Omigaud It's Gold

MAC Omigaud It’s Gold Pigment ($21.00 for 0.15 oz.) is a dirty, deep gold with warm, brownish undertones and a sparkling, metallic finish. It had medium, buildable coverage when used dry, and if opacity was wanted, I’d recommend using it with a dampened brush. The consistency was loose, finely-milled, and fairly easy to work with as the powder pressed onto bare skin well with just a touch of fallout. I was able to build and blend out the loose product on my lid without a fuss. It lasted well for eight hours regardless of whether I applied it dry or wet.

PatrickStarrr

MAC PatrickStarrr Pigment ($21.00 for 0.15 oz.) is a medium copper with warm, rusty undertones and a sparkling sheen. It had medium, buildable coverage when applied dry, which applied evenly and blended out nicely along the edges. When I used it with a dampened brush, it had richer, more opaque coverage in a single layer and had a more pearly finish with flecks of larger micro-sparkle apparent. The texture was finely-milled and sat well on my skin with minimal fallout during application. It wore well for eight hours both wet and dry.

Twinkling Lights

MAC Twinkling Lights Pigment ($21.00 for 0.15 oz.) is a light-medium copper with strong, warm gold shimmer and a sparkling, metallic finish. It had a slightly drier, chunkier consistency that made it harder to use dry, as it had a tendency to sheer out and have fallout during application. When I used it with a dampened brush (just with water), the powder became more unified and yielded opaque coverage with a smoother sheen, which made it a lot easier to work with. The edges were blendable both wet and dry, though. It stayed on well for six hours dry and eight hours when applied with a dampened brush.

Ah! You made nearly the same eyelook as Mel Thompson (aka Puffin’s Wife, though she changed her online name) ! Like very nearly the same! I love how smart minds think alike! I mean, when I saw a green/purple pallete, I thought… how would you work them together? There’s definitely ways! But I was a little stumped. But you both used the gold pigment on the lid for a smokey look, and I think it works great!

I’ve been waiting for the review of Omigawd It’s Cold and as much as I have issues with pigments (mostly to do with how easy it is to knock over the whole darned container) and even though I have Tarte Shakedown (it’s such a beautiful product), I might still pick up this beauty!

If it’s any help, I spilled one on my desk and dropped most of one jar in my lap, so… they are still… knockable. Though I’m having dexterity issues this week, because I’ve also broken three plates/glasses, bruised myself in half a dozen places from walking into walls/corners, etc. I don’t really recall having THAT much difficulty keeping one jar upright before, LOL.

Oh dear – sorry to hear you are breaking stuff. I have a friend who is famous (infamous) for knocking the bowls off the stems of all our wine glasses (we’ve joked that from now on, she’s getting a plastic “sippy cup”). I remember the “old” MAC pigment jars which were bad enough but they were more wide and “squat”. Maybe I’ll just make do with my pressed shadows or perhaps I’ll ask for a sample when I’m next at MAC (I’ve had samples of a few pigments in past and I never even finish those! So maybe a full jar is more than I need!)

PatrickStarrr is the one for me. It looks like a delightful shade for a gorgeous coppery glow!
As for the dryness in the 3rd shade, I have to mention that a few YT’ers have mentioned that the formula on these pigments feels and applies *very* differently from MAC’s previous pigments, so I held off from ordering until I could get a confirmation one way or the other concerning this new issue. Since you only got one faulty shade, I will go for PatrickStarrr.
