Silent Night

MAC Silent Night Dazzleglass ($20.00 for 0.06 oz.) is a medium, plummy-purple tinted base with flecks of blue and violet sparkle and micro-glitter. It had a medium-level of sparkle and medium coverage from the base. For this type of shade, it applied fairly evenly with only minimal product getting into my lip lines, which was camouflaged by the sparkle and shine of the finish. The consistency was light-medium in thickness, tacky but fairly spreadable. It wore well for five hours and was lightly hydrating over time.

Formula Overview

$20.00/0.06 oz. - $333.33 Per Ounce

The formula is supposed to have "medium coverage" with a "non-sticky, lightweight and moisturizing" texture that can be worn "alone" or over another lip color. They are vanilla-scented like most of the brand's lip products. The coverage can vary from shade to shade but most Dazzleglasses are semi-sheer to medium in coverage with light to moderate amounts of larger sparkles. They usually have a mix of finer pearl and larger sparkle/micro-glitter in them, though the consistency is thicker and helps prevent the feeling of glitter on the lips. The one thing I find to be untrue about their claims is with respect to tackiness--Dazzleglasses are absolutely tacky and moderately at that. Most shades last between four and six hours and are lightly hydrating.

Twerk for Gifts

MAC Twerk for Gifts Dazzleglass ($20.00 for 0.06 oz.) is a medium, golden peach with warm undertones and multi-colored micro-sparkle and finer, gold pearl. It had semi-sheer color coverage that applied without streaking, but it did pull into my lip lines noticeably. The shiny finish coupled with the shimmer helped distract from the settling but not entirely. The gloss had a smooth, spreadable consistency that was light-medium in thickness (which helped it feel smooth on my lips, even when I pressed my lips together) but was moderately tacky. It stayed on nicely for four and a half hours and was lightly moisturizing while worn.

Night is beautiful but…I really dislike Patrickstarr…never a big YouTube follower, I heard of his drama through my lifelong hairdresser and his drag queen friends who used to do me up for Halloween. I just can’t out of principle support him. Just like LimeCrime.

Years ago, Lancôme had this gorgeous blue, Caribe, in the Juicy gloss tube. The blue glitter reminds me of this. I was sad it went away. I have an enormous lip gloss collection with actual duplicates to place in different rooms in my house and work laptop bag. That color would have been in every single one.

Twerk reminds me of Oh Baby and while not a dupe to the discerning eye, it satisfies my love for that type of gloss coloring. And not giving that mean dude any support. Just my opinion.
