Week in Review | April 15th through April 21st
Happy Saturday! I always enjoy seeing what makes up the week’s top ten highest-reviewed products, so I hope you find it somewhat interesting as well! 🙂  I didn’t get to use much that wasn’t for testing this week, but more recently, I have been enjoying Tom Ford’s Nude Dipp quite a bit. I took that quad along with Chanel’s Empreint du Desert and put them in my vanity as go-tos (when the mood strikes, when I need something foolproof for a big group of blush/lip photos). I’m pretty sure I found a way to wear MAC Fairly Precious and Estee Lauder Naked Truth into at least one look this week, too.

My skin tone/coloring: Light-medium warm leaning neutral, NC20-25ish. Dark hair and brown eyes.
Most loved product of the week: NARS Subra. A surprise, given that when I accidentally bought this instead of Desdemona early last year, I thought the eyeshadow was too dark for me to use. Turns out I just needed the right brush, because this is lovely to softly line the lash line with and place along the outer edge of the eye with a smaller eye brush. I tried it wet by spritzing it with a facial mist and it’s nice but not for me and tends to crease on my oily lids after a few hours, despite using a primer.
Most used product of the week: MAC Full of Joy. Ever since I dyed my hair a cooler and darker brown, I’ve been really liking a baby pink for blush.
Any new beauty discoveries?: Glossier Boy Brow in Black. Not sure how I feel about this yet, because I generally still need to pencil in the tail end of my brows but this held my brows quite well over the 2 days that I wore it. It definitely feels drier than my Essence Make Me Brow.
My skin tone/coloring: light to medium with yellow undertones, dark brown eyes, black hair
Most loved product of the week: Physicians Formula InstaReady concealer in Medium. Matches my skintone exactly; although I would prefer it to be slightly lighter. The packaging stinks so I transferred most of it into an empty Fit Me concealer tube. Been so easy for quick foundconcealing with some setting powder on top (Wet n Wild Photo Focus in Warm Beige).
Most used product of the week: Revlon ColorStay Brow pencil in Dark Brown. I’ve even used it on days I don’t wear any makeup.
Any new beauty discoveries?: hmm I guess I newly discovered I don’t like the PUR Epic Illusion face palette lol. The pan sizes are too small for bronzer/blush brushes that aren’t specific for contouring or angled.
Skin tone: Medium Warm (MAC NC 30)
Most loved product of the week: Clementine eyeshadow in the KVD Pastel Goth Palette
Most used product of the week: Lancome Teint Idole Ultra 24 hour foundation topped with Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Finish Skin Perfecting Micro Powder
New beauty discoveries: That I can wear a pastel orange matte eye shadow and it actually looks nice!
Someday I will bite the bullet and get the Charlotte Tilbury powder. It looks SOOO good! But $$$!
Skin tone/coloring: Very pale with cool undertones, like NW5-10
Most loved product of the week: Elizabeth Arden Eye Shadow Trios. The two palettes I have been using this week were “You Had Me at Merlot” and “Smokey Nights”.
Most used product of the week: I have worn the Cle de Peau foundation every day this week so that would have to be my most used.
New discoveries: Vince Camuto fragrance in Fiori. It is the perfect spring/summer scent.
I just looked them up and wow, are they gorgeous. I don’t know if I could stop at buying two. Beautiful shades that complement each other so well.
My skin tone/coloring: fair, cool
Most loved product of the week: L’Oreal Bronzed Taupe Infallible eyeshadow
Most used product of the week: L’Oreal Bronzed Taupe eyeshadow (I dug it out a few days ago, after not using it for ages and ages…I’d forgotten how terrific it is)
Any new beauty discoveries?: Tarte Wings eyeshadow (from the Make Believe In Yourself palette) – how great it looks on brown eyes, with some black or very dark liner smudged into my lashes. So simple and so pretty – it really makes for “sparkly” eyes.
Wings is very pretty!
My skin tone/coloring: Light, cool, don’t have a number. Brown eyes, salt & pepper hair
Most loved product of the week: Lorac Pirates of the Caribbean eye shadow palette
Most used product of the week: Ditto
Any new beauty discoveries?: Nothing in person, but I saw online swatches of all the new UD Basquiat products and I want that blush palette!
My skin tone/coloring: light to medium, warm undertones MAC NC 23ish/Giorgio Armani Lasting Silk 5.5/Tom Ford Linen or Bisque/Shiseido Synchro Skin Golden 3

Any new beauty discoveries?:
1. Chanel quad Eclatants – I had it organized/displayed and forgotten all about it until I read something about it in the comments. I’m so happy I got this! It is subtle but so pretty and a lovely mauve (on me), right up my alley.
