MAC x PatrickStarrr Peachy Peter, Spank Me Santa, Slay Ride Lipsticks Reviews & Swatches
Spank Me Santa
MAC Spank Me Santa Lipstick ($18.50 for 0.10 oz.) is a medium, rosy plum with warmer undertones and a satin finish. It had rich color coverage in a single layer, which applied evenly and didn’t tug or drag on my lips during application. The texture was lightweight, firmer in the tube but had enough creaminess to be comfortable to apply. The color stayed on well for five hours and was neither drying nor hydrating on me.

MAC Lipstick comes in a variety of finishes, and the pigmentation and wear tend to be dependent on the finish. The sheer finishes, like Lustres, tend to wear for only a couple of hours and have sheer coverage (as designed) and are non-drying.
Some of the original Matte shades have a stiffer, drier formula, while newer ones have a more velvety, silicone-feel to them, and the latter are creamier, more comfortable to wear, and easier to apply, but most Matte shades are quite pigmented and long-wearing, though some are drying.
The Amplified and Satin finishes tend to have good pigmentation, lightly creamy to moderately creamy consistencies with a bit of shine, and moderate to long wear with deeper, richer shades wearing longer. The Frost and Metallic finishes have the most variance between shades with coverage ranging from semi-sheer to opaque with average wear and non-drying to slightly drying formulas. All MAC lipsticks are vanilla-scented but have no discernible taste.

Peachy Peter
MAC Peachy Peter Lipstick ($18.50 for 0.10 oz.) is a light peach with warm undertones and a matte finish. It had nearly opaque color payoff that applied fairly evenly, though the product seemed to gather a bit in my lip lines. It wasn’t too noticeable from a normal viewing distance, luckily. The texture was lightweight, a bit drier and firmer in the tube that gave it a chalkier feel as it tugged a bit while I applied it. It wore well for four hours but settled further into my lip lines over time and was non-drying.

Slay Ride
MAC Slay Ride Lipstick ($18.50 for 0.10 oz.) is a rich, medium-dark red with strong, cool blue undertones and a satin finish. It had excellent pigmentation with opaque coverage delivered in a single stroke. The lipstick glided easily across my lips but never felt too slippery, which helped keep it in place as I experienced no feathering or bleeding over time. The consistency was lightweight, thin without being clingy, and had enough creaminess to apply comfortably. This shade was still going strong after six hours of wear and was lightly hydrating over time.

I normally don’t give a shit about makeup names one way or another, but Spank Me Santa? Hell no.
Right? I really like the colour but there is no way I’ll buy a lipstick called Spank Me Santa because one of my friends or relatives will ask me what shade I’m wearing and there are some things I don’t want say in front of my grandma.
I know!!! It’s a pretty color but I just can’t deal with that name ? I mean really….
I couldn’t agree more!
I really don’t like the names of a couple of these lipsticks. But the two A-rated shades are very pretty.
Slay Ride is such a gorgeous red. I ended up getting ordering it.
The only one here that either I don’t own 3 dupes for or that would make me look like I bit into a powdered donut would be Slay Ride. And I do love that it runs deeper than the average blue-red! Gives it that wintry Snow White vibe, which looks so glam!
A deeper blue red – that’s what sold me. And it leans cooler. There was a dark, blue-red lipstick shade I had in the 90’s and is now long gone, but I haven’t found any shade that comes close — always a little off. I’m hoping this works!
I love Spank Me Santa shade, but it may be too mortifying for me to own a lipstick with that name…lol. or maybe not!
You have to just hope no one asks you what shade you’re wearing! 😉
Right, indeed. A gent..semi-hot older gent complimented mine the other night, and asked the color. It’s Nars Do It, I said, with a straight face. Somehow I knew I needed an alternative for Do Me Baby. I ALWAYS fluff the names or just say the brands…and it’s planned in advance, as the public almost always comments. I would get fired at day job just for saying TF’s Too Fucking Fabulous! Not that I sprang for it, lol.
Patrick/MAC please leave Christmas alone, “Spank Me Santa” for a shade name? Pretty shades but I have a million of them.
Christine, the look you featured in “A Smoky Gold & Copper Look featuring MAC Oh, Holy Eyes” combining Spank Me with Peachy Peter topped with Twerk for Gifts is so stunning that I immediately had to try to duplicate it, and I found that NARS velvet glides in Vault and Unlaced with MAC Nefertiti do so almost perfectly, which saves me from buying two lipsticks I could never wear well in order to create one beautiful color I can! So thanks for the inspiration!
Slay Ride is a great shade, but Spank Me Santa? – seriously MAC you need to grow up.
I love these colors. Not in love with the names, but then again, I’m glad one can just peel that off.
I LOVE Peachy Peter, and the other shade names in the collection are fitting to Patrick’s tongue in cheek extravagance! Lighten up.
