Sephora Diamond Eyeliners Reviews, Photos, Swatches
Sephora Canary Diamond Eyeliner
Sephora Diamond Eyeliner ($14.00 for 0.0176 oz.) is a range that features black-based eyeliners with “ultra-reflective pearls” that are layered on top of a deep black. There are six shades in the range. It is a twist-up, very creamy, soft eyeliner that glides across the skin effortlessly and takes about thirty seconds to set. The wear ranged from eight to nine hours on the lower lash line for me.
Sephora Canary Diamond Eyeliner ($14.00 for 0.0176 oz.) is a blackened brown base with flecks of olive gold pearl and micro-sparkle. It had good color payoff in a single stroke, and the creamy consistency made it apply and layer well with no skipping or patchiness. It lasted for eight hours on me. MAC Black Line (P, $15.00) is less shimmery (95% similar). See comparison swatches / view dupes side-by-side.
Sephora Cushion Cut Diamond Eyeliner ($14.00 for 0.0176 oz.) is a cool-toned black base with lighter silver sparkle and a soft sheen. It had nice color payoff in one pass, while the texture was creamy, I could feel a little bit of the sparkle as I glided the pencil across the lash line. It lasted for eight and a half hours with a few bits of fall out. Urban Decay Oil Slick (P, $22.00) is less shimmery (90% similar). Sephora Black Glitter (P, $13.00) is less shimmery, lighter, cooler (90% similar). Urban Decay Black Market (P, $22.00) is less shimmery, cooler (90% similar). Urban Decay Uzi (P, $22.00) is less shimmery (90% similar). ColourPop From Downtown (LE, $7.00) is less shimmery, darker (90% similar). MAC Wet Road (P, $25.00) is less shimmery, darker (90% similar). MAC Black Swan (P, $15.00) is less shimmery, darker (90% similar). Chanel Noir Enigmatique (944) (P, $34.00) is less shimmery, darker (85% similar). MAC Dark Spark (LE, $16.00) is less shimmery, darker (85% similar). Maybelline Metallic Nights (P, $9.99) is less shimmery, darker (85% similar). MAC A Little Moonlight (LE, $22.00) is more shimmery, darker, cooler (90% similar). Fenty Beauty Black Card (P, $22.00) is less shimmery, darker, cooler (85% similar). Urban Decay Cosmic Speed (LE, $22.00) is less shimmery, darker (85% similar). Stila Triggerfish (P, $22.00) is lighter (85% similar). Sephora Clubbing Stilettos (02) (P, $11.00) is less shimmery, darker (85% similar). Sephora Starry Sky (DC, $10.00) is lighter (85% similar). ColourPop XOXO (LE, $7.00) is less shimmery, cooler (85% similar). See comparison swatches / view dupes side-by-side.
Sephora Phat Rock Diamond Eyeliner ($14.00 for 0.0176 oz.) is a blackened purple with lighter, violet purple pearl. It had semi-opaque coverage in one pass, while the creaminess of the pencil enabled it to layer well without becoming patchy or too thick. The color lasted for eight hours before noticeably thinning. Tom Ford Beauty Aurora (Shade) (LE, ) is less shimmery, lighter, warmer (90% similar). Charlotte Tilbury Supernova (LE, $27.00) is lighter (90% similar). NARS Night Bird (P, $24.00) is lighter, warmer (90% similar). Urban Decay Dragon Smoke (LE, $22.00) is more muted (90% similar). Urban Decay Delinquent (DC, $22.00) is more shimmery, warmer (85% similar). Sephora Tango Night (DC, $10.00) is warmer (85% similar). Stila Purple Tang (P, $22.00) is more shimmery, lighter, brighter (85% similar). See comparison swatches / view dupes side-by-side.
Sephora Bling Bling Diamond Eyeliner ($14.00 for 0.0176 oz.) is a blackened plum with lighter pinky-plum pearl. It had semi-opaque pigmentation in one stroke, which I was able to get to nearly opaque coverage, though it was always just shy of truly opaque coverage. On me, this shade wore well for eight and a half hours. Urban Decay Rockstar (P, $22.00) is cooler (85% similar). Marc Jacobs Beauty Boys & Berry (LE, $26.00) is lighter, warmer (80% similar). MAC Macroviolet (P, $16.00) is less shimmery, lighter, warmer (80% similar). MAC Strong Willed (P, $20.00) is less shimmery, lighter, warmer (80% similar). Tarina Tarantino Ultraviolet (DC, $15.00) is less shimmery, warmer (80% similar). See comparison swatches / view dupes side-by-side.
