Wet 'n' Wild Water MegaGlo Highlighting Bar Review & Swatches
Water
Wet ‘n’ Wild Water MegaGlo Highlighting Bar ($6.99 for 0.30 oz.) is a pale, sky blue with subtle, cool undertones and a sparkling, metallic sheen. It had good color coverage that was buildable to full coverage with half of a layer on top of the first. The texture was soft, more loosely pressed and somewhat dusty in the pan with slightly chunky sparkle/shimmer within it. This one was a bit harder to blend out and diffuse the edges of on my skin; it applied less evenly initially and took some doing to get a decent spread of coverage across my cheek bones. The finish was beautiful, though, as it was reflective and luminous without emphasizing my skin’s natural texture. On me, the highlighter wore well for seven and a half hours before it started to wear away.

The formula is supposed to yield a "lit-from-within glow" that "delivers a strobing effect" with a "super-smooth" texture. All of the shades felt a little dusty, a bit dry, in the pan and by the touch, but they applied beautifully and sat well on my skin--they almost "melted" onto the skin for a very smooth, luminous sheen. The pigmentation ranged from medium to opaque, but the ones that weren't full coverage were buildable. They lasted between seven and eight hours on me.

Ok, I have to admit that I don’t really get this product. To my eye, it looks like a bruise on the cheek. BUT, it looks like it would be fun to use as part of a cool-toned eye look.
This is so Monet! Almost a who-needs-to-use-it-just-look-at-it product. We expect that from Chanel, Terry, Chantecaille, but WnW? I suspect seeing this IRL would force a purchase, lol.
Sadly, this is not a shade of blue I can easily wear. Not on my face, not even in a dress or a top unless it is part of a print. Light cool-toned shades look like death on me. Otherwise, I would get this for the very cool looking pattern and use it as an eyeshadow!
Not sure of the color but the texture is nice.
I love the design, reminds me of Monet water lily paintings, and I love the color, just not sure if I can pull it off. Also wish it was a smaller size, easier to store
I ordered this one. It’s much more opaque blue than I was expecting, but I like that. 🙂
I wore this and I’m very fair. My coworkers thought my face was bruised. The blue pigment showed well but not the glow?
Wow, it looks so gray on the skin. I was expecting a light blue… It looks fairly silver in the swatch, but when blended out it just looks like gray. Definetely not something I’m interested :/
It looks so pretty in the pan but I buy makeup to use it, not just to look at it and this looks not so good applied – again, it’s the bruised look that doesn’t really play well for me in my daily life.
It seems from the photos that it changes with how the light falls on the face.
I must admit I like it, I’m not sure I could pull it off though. I imagine that it could look really pretty and interesting on a bright summer day, reflecting with a, -huh, what? from the few who might notice it.
The big con is the blending. I just want to sweep the highlighter on with a fan brush and be ready, not having to do much blending.
It is however a product I could buy just to sit at the vanity (when I get one) looking pretty.
That example of application over blush would be ideal for someone with pale, cool skin, though I also like it on you. I already have two blue highlighters, but they’re less icy blues, and each has a definite “shift” in their shimmer (one shifts green, he other shifts warm gold), so I don’t need this. Even if I were in the market for a blue highlighter, I wouldn’t get one that had “slightly chunky sparkle/shimmer” — deal breaker.