2. Majestic Pure (Amazon) 24K Gold mask – this mask is nothing special by itself (for my normal to oily skin) until you do some peeling or enzyme/stripping masks, then it is a godsend. Leave it on for 20 minutes, wipe it away with a warm cloth and it calms everything down and your skin looks smooth, even-textured and has a subtle glow. You get a HUGE amount of product, too. I am just now starting to use my masks more and more and have just loaded up on a variety to try. I’m sure other cream or gel-based masks (rose, cucumber, aloe, etc.) would have a similar effect so I’m looking forward to playing with combinations. When I go to Las Vegas in the summer with my girlfriends, we always end up having an in-room spa day and this year I’m going to be sure to bring this gold one with me.
Forgot most loved and most used!
Most loved: Shiseido Future Solution LX Total Radiance Loose Powder – love this as a finishing powder. I go back and for between this and Guerlain Meteorites.
Most used: MAC Creme in Your Coffee, NARS Audacious lipsticks in Barbara and Brigitte – I’m trying to use them up (I don’t want it to turn) so I’ve been re-applying more often than I normally would.
My skin tone/coloring: NC15 w/some redness
Most loved product of the week: Milk Makeup Holographic Stick in Supernova (came in from my VIB order and it’s crazy but in a good way)
Most used product of the week: Lancome Matte Shaker in Magic Orange
Any new beauty discoveries?: in terms of use, the Milk Makeup Holographic Stick in Supernova, the Lancome Matte Shakers, the other stuff I got in the VIB sale, etc.
Skintone/coloring : light, NC 20, med brown hair and eyes
Most loved: Probably Clinique Cheek Pop in Heather Pop and Too Faced Bronzed & Poreless Matte Bronzer. Also Cera Ve Day lotion with spf 30. It doesn’t make my face greasy which is a rarity with sunblock / moisturizers
Most used: ABH Brow Wiz in Soft brown and Revlon Dramatic Definition Mascara in Blackest Black. I’m trying to downsize my mascara collection
New beauty discoveries : Benefit Cheek Parade and Hourglass Lip Stylo in Believer.
My skin tone/coloring: light/medium with warm undertones.
Most loved product of the week: Tarte Salt Lyfe.
Most used product of the week: It’s been a busy few days with not much sleep so Benefit Erase Paste!
Any new beauty discoveries?: I finally bought the Modern Renaissance palette during the VIB sale. Dunno why I waited so long!
My skin is light medium/medium neutral.
My most loved item is Colourpop flipper!!! It’s a gorgeous tangerine that brings my eye color to life! Sparkles and bright!
Most used Mac blush Fairly Precious as a highlighter over Mac Blush Dainty.
My beauty discovery is Smashbox Be Legendary Lipstick in Pretty Social a nudish baby pink. Seems kinda nice!
Happy weekend!
Lt-med coolish. KGD 013 and Nars honey concealer are new and seem good and fair (I always grump about concealer.). The question about the new foundation is, wtf about when I get tan? (live at the beach, love the ocean). 013 is the darkest coo shade…and it’s only light to medium? Maybe a darker warmer one, but KGD doesn’t go particularly dark. The misfortunes of chem sunscreen allergy. Virtually everything is out.
Loved/used: prob the bitecashew multistick. It was even decent on eyes. Gelato is a major go to,but only as blush. Really liking that set. The gloss is probably better for younger people, but works with min app. Discovery: I find the butter London m/u products better than expected. The COTY palette is one of those around-the-color palettes. There’s a darker green shimmer as well, with the other colors leaning plum (matte), beigey gold/warm ivory/beige browbone. The dk brown swatches much ashier than the pan looks. # 3 in the top row is interesting. Think it’s plummy rose gold, almost, but not quite a duochrome. A nice touch is that on the protector sheet, Greenery is printed over that shadow well. This palette looks kind of like the Kylie palette with that huh? Blue shade. A touch discordant. But the BL, with one oddish pop of a much brighter, more saturated warm/yellow green actually works well. It kind of telegraphs the combos pretty overtly, even without any of the namesake green at all! It would even be a good starter palette, disregarding the featured shade. If you cover greenery up, you see easy, peasy. As the brits say, it’s actually bloody brilliant.
My skin tone/coloring: NC15, NARS Sheer Glow in Gobi
Most loved product of the week: MAC CCB in Yellow Topaz (LE, unfortunately, but by the time I run out I’m sure there will be smth as good if not better). Best cream highlighter ever!
Most used product of the week: I reeeeally try to rotate, so it’s hard to name one apart from the categories where I do not need/want variety. Clarins Instant Concealer :))))) Always, cause I never have more than 2 different once on hand and the Shiseido stick I have is good, but it does not give as much coverage as the Clarins one does. MAC jumbo eyebrow pencil in Lingering.
Any new beauty discoveries?: Oh, yeah! Mad about Soft Frost highlighter, it will certainly be mine at some point. Also, really impressed by MAC Prep + Prime Essential Oils Grapefruit & Chamomile! Plump skin is the verdict.