Sephora Swagga Diamond Eyeliner ($14.00 for 0.0176 oz.) is a blackened red with lighter, warm red pearl and micro-sparkle. It had semi-sheer pigmentation with a creamy, more emollient texture that seemed thinner and less intense compared to the other shades, so it was never fully opaque. The color started to thin on the lash line after eight hours.
Sephora Iced Out Diamond Eyeliner ($14.00 for 0.0176 oz.) is a blackened navy blue with lighter blue shimmer and micro-sparkle. It had semi-opaque coverage in one pass, which was a little uneven, but it was buildable to opaque coverage. This shade lasted well for eight hours before thinning. Urban Decay Goddess (PiP, $22.00) is less shimmery, cooler (95% similar). Sephora Midnight Blue (DC, $10.00) is less shimmery (95% similar). Marc Jacobs Beauty Navy Noir (76) (P, $26.00) is less shimmery, darker (95% similar). Urban Decay LSD (P, $22.00) is more shimmery, warmer (90% similar). Marc Jacobs Beauty Midnight in Paris (P, $26.00) is darker, warmer (90% similar). MAC Metalhead (P, $17.00) is less shimmery, darker, cooler (90% similar). Stila Bluefin (P, $22.00) is more shimmery, warmer (90% similar). Fenty Beauty Alien Bae (LE, $20.00) is darker, more muted (90% similar). Charlotte Tilbury Sapphire Sex (LE, $27.00) is less shimmery, darker (90% similar). ColourPop Outer Space (P, $7.00) is more shimmery, warmer (90% similar). MAC Midnight Toast (LE, $22.00) is more shimmery, darker, cooler (90% similar). MAC Petrol Blue (P, $15.00) is darker, cooler (85% similar). Sephora Sailor Suit (DC, $10.00) is lighter (85% similar). How do you feel these showed up from kinda far away? I’ve used similar liners that lost their effect in real life, but these seem to have a decent colouration to them.
Cushion Cut is really the only one that looks more black than anything else, but it does have a stronger sheen. The others have enough of the colored shimmer that they don’t just look like black eyeliners. Bling Bling is warm enough (at least on me) that it looks like a dark plum than a black eyeliner.
Canary is beautiful! And I have to say, I kind of love the names of these (except for Swagga, that one is trying a little too hard)!
They are fun 🙂
Ooooohhhh, these look great! So many glitter eyeliners do not have enough glitter in them to read sparkly, but these are super glittery!
They are! 🙂 I liked how it wasn’t super glittery either – a lot of finer pearl (easier to wear!) to amplify the base.
I might have to pick one of these up. I love the swatch from Iced Out. Very pretty.
They are!
I need all of these immediately.
Some of these were really interesting/unique (relative to what I’ve tried)!
OMG, CANARY!!!! I’m a total sucker for that blackened olive bronze color, LOVE the sparkles galore (adds 3 more hours of sleep to my eyes) , it will be in next Sephora order for sure!! I’m running low on eye makeup remover, so it will be soon. I hope (pray) it holds up on my oily lids, and if not, maybe it’ll give me a sexy, bedroom-eyes smudge, and not raccoon eyes. If that works out, Cushion Cut is next on the hit list. I like how the sparkles make it a softer black not so harsh-looking. Are these new?? How did I miss them?
Fingers crossed for ya, Katherine, but let me know how they hold up 🙂
They came out around the holidays!
I really like Cushion Cut. If Sephora was CF, I’d throw it my cart!
Aww, drat!
I have similar ones from MAC that I do like a lot, so I am excited to see a more budget friendly option.
What I like about these a bit more than the MAC ones is that they use finer shimmer to get the majority of the color, so I find them easier to wear if my eyes are watery!
I don’t use the MAC ones on my waterline due to the shimmer (I wear contacts and am paranoid of getting stuff beneath them), but I had no issues with them on my lower waterline.
That’s good to know they work well on watery eyes! 🙂
I usually don’t go crazy for glitter liners because they can irritate the heck out of my eyes, but I’ve been having very good luck with Sephora Contour Pencil in Fairytale. So now I am seriously looking forward to getting Canary and Swaga! I love that neither is an everyday, common shade, plus they both look look they’d be great for my eye color!
These might work! I find these use finer shimmer/sparkle overall than other shimmer+black eyeliners on the market.
I picked up Cushion Cut and Canary around the holidays when they were first released, and I really liked them! They added a little extra sparkle to my smoky holiday party looks without being over the top. I love the look of the others, as well, so eventually they’ll find their way to my cart, I’m sure.
