Too Faced Trampula & Too Too Hot Throw Back Lipsticks Reviews & Swatches
Trampula
Too Faced Trampula Throw Back Lipstick ($22.00 for 0.10 oz.) is a medium-dark bluish-purple with cool undertones and multi-colored pearl and larger sparkle and glitter. This was one of the worst shades in the line-up as it only had semi-sheer coverage, applied patchily, and the product gathered in my lip lines. It would work better over a lip liner or a deep lipstick as a layering product. The lipstick texture had a lot of slip and felt thinner, almost a bit oily, though it didn’t drag or tug when applied. It lasted for four and a half hours and left a faint, pink stain behind. The formula was lightly hydrating over time.

Formula Overview
$22.00/0.1 oz. - $220.00 Per Ounce
The formula is supposed to have "creamy, comfortable wear" with "full-coverage" pigmentation and a "multi-reflective glitter finish for high-pigment sparkle payoff." If you aren't a fan of glitter, just skip to the next lipstick formula, because this is for glitter lovers. Most of the shades had semi-opaque to opaque coverage with a few that had sheerer coverage. For as glitter-packed as they were, they felt creamy and smooth being applied and had minimal grittiness even as they wore away. They had average wear--around four hours--with some of the shades that were prone to staining lingering for closer to six hours. The formula was hydrating and easy to wear--these were the very definition of fun and so on-brand for Too Faced. They finally found a way to inject glitter in all of the ways and actually have it work pretty well.

Trampula
LELimited Edition. $22.00.
Too Too Hot
Too Faced Too Too Hot Throw Back Lipstick ($22.00 for 0.10 oz.) is a deep red with subtle, cool undertones and multi-colored pearl (mostly ruby) and slightly larger, fuchsia sparkle. It had a more metallic sheen than overtly glittery finish, which made it even smoother and creamier with opaque color coverage in a single layer. The texture was lightweight, emollient without being too slippery, and comfortable to wear over the five and a half hours it stayed on for. The color left a slight stain behind and was moisturizing while worn.

Wow, what a disappointment. Trampula was the only shade I was interested in but I ended up not buying it on launch day. And now I DEFINITELY won’t. Beautiful shade but there’s no point to having a patchy, sheer version of it.
Trampula…what a mess! Even though the color is very different, it reminds me of MAC’s On and On lipstick, a splotchy glitter bomb that I cluelessly bought a year or two ago, then returned in a Back-to-MAC it after just one wearing. Too Too Hot is really pretty, though.
CORRECTION:
then returned in a Back-to-MAC after just one wearing.
The 2nd one looks gorgeous on you! Wondering if I can pull this color off on my warmish, neutral skin tone. Love shimmer lipsticks, & this one got an A. I don’t go for those goth looking shades anyway, (1st one). Thanks so much for reviewing these.
Wow. Too too hot looks amazing! I do already have CP coquette and CP imagine so I think I’m covered here as far as glittery/metallic deep red.
Too, Too Hot looks like a winner! A really beautiful shimmery red is a hard thing to come by nowadays. I’m guessing this is why so few dupes for it. I didn’t think I would fall head over heels for it, but I just did!
Oy vey. Trampula. Awful in every level. Terrible name. Horrid application. Just a giant “NOPE”.
I got Too Too Hot. I think its utterly gorgeous. Such a shame about Trampula. It’s a shade that’s right up my alley, even if sheer, but that almost-oily feel sounds gross.
Too too hot is cute!
Too Too Hot is a glorious shade of red. Love it.
Too Too Hot looks Gorgeous!!! I was wondering how close it was to Urban Decay Singe? I just purchased that one and was wondering if I need both!!!
Trampula looks pretty too bad about the patchiness. Both are shiny pretty colors!
I love Too Too Hot, what a wonderful sparkly red! I haven’t bought anything from Too Faced in years, but this is so beautiful I may just have to get it.
Such a pity about the blue, it could have been a real winner, instead it’s just a big NO from me, it could look good as a topper, but I don’t like to layer lip products.
Completely off topic, I know, but I love your earrings in these pictures.
Thank you!
Why did Trampula get a 0 for longevity? It lasted four hours, didn’t it?
So sorry, Kali! That’s a typo. My stupidity is front and center!
No, not at all! That’s so easy to miss. Don’t call yourself stupid. You’re a review master.
