Raspberry Kiss

Sydney Grace Raspberry Kiss 9-Pan Bundle ($33.00 for 0.54 oz.) is a new, permanent bundle that features nine shades across pink and plum tones. There are four mattes and five shimmers in the set, and all of the shades performed well: they were pigmented, blendable, and long-wearing. They also coordinated well together, and I could see several different combinations from the set (though they will all be on the plummy side!).

Laughter

Laughter is a lighter, almost peachy pink with strong, warm undertones and a matte finish. It had semi-opaque, buildable color payoff that applied well to bare skin and blended out with ease. The consistency was soft, smooth, and silky without being too powdery nor too firmly pressed in the pan. It stayed on nicely for eight hours on me before fading a bit.

Formula Overview

$5.25/0.06 oz. - $87.50 Per Ounce

The matte eyeshadows tend to be pigmented (typically semi-opaque or opaque, often buildable if they aren't opaque) with a soft, more velvety texture that has slight slip but isn't so thick that it gets difficult to use, applies unevenly, or has a lot of fallout. I've found that most of the matte eyeshadows apply and blend out without much effort but a few may take a bit more effort to diffuse along the edges. The matte formula tends to wear between eight and eight and a half hours on me.

Treasure All

Treasure All is a muted, rosy brown with warm undertones and a semi-matte finish. The pigmentation was opaque in a single layer, while the texture was soft, silky, and smooth without being too soft that it became prone to powderiness. This shade wore well for eight hours on me before fading noticeably.

Trust

Trust is a medium plum with strong, warm undertones and a semi-matte finish. There were fine, gold micro-shimmers throughout, which seemed to help keep the shade blendable but didn’t impact the finish as it looked matte in practice. It had rich pigmentation with a soft, blendable texture that was silky and finely-milled without being powdery. It lasted well on my eye for eight hours before showing signs of wear.

Keep Smiling

Keep Smiling is a medium-dark, plummy brown with neutral-to-warm undertones and a mostly matte finish. It had good pigmentation that was buildable to full coverage with less than half of a layer more. The texture was soft, a little dusty in the pan, but it applied well to bare skin without sheering out too readily and wasn’t prone to fallout. It stayed on well for eight hours on me before I noticed any fading.

Aim High

Aim High is a pale pink with strong,w arm undertones and a pearly sheen–it had a strong sheen but wasn’t quite metallic. The shimmer in this shade was extremely finely-milled, and I wish we saw more shades in this finish (in general). The texture was like silk; smooth, lightly creamy, and flattering on the lid as it “melted” onto my skin. It wore well for eight and a half hours on me creasing faintly.

FURTHER READING: Formula Overview for details on general performance and characteristics (like scent).

Formula Overview

$6.25/0.06 oz. - $104.17 Per Ounce

The shimmer eyeshadows are more consistent in pigmentation with the majority of shades having opaque color coverage. The more metallic/sparkly the shade is, the creamier and more emollient the eyeshadow felt in the pan, which often yielded really smooth application and good adherence to the lid, though a few worked better with a fingertip or a dampened brush for true-to-pan color or to get a truer finish/sheen.

Most shades, however, worked well with brushes, and I didn't have trouble applying or blending out most of the shimmer shades. The more satin to pearl like finishes tend to feel a little thinner but blend out well. These shades wore between eight and nine hours on me with some of the more foiled-like shades creasing noticeably at the end (and the less foiled-like ones fading).

Shine Bright

Shine Bright is a medium-dark pink with strong, warm undertones and a bright, highly-reflective metallic finish. It was intensely pigmented with a smooth, creamy texture that had noticeable slip on my skin, which worked best with a flat, synthetic brush or a fingertip for application. The color lasted well for eight hours on me before I noticed faint creasing.

Be Kind

Be Kind is a rich, darker plum with warm, brown undertones and slightly less-warm pink and plum shimmer that gave it a metallic finish. The texture was incredibly soft, creamy, and dense without being too thick or too firmly pressed in the pan. It had intensely pigmented that applied beautifully to bare skin and blended out with ease. It stayed on nicely for eight hours on me before creasing slightly.

Role Model is a bright, medium plum with subtle, warm undertones and a pearly sheen. The eyeshadow had excellent color payoff in a single pass, which applied well to bare skin and blended out nicely along the edges. It had a smooth, firmer consistency that needed a slightly firmer hand to pick up evenly with a brush. This shade wore well for eight and a half hours on me before I noticed slight fading.

I have so many eyeshadows in this range because it works so well for my colouring, but given the plethora in stash, I’m still super jacked for this palette. Aim High is one of my favs of the swatches here as well as Be Kind and Role Model.

Xamyx (Amy): If you catch this post, you popped into my mind this morning when I was doing my makeup. I read your post somewhere this week about UD 24/7 pencils and wondered if you have tried Melt brand. The colour Bloodshot is gorgeous. UD 24/7 do stay on fairly decently, but the texture is certainly far waxier than any other brand I frequently use so I have to push harder which annoys me. The only 24/7 I have in stash that I actually use is Love Drug because it’s in the same family as Melt Bloodshot, but a bit more muted and cooler.

Yay! Beautiful and well-performing. Thanks for getting swatches (and the gorgeous eye looks) up before the SG sale went live, Christine. It helped me to plan my purchase strategically.

This is what a well toned palette should look like, each of the shades quite distinct from one another and perfectly accentuated.
Be Kind and Shine Bright were my favourite, stand out shades from this bundle.
A superb job, as usual, Christine to get this up so quickly.

Wow. This is so pretty. I skipped the day of the sale when this was the free gift because I thought I wanted the green bundle more, but now I’m wondering if I should have shopped that day instead. I think the bundle is on sale today, but I’m trying to be on a low buy. Since it’s permanent, maybe I’ll wait and get it later. So much makeup, so little money. ?

I feel like Sydney Grace pinks lean very warm. I wish they would come out with more cool toned pinks. This bundle is still beautiful though.

Beautiful. I don’t need this… I don’t need this… I don’t need this… I really… really… really don’t need this. ????

MAC discontinued Plum Dressing!?!?! Why! It’s such a lovely eyeshadow!
Sorry for that, I just couldn’t believe it, and had to read it three times.
This bundle looks so pretty and the quality is there, I really want it, I have to (almost) sit on my hansd right now to stop me from ordering it.
I thought I’d have close dupes for all the shades, but it seems I only have one or two, at least of the ones listed, one of them the aforementioned Plum Dressing.
I’ll have to really think about this one, but I have to be very strict with the low buy after having had my basement flooded, not all that bad, but I have to get it fixed, and I just had an alarm system installed. So little money, so many expenses and so many temptations! 🙂
