Urban Decay Naked Heat Eyeshadow PaletteUrban Decay Naked Heat Eyeshadow Palette ($54.00 for 0.60 oz.) includes 12 eyeshadows with a mixture of shimmers and mattes in an array of warmer, more orange and red-based hues. The palette was good overall--not perfect--but a solid addition to the Naked range, and I suspect that for those who normally use primer, some of the issues I experienced would be resolved. The shimmers felt a little drier but thinner than the average shimmer eyeshadow from Urban Decay, while the mattes were dry but fairly pigmented, buildable, and blendable. It did not have the same luxurious, creamy consistency of the brand's best mattes (I'm recalling something like Spike) but much more pigmented with more substantial texture (and therefore better application, even without primer) than the mattes in the Naked Smoky palette.

From a personal view, I did struggle to use this palette cohesively; I felt like I needed stronger shimmers or maybe a stronger yellow or lighter, brighter orange to add more contrast. The deeper browns ran together to the point where they could get lost next to each other in practice. The overall look and feel of the palette is a deeper, almost sultry warm smoky eye with more orange-brown and red-brown shades. It's a lot less yellow and orange based compared to palettes like Viseart Warm Mattes and Natasha Denona Sunset, and it's much darker and warmer than Anastasia Modern Renaissance. It actually reminded me of Too Faced Sweet Peach more than the aforementioned palettes.

This is another of those pallets that just kinda blends everything into an ugly orange on my skin If I just use this by itself. When paired with another pallet, or with Super Shock Shadows, though, I can pull off some decent looks with it. It needs a primer to last any length of time on my lids. Formula seemed a little dry and powdery compared to other mid-range palettes I own, but its still easy to use and blend. The mattes are alright, but the shimmers are quite decent, especially Ember and Scorched.

I love love love this palette. Had it on my wishlist for ages, researching & reviewing the palette and despite the mixed reviews, I bit the bullet and bought it. Fantastic - wish I'd bought it sooner! The colours are right up my alley, warm browns and reds, and the matte-shimmer ratio is great. I can use the more neutral shades for an everyday work look, and the deeper colours on the weekend. The shadows blend really well but without losing their depth or pigment, and I say that as someone who really struggles to get an even blend. The tones are really flattering on me, and despite people claiming that loads of the colours look really similar, they do show up differently enough on the eye to make the price of the palette worth it. I have used this palette pretty much every day since I bought it, the packaging is sturdy enough that I can bash it around when I travel without damaging anything and I would absolutely recommend to other people.

Beautiful palette. I’m a sucker for nice packaging, and warm tones so inevitably I bought this. I’d say an eyeshadow primer is a must for those of you who don’t typically use one already, or if you have oily lids like myself. I wore it without and my shadow would fade and crease halfway through my shift (aprox 4-5 hrs). Please be aware that you can over-blend the pigments off (shades he devil and ashes). Texure wise, the mattes are a bit more powdery than buttery, so fallout can be a bit of an issue. The shimmers however are very buttery and pigmented.
