Revlon Lilac Mist, Caramel Glace, Rose Velvet Super Lustrous Lipsticks Reviews & Swatches
Lilac Mist
Revlon Lilac Mist Super Lustrous Lipstick ($8.49 for 0.15 oz.) is a muted, medium-dark lavender with subtle, warm undertones and a luminous sheen. It had semi-opaque, buildable color coverage that went on fairly evenly, but it had enough slip that I felt like the edges had very subtle streaking that was visible. The lipstick had a lightweight texture that was emollient without being slippery, so it was comfortable to apply but didn’t slide around during wear. It lasted nicely for three and a half hours and felt moisturizing while worn.

Formula Overview
$8.49/0.15 oz. - $56.60 Per Ounce
The formula is supposed to have "lightweight color and moisturizing shine" with "buildable color payoff" and a "gliding, smooth application." It's a good formula for those who like medium, buildable coverage with a smooth, balmy consistency that glides across lips easily but doesn't feel too slippery while worn.
They're comfortable to wear with light hydration but tend to wear a shorter length of time--anywhere from two to four hours with a couple of shades reaching a little beyond four hours. What I like most about the formula is the finish: it's luminous and more smoothing, so it's kinder to lips with imperfection or prone to dryness/flaking. The formula has slip but doesn't have any heaviness or slickness that makes it prone to getting into lip lines.

Rose Velvet
Revlon Rose Velvet Super Lustrous Lipstick ($8.49 for 0.15 oz.) is a muted, coppery brown with warm undertones and a natural sheen. It had semi-opaque, buildable color payoff that adhered evenly and glided smoothly across my lips without tugging. The texture was lightly creamy, smooth, and wasn’t overly slippery, so it didn’t slide around while worn. It wore well for four and a half hours and was moisturizing while worn.

Pretty good lipsticks – I do like Caramel Glace. These are a great buy because on the dupe list they compare very favourably with Tom Ford’s range.
rose velvet is like my favorite lipstick of all time so i am so glad to see it here with a good review :)! caramel glace also looks really pretty as well
Oh yes, I want lilac mist!
All three of these have great quality and look lovely on, too. If I didn’t already have 2 dupes for Rose Velvet, I would absolutely buy that one! Same goes for Lilac Mist, I have UD Cruz, so no need.
I want to like Lilac Mist, but I know for sure it would look like death on me. I had Rose Velvet, but wound up giving it away. It’s a really nice shade, but, oddly, Revlon’s Super Lustrous lipsticks always seem to start to turn orange-y after an hour or so of wear on me. Can actually lipsticks oxidize on the lips?
I don’t see why it wouldn’t be possible!
I’ve just never read about that happening to anyone!
Oh, and I meant to write, “Can lipsticks actually oxidize on the lips”…I really have to read what I write before I hit “post comment”! Lol
Well, I read it that way, so we’re already on the same wavelength π
Just going through swatches and model photos, granted on-line through Amazon, and a lot of the shades in this range LOOK orange.. even the rose and pink shades. I donβt get it. I grabbed Lilac Mist.. perhaps embracing my inner goth. My hair is various shades of gray atm so, I think it will probably work. ?
I hope that shade looks great on you! ?
Lilac Mist isn’t the kind of lip look I go for, but I could probably be convinced to give Caramel Glace and Rose Velvet a try.
