It had semi-opaque color in one go, but it wasn't very buildable as the consistency of this shade was drier than the rest, so it tended to skip and apply unevenly, which made layering the color difficult. Once on, the color did stay on well for eight and a half hours before starting to show signs of fading. Laura Mercier Violet (P, $24.00) is cooler-toned, less matte.
