Shiseido Rouge Rouge Lipstick
Shiseido Bloodstone (RD503) Rouge Rouge Lipstick ($28.00 for 0.14 oz.) is a deep red with subtle, warm undertones and fine, ruby red pearl. It had rich, opaque color payoff that applied beautifully–it yielded even, smooth coverage that didn’t emphasize lip lines. The texture was lightly creamy, smooth, and comfortable to apply and to wear. This shade wore well for seven hours on me, left behind a stain, and was moisturizing. YSL Black Red (71) (LE, $38.00) is warmer (90% similar). NARS Shirley (P, $34.00) is darker (95% similar). Sephora Hong Kong by Night (27) (P, $8.00) is more shimmery (90% similar). Shiseido Rose Crush (RD715) Rouge Rouge Lipstick ($28.00 for 0.14 oz.) is a muted, medium-dark rosy plum with warm undertones and a creamy, lightly glossy finish. The consistency was smooth, creamy, and glided on without tugging on the lips, but it wasn’t too heavy or too thin, so it sat well on the lips and wore well. The formula yielded opaque coverage that lasted for five hours on me, and it was hydrating while worn. Hourglass Inventor (P, $32.00) is brighter, cooler (90% similar). Bobbi Brown Soft Berry (DC, $37.00) is warmer (95% similar). MAC Finally Free (LE, $19.00) is lighter, cooler (90% similar). Bobbi Brown Soft Berry (P, $40.00) is less shimmery, cooler (90% similar). Shiseido Red Queen (RD716) Rouge Rouge Lipstick ($28.00 for 0.14 oz.) is a soft, medium-dark pinky-plum with warm undertones and a soft sheen. It is pinker (and cooler, as a result, but it still leaned warmer) compared to Rose Crush. It had nearly opaque pigmentation that applied with even, smooth coverage due to the lightweight, creamy (but not slippery!) consistency. This shade stayed on well for almost five hours and was moisturizing to wear. Hourglass Inventor (P, $32.00) is warmer (95% similar). Chanel Rose Violine (P, $37.00) is warmer (95% similar). FORMULA OVERVIEW | Shiseido Rouge Rouge Lipstick ($28.00 for 0.14 oz.) is described as a vibrant, long-wearing, and hydrating lipstick available in 16 shades inspired by red. The pigmentation varied from semi-opaque to fully opaque with a lightweight, lightly creamy consistency that wasn’t too thin or too thick, so it sat well on the lips and made mine appear smoother. The colors applied evenly on the lips and didn’t drag as the texture is very smooth and emollient enough to have a soft sheen but not enough to slide around easily. The formula lasted anywhere from four to eight hours, which was nicely hydrating.

Definitely crushing on Rose Crush <3
Aww!
I’ve had my eye on Rose Crush and your review really sealed the deal for me! So pretty
Let me know if you try it, Ashley!
Wow, Bloodstone is a stunner!
It is!
Bloodstone is such a gorgeous color love the pearl sheen it has.
The finish is fab!
Wow, all gorgeous! It’s interesting how close Rose Crush and Red Queen are. Seems like Shiseido does these midtone colors really well, makes them very wearable but not boring at all. Rose Crush is on my must buy list !
Yeah, the range is definitely “wearable” if anything! I don’t think I’ll be expecting anything too out-of-the-box from Shiseido any time soon, but I hope they’ll expand the formula into some lighter and deeper shades.
These are stunning. I never thought I’d want to justify buying more red lipstick, but the formula sounds so nice!
I’ve been enjoying it a lot! I even took two shades with me on a recent weekend trip 🙂
Rose Crush and Red Queen look like exact dupes on my screen – strange that a brand would launch a new formula with two shades that are so similar – but it’s such a pretty color! I have to add it to my very long lipstick wish list!
They are more similar than not for sure!
Wow! Another perfect trio of lipsticks!
While I adore Bloodstone (may replace Rouge Tentation!), I am really digging Rose Crush and Red Queen! Both look so easily wearable for a more everyday type of lip shade. Especially Rose Crush! It and that Smashbox Safe Word and Nars Apoline all have my name written all over them. ?
Only my checking acc’t is complaining and weeping! ?
Well, at least a lot of the ones on your list are permanent 🙂
I love the sheen/pearl on these. Even the two that don’t have very obvious pearl, they seem to have a really fine shimmer.
Me too! The finish is beautiful on the formula.
I love seeing a brand I haven’t tried in ages putting out great new items. There are so many in their red lips to try, I look forward to my next visit to their counter.
I hope you find one you love, AB!
Red Queen will be mine!!!
Enjoy, CeeBee!
Shiseido is seriously an underrated brand! I lovvveee their lipcolors, especially Perfect Rouge in Fuchsia RS320, that’s one of a kind shade! I know people love Shu Uemura’s curler, but Shiseido’s curler suits my asian eyes better.
Rose Crush is definitely on my wishlist!
Happy to hear the Perfect Rouge formula is good, too!
These are gorgeous. I just had this thought, sort of silly and old-fashioned: “When you just want a pretty lipstick.”
That is a nice way to put it, Lauren 🙂
All three sound and look like winners to me. I especially love Bloodstone for the subtle shimmer but the other two are great.
They were all lovely!
Wow! All three of these are beautiful!
I totally agree with you, Rachel!
Rose crush looks like an amazing shade!
It is!
Wow, all three of these look great! After all the stellar reviews love got to try one, but the hard part is choosing! I’d get more use from a pinkish shade like rose crush or red queen, but bloodstone!! So pretty and the small amount of pearl would make it an easier red to apply & wear. (I think)
Lovely! Thank you Christine!
My pleasure, Bonnie! 😀
My two temptations from this line in one post — Red Queen and Bloodstone. [sigh] I was really hoping I had dupes. [double sigh]
Uh oh!
How do you compare this with Charlotte Tilbury hot lips line? Do these have the same hydrating and long weare effect as Charlotte Tilbury?
The Hot Lips shades cover two formulas, and the Matte formula is quite different, whereas the cream formula is also much glossier and heavier than these.
Thanks!
I like Rose Crush just a tad better than Red Queen, so wearable, lovely.
They are both easy to wear!
Bloodstone is a beautiful colour and the others look really moisturising and great for the lips.
It is very comfy to wear!
Seems like Shiseido really knocked it out of the park with this formula! Love Bloodstone.
They did a fantastic job!
They are beautiful, all three. I really like Bloodstone, I have dupes, but the finish is special, I think. I must swatch these, but I think Bloodstone is a must have.
The finish on these is my favorite part!
