Tom Ford Rougir & Universel Lumiere Lips Reviews & Swatches
Rougir
Tom Ford Beauty Rougir Lumiere Lip ($55.00 for 0.10 oz.) is a translucent pink that looked like a barely-tint of pink that gave my lips a soft sheen. I find this type of product harder to review, as they look similar across the shades and, to some degree, depend on one’s natural lip color, but it doesn’t seem like the type of product where the shade itself matters much. The texture was lightweight, balm-like but not too slippery, and comfortable to wear, but it the comfort and hydration lasted less than two hours and never felt like it nourished over the long term–like it only felt hydrating while worn.

Formula Overview
$55.00/0.1 oz. - $550.00 Per Ounce
The formula is described as "translucent" and is a "lip balm [that] reacts to the wearer's pH" so that it has a "personalized wash of color." In my experience, a lot of products that are supposed to react to the pH all end up pretty similar when applied and are very subtle in difference, if at all, when applied to my lips. They live up to the translucent part of the spiel, but they have really short wear time--an hour or two before it feels gone--and not that much hydration. I actually really love Tom Ford's Lip Balm (in a squeeze tube), but these just fell short for me. They had a very subtle vanilla scent but no discernible taste.

Rougir
LELimited Edition. $55.00.
Universel
Tom Ford Beauty Universel Lumiere Lip ($55.00 for 0.10 oz.) appeared as a translucent peach when swatched, and it seemed to add a smidgen of warmth to my natural lip color but it was hard to tell. From a normal viewing distance, it looked the same as most of the other shades in the range, though this was the original shade that launched (and then spawned three more this season). It had a lightweight, balm-like consistency that felt emollient but wasn’t thick, heavy, or too slippery on my lips. The product was comfortable to wear and felt like it kept my lips hydrated while it was on, but after wearing the formula back-to-back, my lips didn’t feel hydrated after it wore down. The shine lasted for an hour and a half (and it lost its comfort by that point).

IMO, Dior Lip Glows are the best on the market.
I agree!
These seem so pointless actually. Almost no color changing. Not a moisturizing, nourishing balm, either. Just like taking a $50 bill down the toilet, because there are the $5 variety that do more than these. ?
I think Colour Pop lipsticks are much better value than these and the shades are not even unique or that great for the money.
There are countless drugstore options better than this (that actually feel like they nourish).
As an aside, they do give your lips the exactly right nude look for the face palette you’re wearing in the photos. I know that’s supposed to be a Winter palette, but it’s giving me strong Spring vibes (possibly because grey is a very Spring color where I live).
Reads more spring than winter to me – almost a little too… dusty? for winter, though I guess dryness = winter but the faded quality reminds me more of spring.
It’s like you’re paying $55 for nothing… easy pass. /:
