Viseart Rosé Edit Eyeshadow Palette Review & Swatches
Rosé Edit
Viseart Rosé Edit Edit Eyeshadow Palette ($39.00 for 0.28 oz.) is a new, permanent set of neutrals with pops of pink and lavender. The left half of the palette runs slightly cooler and contains all of the rosier hues, while the right half of the palette are the more typical, warmer neutrals. The palette contains mostly new shades–Peony, Wisteria, Rosette, Rose, Blossom, Truffle, and Splendor (though I’ve also marked Peche as “new” as it differed from the single). Most shades had semi-opaque to opaque color payoff, were blendable, and lasted around eight hours, but there were a few shades that had room for improvement (Wisteria, Rose, and Blossom).

Formula Overview
-
The eyeshadow formula is supposed to be "pigment[ed]" with "smooth and even application" that is "long-lasting." The matte shades are typically semi-opaque to opaque but buildable with soft, velvety textures that can sometimes be a little powdery or slightly firm, depending on the shade. I find that the mattes are often best suited to someone who likes control over pigmentation and may prefer to build up color; they regularly perform better in practice than just swatched on the arm as well.
The shimmer shades range from satin to metallic, and the more metallic shades tend to feel creamier to the touch, while the satin ones have a fine pearl to them that looks almost melted on the lid once blended out. Both the mattes and shimmers are blendable and easy to work with. Most of Viseart's eyeshadows wear between seven and nine hours on me.

Ballet (GPV1 #17)
Ballet (GPV1 #17) is a light-medium pink with subtle, warm undertones and a matte finish. It had a soft, blendable consistency that was a smidgen powdery in the pan. It had nearly opaque pigmentation that applied evenly but needed a primer to build up the coverage. It wore well for seven and a half hours on me before fading noticeably.

Peony (Rosé Edit)
Peony (Warm Edit) is a medium-dark, coral-orange with warm undertones and a matte finish. It had semi-opaque-, buildable color payoff that adhered evenly to bare skin and blended out with ease along the edges. The eyeshadow had a drier, thinner texture, though it didn’t sheer out too readily when I tried it. On me, it stayed on well for eight hours before I noticed any fading.

Chocolate
Chocolate is a deep, red-toned brown with neutral-to-warm undertones and a matte finish. The pigmentation was opaque, while the eyeshadow had a slightly firmer, drier texture, though it wasn’t stiff so I was still able to apply and blend it out without difficulty. It lasted nicely for eight and a half hours before there was visible fading.

Wisteria
Wisteria is a medium lavender with cool undertones and a frosted finish. It had semi-sheer pigmentation that was somewhat buildable, but I’d recommend using it with a wet brush for better adhesion and opacity from the get-go. The consistency was soft and felt drier to the touch, which resulted in some fallout during application. It wore well eight hours on me before fading noticeably.

Rosette
Rosette is a medium-dark berry pink with cool undertones and a matte finish. It had nearly opaque pigmentation in a single layer, which was easy to build up to the last bit with less than half of a layer on top. The texture was fairly soft, though it definitely didn’t feel as silky as most of the brand’s mattes have for me, but it blended out beautifully. The color stayed on well for eight and a half hours before fading visibly.

Peche (Rosé Edit)
PiPPermanent in Palette.
Rose
Rose is a medium-dark red with warm, orange undertones and a frosted finish. The consistency was soft but more loosely-pressed in the pan, so there was a bit of excess that kicked up in the pan. The eyeshadow applied with more semi-opaque, buildable coverage and slight fallout during the lay down process. It stayed on well for eight hours before I noticed fading.

Blossom
Blossom is a peachy coral with warm undertones and a sparkling, metallic sheen. It had good color coverage with a more loosely pressed consistency, so it felt a little drier and had a bit of fallout during application. On me, it lasted nicely for eight hours on me before fading a bit.

