Shiseido Dusky Honey, Rose Syrup, Amber Afternoon Rouge Rouge Lipsticks Reviews, Photos, Swatches
Dusky Honey (BE323)
Shiseido Dusky Honey (BE323) Rouge Rouge Lipstick ($28.00 for 0.14 oz.) is a medium-dark, peachy brown with warm, orange undertones and a semi-matte finish. It had good color coverage in a single stroke, though the texture was prone to separating around my lip lines and later on, the color settled into them as the color wore on. The texture felt more velvety and silicone-heavy than particularly wet or cream-like, so I was surprised it didn’t smooth out my lips more. This shade stayed on well for four hours and was lightly moisturizing.

Rose Syrup (BR721)
Shiseido Rose Syrup (BR721) Rouge Rouge Lipstick ($28.00 for 0.14 oz.) is a medium, taupe brown with subtle, warm undertones and a mostly matte finish. The pigmentation was nearly opaque in one pass of the lipstick. It had a smooth, velvety texture that didn’t feel wet or slippery but still slid easily across the lips without tugging on them during application. The color applied evenly, and there was a faint amount of color that sat in my deeper lip lines in the close-up photo but I couldn’t detect that in person. It wore well four and a half hours and was lightly hydrating.

Amber Afternoon (BR322)
Shiseido Amber Afternoon (BR322) Rouge Rouge Lipstick ($28.00 for 0.14 oz.) is a muted, medium brown with warm, rosy undertones and a semi-matte finish. It had opaque color coverage in a single layer with a smooth, velvety texture that had moderate slip but never felt wet or slippery on the lips. The formula glided on without tugging, felt lightly hydrating, and lasted for five hours on me.

Rose Syrup and Amber Afternoon are quite beautiful, but wouldn’t really add anything new to my collection. So, money saved!
Phew!
Hi Christine, I was interested in purchasing some of these lipsticks during the Sephora sale but the entire Rouge Rouge line is gone from Sephora online. Any idea what happened?
Brands don’t typically send any info regarding changes to their line-up at a retailer, and I don’t usually get any info from Shiseido either. I’m very sorry!
No worries! Thanks for responding. You know what’s funny is that these lipsticks still show up in my Sephora “loves” list as “not available for sale in your country”. ??♀️
That is interesting… it looks like Shiseido’s makeup is mostly out of stock on Sephora? Not that there’s much, but they seem like they’ve pulled most of the color cosmetics – I got few products that didn’t load up product pages, and the ones I did, all shades were out of stock! I bought these from Macy’s, which still seems to be selling the full range, though.
It looks like Sephora may no longer be carrying Shiseido, at least color, like Ulta only carries their skincare.
Mmmm, these toasty brown shades are my jam lately! And these are truly beautiful shades in that realm! I do wish that Dusky Honey didn’t have such a weird formulation, because I love how it looks. Obvs have a super close dupe for Amber Afternoon in Royally Riotous. One has begun to turn stinky, one is in my refrigerator, LoL!
I love Rose Syrup!
I am glad Rose Syrup worked for you, I had a miserable time with it — dry, flaky, uncomfortable, I wound up literally peeling it off my lips partway through the day at work. In retrospect I wonder if it didn’t like being layered with my lip primer (UD Ozone), some mattes don’t, but I didnt keep it long enough to find out.
Hi Christine, how simiral Rose Syrup is to urban decay’s vice lipstick in oblivion?

Rose Syrup is nice, I’m not sure I could wear it but it’s really a perfect version of the taupe lip for warmer folks!