Awesome to hear, Lacey! I love getting insight from others who have tried a product!
Canary and Iced Out are quite nice.
I agree 😀
Ooh! These are surprisingly nice! I’m gonna have to check these out next time I go to Sephora.
I hope you can swatch ’em sometime, Kimberly!
I really love these, but one thing that bothers me is how much the Sephora brand has raised in price. $5 more gets me a UD 24/7. It’s just not enough of a savings margin to make me feel like I’m being at all friendly to my budget.
I think ultimately it would come down to what performs better 🙂
They’re all pretty! I guess my top picks would be Canary, Iced Out, and one of the purple shades.
Canary is really good – and harder to dupe!
These are gorgeous. I especially like Canary and Swagga (stupid name, great color).
You don’t see too many red eyeliners!
Just love Canary and Iced Out the best. This is a gorgeous collection and I don’t think there has not been a dupe for anything – so Swagga must be such an original colour. Great ratings for such a reasonable and affordable price.
There are so few red eyeliners!
Canary is gorgeous!
It is! Very smooth, too.
Nice! Sephora Brand does it again! I like these. Easy way to pop in some excitement to a neutral look or to a colorful look 🙂
Agreed! 🙂 A nice take on black eyeliner – still intense but not just black!
I love Canary! Been looking for an eyeshadow like that-black with gold shimmer/glitter. Maybe this could work if I smudge out the line for a smoky look?
I bet it could work if you smudged – these are pretty creamy, so they are totally amenable to being smudged if you work with them before the set.
Sparkle, woot! I really like the look of these.
They’re fun!
I am a total sucker for super shimmery eyeliners. They really help brighten and open up my hooded eyes. I want them all.
Me too! I like how rich these all are.
Wow, I like all of these! I like how the glitter is even and strong but not garish. I’ll have to buy at least one in the next Sephora haul!
Let me know how you like it when you get a chance to try, Claire 🙂
There are some interesting colors in this line! Canary is definitely my favorite, but Swagga is really a unique shade. Not sure how I’d wear it (I usually avoid red around the eyes) but I bet it would make the green in my eyes pop!
Swagga is definitely the unique one here!
It’s cool that these reviewed well, and they look like a twist up! They seem like a slightly more shimmery version of some blackened colored Glimmersticks that Avon did. I actually somewhat recently used up an entire one of those–it was the only pencil I had near black in my daily bag that I didn’t have to sharpen! Of course, the Avon sounds cheaper out of the gate but it’s .01oz, so a bit smaller.
Yep, these twist-up (hence the smaller amount of product… always the tip off, lol), which is nice!
I have Canary and Bling Bling — love them!
Happy to hear it, Viki!!
Christine, do you think these are safe for the inner waterline?
I would doubt it, just because of the amount of shimmer in it, but I’m not sure.
I like how Sephora’s fake “swatches” in their website product pictures make Canary look like a straight up yellow gold. Did they even try? Good thing I saw your post, or I would have completely skipped these based on those Sephora pictures! Now I’m really interested to see how Canary and Swagga (can’t take that name seriously!) look on me. Added to my ever-growing shopping list:)
Phew! That’s why real swatches are important. At least it gives you some idea, lol!
Thanks, Meg!
This was my absolute favorite kind of product … when I was 14!
Oh, I see! Ah, well, I still love and I’m far from 14 now 🙂
Really liking Canary and Cushion Cut!
Me too! I am partial to Canary – love a black gold!
Definitely picking up Canary, and maybe a few others. I wish I could do red shades on the eyes because Swagga is so pretty but I’ve never been able to make it work.
Red can be a harder shade to wear on the eye!
I bought these a while ago from Sephora. They have a nice consistency, but I think for the way I line my eyes, the glitter just isn’t there. I was thinking about tapping some matching glitter over them while the liner is still a little tacky (like Violet Voss) and then sealing it.
I think it’s more of a pearly shimmer than overt glitter, so if you want more glitter, you’re definitely right that these might not be it for you!
Looks lovely! I might even get canary diamond.
Could you show a picture with one of them used in a makeup look? 🙂
I think some are floating on the site, but I don’t keep track very well when it comes to the eyeliner (the photos are associated with the eyeshadow that I reviewed).
Glad you got time to review these!
Me too!
Swagga is the standout for me, bc the color is so unique and awesome, but whyyyy did it have to be the worst performer???? Ah, life. Smh. May pick it up anyway.
It’s unique enough that I think it may be worth the effort 🙂