Truffle
Truffle is a medium brown with warm undertones and a sparkling, metallic sheen. The color payoff was opaque in one layer, which adhered evenly and smoothly to my skin without fallout. The texture was lightly creamy, firmer but not stiff to work with, and blendable. It wore well eight and a half hours on me before I noticed any fading.

Splendor
Splendor is a deep gold with warm undertones and a metallic sheen. It had opaque color coverage with a soft, more loosely-pressed texture, which felt particularly smooth and finely-milled. I felt like the softness made it easy to pick up more product than necessary, so I’d recommend using a lighter hand with this to avoid potential fallout. It stayed on well for eight and a half hours on me before it showed signs of w.ear

Not exactly Viseart’s best. This one just isn’t moving me, really. Although it could have, had there been better coordination of the shades, with more mauvey, cherry-chocolate and plummy shades included. Plus better quality on those more fun shades they did include. Wisteria makes me sad!
You said it. Spot on for what I was thinking. A pass for me as well.
Thanks for the review! Looks like I can pass on this, as i have dupes for all the shades except one.
The inclusion of yet another sextette of warm neutral shades is disappointing in a grouping that’s called out as rose – even aside from the fact that the other palette in this release was explicitly a warm palette! On the other hand, I did expect this to be worse than it is (there do seem to be 4 shades that genuinely fit the theme!) It is so so so so so easy to acquire warm neutrals that even people who like them probably have enough.
My sentiments exactly. When I see this preference for warm repeatedly dictating color choices in a palette, and doing stuff like filling either a lavender or a pink palette with a lot of browns, I begin to feel that the designer is designing for their own (or maybe their partner’s) coloring. And I basically give up on the brand and start tuning out their releases. I’ve purchased a lot Viseart in the past, but it’s been a while because of this problem.
Shame about Wisteria. I had been hoping for a plummier palette. This is still pretty, but I really don’t need more warm neutrals.
Amen to that, Rachel. Plummier could have reeled me in, too.
I love this! Every shade speaks to me.
One thing has me completely perplexed tho, Christine. Can you shed some light? Here’s the thing: The outer packaging of both the Rosé and Warm Edits say it’s .28oz, and everywhere I’ve seen this announced, previewed or reviewed also lists it at .28oz. I think this must be what Viseart states in their PR. So, in essence, $39 for the same amount as an ABH standard palette. Ok. BUT…the back sticker of the actual palette/product, lists the total amount of product at .42oz. Beautylish also lists it at .42oz. This makes it far more attractive to me for $39! Do you know, or do you have any best guesstimate, as to what the true amount might be? Thank you in advance!
I asked Viseart, but I haven’t heard back.
TYSM for reaching out, I appreciate it so much! Let us know if you hear back. <3
I ordered this one it looks beautiful should be a great companion to my Grand Pro’s.
This is a really unusual palette – on one hand you have the rosy shades and on the other you have chocolate neutrals….(which I don’t think belongs in this palette at all…). I don’t think the browny neutral shades fit – perhaps some soft greys, mid tone greys would have been a better contrast to those rosy pink shades. More plum shades too…
Thank you Christine for your review.
Actually, pinks and roses go extremely well with browns, especially warm ones, but it definitely makes the palette problematic for someone who is hoping to go entirely cool-toned.
Ha ha, it says 8g/0.28ox on the front of the box and 12g/0.42g on the back of the palette!
Are the pans the same size as the Petit Pros? If they are, I would assume the 12g/0.42oz is correct.
The colour selection is nice, if a bit unexciting.
Haven’t had time to check yet – that’s why your other comment asking me the same thing is still pending! Anything that requires me to go back and find physical product to check things can take me a bit longer to do!
I reached out to Viseart on the weekend but never heard back re: size.
Oops, I had completely forgotten that I’d already asked! They look the same to me but I was really just curious, so don’t worry too much about it!
i love the bold look you choose for this palette christine! could you tell me if rendezvous is the same as the one in tryst palette? thank you!
Yes.
Im glad I held off ordering the palette. I have dupes for the shades I’m interested in. Christine…nice job with the video.
