Lilac Geode

Becca Lilac Geode Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed ($38.00 for 0.28 oz.) is a light-medium pink with cooler undertones paired with warmer, golden shimmer. On my complexion, it ended up translating to a warmer color overall, though on cooler skin tones, the blue in the base might come through more prominently. It had excellent pigmentation with a soft, smooth, and blendable consistency that wasn’t too soft nor was it too firm in the pan. The highlighter was easy to work with using a myriad of brushes and could be applied more lightly just by using a lighter hand or less dense brush. It had a more metallic, high-shine finish on the skin at medium or greater coverage, though it did not emphasize my skin’s texture to my eye. On me, it stayed on well for eight and a half hours before fading slightly.

Formula Overview

$38.00/0.25 oz. - $152.00 Per Ounce

The Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed formula is described as having an "ultra-reflective shine" with a "creamy" texture that "applies seamlessly." In general, the texture of the highlighters is incredibly smooth, silky, and finely-milled with frosted to metallic finishes and the occasional more sparkly finish.

They tend to have a high-shine, more metallic finish and are a stronger highlighter, so they are going to be best suited to someone who likes an obvious highlight over a very subtle one. That being said, with a fan brush and a deft hand, one could certainly achieve a subtler, all-over luminosity as well, but if one takes a typical, tapered highlighting brush, there will be quite a bit of pigment and highlight on the skin.

I find that some shades can emphasize the look of pores slightly to moderately, depending on application. They tend to last between eight to nine hours on me.

This one and the smoky mauve one are the 2 best ones I’ve ever bought from Becca. What’s funny is this one pulls more pink/lilac on me but when I was hanging out with a friend of mine who is significantly darker and warm toned, it pulled more gold on her like it did on you!

I bought this in the first few days it came out, not even realizing it was brand new. I just saw it on the shelf and liked it. I immediately came home and googled “becca lilac geode temptalia” to read about it, and was amazed that it was not here. That’s when I realized how new it was!

I like the highlighter, but I’m a bit dismayed it does not pull lilac/pink. It is very peachy, which I don’t mind. I just have to remember it’s not really lilac when I’m picking what highlighter I want for the day.

Christine.. did you happen to purchase the smoky quartz highlighter by Becca.. ?? I haven’t found even a single review online.. I have the lilac geode.. , it’s flawless..

Jen I have swatches of smoky quartz on my IG that I posted 6 days ago: https://www.instagram.com/p/BYdG8TplEQD/?taken-by=binxcat4ever

I’m happy to answer any questions you may have until Christine gets a review up (don’t want to step on her or anyone else’s toes!)

I picked this up on a whim at Ulta. I’m in love! I prefer warmer colors on me and this looks gorgeous. It can look natural or super glam. Glad to see you gave it good marks. 🙂

I just wish they would release smaller sizes for perhaps $25 or so… I haven’t even made a dent in my Moonstone highlighter of theirs, and I’ve had it for months! Hard to justify a more “niche” color like this or the Amethyst at that price point when you’ll never go through it all.

I heard this was a good one, but glad I waited for your swatch– it’s too close to MAC Beaming Blush, which I have and love. But glad this scored well for those interested!

<3<3<3 Gorgeous! I saw this in my Ulta email this morning and immediately added it to my wishlist. I am planning to haul it the next time I redeem my points, assuming it doesn't sell out before then. Limited Edition stuff always makes me nervous because I like to plan out my purchases, but I worry about things selling out.

I was shocked I’d missed this, but I just checked the Canadian Sephora site and it’s not there – it just has the ‘flashes’ ones and the Amethyst LE one. Is this not being released in Canada?

Thanks for the review, Christine!

This is definitely the most aesthetically pleasing product I’ve seen in a while. Can’t imagine ever spending that much on a highlighter, so I’ll be picking up the ColourPop Angel Food highlighter since it’s so similar!

Have you ever tried Ulta’s “Pink Diamond” highlighter? It’s also a pink with gold shimmer, but it’s a much warmer pink and I was wondering how they compare — especially at that price! I love my Becca products, but ouch.
