Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche Lipstick

Bite Beauty Cotton Candy Amuse Bouche LipstickBite Beauty Cotton Candy Amuse Bouche Lipstick ($26.00 for 0.15 oz.) is described as a “blue-toned violet.” It’s a bold, bright cotton candy pink with strong, cool blue undertones and a satin finish. It had rich color payoff with a smooth, light-medium thick consistency that covered well and evenly. This shade wore for four and a half hours and was lightly moisturizing to me. Clinique Wow Pop (P, $19.50) is darker (95% similar). Bite Beauty Gin Fizz (DC, $26.00) is darker, more muted, less glossy (95% similar). NYX Summer Breeze (P, $6.00) is darker (95% similar). Bite Beauty Kimchi Amuse Bouche LipstickBite Beauty Kimchi Amuse Bouche Lipstick ($26.00 for 0.15 oz.) is described as a “shocking pink.” It’s a bright, medium fuchsia pink with cool, blue undertones and a semi-matte finish. It was intensely pigmented with a very lightly creamy texture that did pull a little at the lips due a firmer feel, but it didn’t drag or yield uneven color (just takes more pressure to apply). The color wore well for six and a half hours with a strong stain left behind. I found the formula neither drying nor hydrating on this shade. Kat Von D Backstage Bambi (P, $19.00) is darker, more muted (95% similar). Bite Beauty #092 (P, $18.00) is darker, more muted (95% similar). Bite Beauty Sangria Amuse Bouche LipstickBite Beauty Sangria Amuse Bouche Lipstick ($26.00 for 0.15 oz.) is described as a “rich fuchsia.” It’s a bright, medium-dark fuchsia pink with subtle, cool undertones and a satin finish. It’s the type of fuchsia that almost looks “warm” when you compare it to the average fuchsia-hued lipstick. The texture was lightly creamy, easy to apply, and comfortable to wear, while the color coverage was fully opaque. On me, it wore for six and a half hours and was a bit moisturizing overall. Bite Beauty Pink Lady (DC, $24.00) is darker (95% similar). Sephora Twolips (14) (P, $8.00) is lighter (95% similar). Bite Beauty Framboise (DC, $24.00) is darker (95% similar). Formula Overview

Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche LipstickBite Beauty Amuse Bouche Lipstick ($26.00 for 0.15 oz.) is supposed to have “bold, creamy color” with “extreme moisture, soft texture, and creamy wear.” The majority of the range is very pigmented–typically opaque with one pass–with a few shades being semi-opaque but usually buildable. All 34 shades are shimmer-free and vary being a soft satin finish to a natural finish (light shine but not glossy). The consistency is very lightly creamy to lightly creamyu with some shades requiring light-medium pressure and can pull the lip a bit when gliding it across the lips, though the color doesn’t appear ragged and the bullet itself doesn’t feel stiff (while other shades applied without tugging, so check individual shade reviews!) The majority of the shades I’ve tested have been lightly hydrating to non-drying and fairly comfortable to wear for the long-haul. They wear longer than average, from four to eight hours, depending on the intensity and propensity of the shade to stain.

In comparison to the Luminous Creme formula: The level of color payoff and lemony scent are the two things that are similar, but they feel quite different on. If you have drier lips and need the intense hydration that the Luminous Creme formula offered, I don’t know if you’re going to like these. The Luminous Creme formula had a thicker consistency with a very creamy texture that glided on and never tugged at all, and the thicker consistency paired with the glossier finish was more forgiving on lips as it didn’t emphasize lines, natural texture, dryness, or flaking. Some had issues with the Luminous Creme formula bleeding/feathering and shorter-wear due to the amount of slip (high), and the Amuse Bouche formula has much, much less slip, so the wear is longer. I didn’t typically experience bleeding/feathering with the Luminous Creme formula, and that is also true with Amuse Bouche, but I would expect less with this more satin-finish formula for most (but not all). The scent seemed slightly stronger in the Amuse Bouche range, but it wasn’t noticeable after I was done applying the color.

Sangria is so pretty!! I love the complexity of it! Also–I think I may have mentioned it before, but I LOVE how the MUFE foundation looks on you! The color and finish photograph beautifully. If you do decide to do another foundation review, I would love to read your thoughts on it!

Thanks, Julie! It doesn’t seem to suit my skin well at all in person – it either looks decent or horrible on me, unfortunately.

Everyone’s been raving about the MUFE Ultra HD, but I got several samples, and it either looks horrible or does nothing for me. Guess it’s not meant to be 🙁

Wow – thanks for your review. I had considered getting Cotton Candy but after seeing your swatches I think it’s too light for me. Kimchi has been in my cart for a while and I may get it. I hadn’t considered Sangria because of the description but after your swatch/review, I agree it looks like it leans warm – almost like a Watermelon. Surprisingly, out of these 3, I think it may be my fav. (And it looks great on you.) So, I think it’s probably going to be coming to my house sometime soon!

I can’t get away with these colors if my life depended on it, but glad it scored well for those who can pull them off 🙂

Sangria looks wonderfully wearable! Reminds me a bit of my MAC Diva-ish lipstick from last summer, which is one of those nicely warmer toned fuchsias.
I think Kimchi is also a lovely one, though perhaps a bit more difficult for me to pull off. Still easier, I would think, than Cotton Candy!
Leaving Cotton Candy alone.

Whoa… that Kimchi! I think that’s the most fluorescent lipstick I’ve ever seen. Considering I was surrounded by fluorescent colors in the 80s, that’s saying something! =)

The only one I would be tempted by would be Sangria, but I feel I have this territory well covered with the dupes… Bite Framboise, MAC Red balloon.. I’m good.

These are lovely! Especially Sangria.

On the other hand (and I realizing I’m picking nits) the only name I think fits is Cotton Candy. While I sort of get calling a shocking pink color Kimchi (more shocking than shocking pink because it’s Korean!), kimchi the food has these lovely bright brick red swirls/flakes (that KILL YOU when you eat them) and sangria the drink is a lighter, almost yellow-y, tinted, red wine color that’s somehow still cool (as opposed to warm). It just seems a shame to use these as names for colors that are fantastic, but, at the same time, fail to do their names justice.

*runs away now*

I really love it when a lipstick has such a memorable color name… But then I hate it when the color doesn’t live up to the name! I think ‘Kimchi’ would have been my pick for this summer if it had been a red or a coral instead of bright pink.

So pretty! Kimchi and Sangria might be really good colors for me — I’ll have to try them! (Cotton Candy might be a bit light for me.) I’m glad this formula is performing well overall so far 🙂

Anyone else flabbergasted that Kimchi is a fluorescent pink? I wouldn’t eat kimchi if it was that color ;P But I’ll probably grab the lipstick… same reason why I have to have MAC’s Sunny Seoul lipstick. I can’t quit the Korean in me!

Some of their names make no sense, lol! Even the photos they’ve posted on Instagram show that they are… inspired, maybe.
