was raving about it and it just wasn’t anything special to me. I also didn’t love the smell. I have never tried the Urban Decay ones and those are my next splurge. My daughter has tried a couple and really like them but our skin types are exact opposites.
One thing about the technique is that you don’t want the brush super saturated and I don’t use any of the illuminating sprays for this technique as I am older and have some eye bags which illumination does nothing good for them, LOL.

Skintone / coloring : Light, MAC NC 20, med brown hair and eyes

Favorite look worn : MAC Brown Script eyeshadow in crease. MAC Pro Longwear Antique Diamond Paint Pot on eyelid. NARS Dual Intensity eyeshadow in Pasphipae on eyelid. Wet n Wild Coloricon eyeshadow in Creme Brulee on browbone. MAC Teddy eyeliner. Cargo Texaslash mascara. Tom Ford Ravish blush. Tarte matte Park Avenue Princess bronzer. Essence Pure Nude Highlighter in Be My Highlight. MAC Jubilee lipstick.

Most Used Product: MAC Teddy Eyeliner. ABH Brow Wiz in Soft Brown. Cargo Texaslash Mascara. Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless Translucent Pressed Powder. Buxom eyeshadow single in style icon. Benefit Rockateur blush. Sun Bum SPF 30 Mango lip balm. Estee Lauder Double Wear foundation in 1W1 Bone

New beauty discoveries : I discovered that I’m not a fan of the Cargo Texaslash Mascara. For a name like that I expect a more dramatic mascara. It gives you nothing more than subtle lashes. It also flakes and transfers. Glad to use it up finally!
