Shiseido Incense, J-Pop, Woodblock VisionAiry Lipsticks Reviews & Swatches
Incense (209)
Shiseido Incense (209) VisionAiry Gel Lipstick ($26.00 for 0.05 oz.) is a brighter, medium-dark peachy-coral with strong, warm undertones and a cream finish. The color payoff was good in one layer, though the color could have applied more evenly along the edges. There was slight, but visible, streaking apparent that I just couldn’t seem to correct.
The lipstick had a lightweight, creamy, and fluid texture that skated across my lips initially. It felt like it had a lot of slip but it set a bit within the first minute or so where it developed light tackiness and some of that slip disappeared. It wore well for five hours but had a bit of product that continued to settle into my deeper lip lines over time, though it was lightly hydrating.

Formula Overview
$26.00/0.05 oz. - $520.00 Per Ounce
The formula is supposed to have "high levels of pigment" for "cushiony, comfortable, weightless color" that lasts for "six hours." They had rich color coverage in a single stroke, just as promised, and they were creamy and emollient, which made them comfortable and easy to apply on my lips.
The formula has a slight set to it where it is less emollient and clings slightly (but not uncomfortably), so it loses some of the initial slip, which ultimately helps keep the product in place better and for longer. Over time (about an hour or so), the shine wore down a bit and the consistency felt a little tackier, but most of the shades lasted for six to eight hours and some of the mid-tone and deeper shades made it through a meal adequately.
The formula remained comfortable to wear, kept my lips hydrated while worn but they often felt quite good even a few hours later after a shade wore down. There was no discernible scent or taste.
The biggest downside to the product is that each tube contains a mere 0.05 oz., which is absolutely tiny relative to most traditional lipsticks (contrast this with the also-just released ModernMatte lipstick, which is the same price but contains 0.14 oz.).

J-Pop (210)
Shiseido J-Pop (210) VisionAiry Gel Lipstick ($26.00 for 0.05 oz.) is a medium-dark, pink-coral with moderate, warm undertones and a satin finish. The lipstick yielded semi-opaque pigmentation in one layer, which didn’t build up much beyond that.
The texture felt lightweight, creamy, and smooth as it glided easily across my lips, though there was a touch of product that sank into my deeper lip lines but wasn’t enough to be noticeable in person. The color could have applied a bit more evenly, too. It lasted well for four and a half hours and felt lightly moisturizing while worn.

Woodblock (212)
Shiseido Woodblock (212) VisionAiry Gel Lipstick ($26.00 for 0.05 oz.) is a medium brown with strong, warm yellowish undertones and a satin finish. It had excellent pigmentation that applied evenly and smoothly across my lips without tugging.
The lipstick had a lightweight consistency that felt creamy and smooth during application, and while it had a fair amount of slip initially, it developed a bit of tackiness within the first few minutes of wear that helped the product adhere quite well over the long haul. The color stayed on nicely for five and a half hours and felt lightly moisturizing over time.

Since J-Pop is is deeper than MAC French Silk, I don’t think it would be wrong for me to have both. Especially since I lost my Nyx Ever SLP somewhere in my move. That lip pencil saved French Silk from looking too bright and too pale on me. Probably more intelligent for me to hunt down another Ever pencil… Perhaps not, though. This formula looks way better!
These are beautiful to look at, but none of these Shiseido lipsticks have been in tones that work for me.
Beautiful lipsticks and I think Woodstock would be my favourite. I do have a slightly better dupe in Cinnamon from CP, which I haven’t used that much. I think I will give that one a go.
