The Best & Worst of the MAC x PatrickStarrr Slay Ride Collection

MAC x PatrickStarrr Slay Ride Collection includes an assortment of products for eyes, cheeks, and lips, but what’s worth your time?  It’s no surprise that MAC created a stunning blue-based red with Slay Ride, but they’ve often released this type of shade throughout the years (and have some stunning similar shades in the permanent range).  I thought Omigaud It’s Gold and PatrickStarrr Pigments were gorgeous, but if you’re not into loose eyeshadows, they’re not so special that they’ll change your mind.

Did anything catch your eye in this collection?

We appreciate enthusiasm for new releases but ask readers to please hold questions regarding if/when a review will be posted as we can't commit to or guarantee product reviews. We don't want to set expectations and then disappoint readers as even products that are swatched don't always end up being reviewed due to time constraints and changes in priorities! Thank you for understanding!

I really like the look of Omigaud It’s Cold and also the highlighter (but that’s just in the abstract – I don’t think it’s a good colour for me). I may pick up Omigaud It’s Cold though but I’m still a bit on the fence since I’ve got so many “non-spillable” dupes.

I am so tempted by Silent Night. However, when I saw that the Raver Girl lipglass in Deep Set is extremely similar and I believe has more product in it, I feel I’ll go for that one instead. I love the blue sparkle of Silent Night though, the swatches are freaking gorgeous.
I think I prefer how Deep Set looks on the lips in comparison, but I do wonder how Silent Night would look over a lipstick. Ugh. I can’t decide!

It’s interesting to see the two just released collections together – Colour Pop and MAC.
MAC’s collection is more than half the size, yet it still manages to garner a far greater percentage of average scores.
Slay Ride is a lovely shade and I do think it is the best product in the collection.
