MAC Lipstick comes in a variety of finishes, and the pigmentation and wear tend to be dependent on the finish. The sheer finishes, like Lustres, tend to wear for only a couple of hours and have sheer coverage (as designed) and are non-drying.

Some of the original Matte shades have a stiffer, drier formula, while newer ones have a more velvety, silicone-feel to them, and the latter are creamier, more comfortable to wear, and easier to apply, but most Matte shades are quite pigmented and long-wearing, though some are drying.

This color was beautiful in the tube, however went on my lips a much different color. After prepping and priming I applied the product. It was very pigmented but not near as dark of a shade as I expected. I've tried applying directly and also with a brush, I've used it with a M.A.C. primer and I've tried it with my Bite Beauty primer. I cannot get it to look even and I find it to be only semi-matte, and even after a powder sweep it is still extremely transferable. My search for the perfect fall color, to my dismay, shall continue.

The matte red of my dreams. This is limited edition, but it wears like a dream.

My everyday/go to lipstick. I think it works well with so many different eyeshadow colors. If I ever finish this I am going to buy a new one for sure.

I've become a purple freak... I've been collecting a couple of purple lipsticks from different brands for a while now (no dupes of course). But none is as versatile (for wearing) as this colour. You can wear this casually: at work, going to uni, preparing for an interview, while meeting friends, at a bar night out. It's just the perfect brightness and purply tone. It goes fantastic with nude, simple make-up look. It's extremely pigmented with one swipe and MOST IMPORTANTLY it doesn't feather/bleed over the lip line after application. It's lasts a damn long time/ isn't drying (like illamasqua lipsticks) too. I'm in the city for over 8 hours and I only re-apply lightly after a meal. It's now my casual go-to lipstick.

This is my first mac lipstick and I LOVE IT. It's a beautiful color for spring/summer, and the matte definitely doesn't feel uncomfortable at all. It's super easy to put on because it's so pigmented and creamy. It's so perfect! :) ♥

I lurve MAC lipsticks! Under the MAC Naturally Transformed lipstick review I have all of them besides Stone. I believed Stone might pull a bit grey on me (like Velvet Teddy did unfortunately), but brown/beige is my fave color for makeup (of all kinds! I'm a fan of brown lipliner, eyeliner, eyeshadow, hmmm I need a good brown waterproof mascara to replace my old WP Maybelline Great Lash!) so I'm a big fan of Naturally Transformed, Mocha, Taupe, Whirl, Persistence, velvet teddy, kinda sexy, Fleshpot, myth, Freckletone, bronze shimmer, et al. Hi this is my first review, here's to hoping it goes in the right spot! I love this site & I could browse it for hours. I'm a big fan, Christine! MAC (& Chanel) are my fave lippies. I highly rec'd MAC lipsticks. The price pointe is okay, quality is gr8 & color selection is wonderful! I have about 75 MAC lippies (Lipsticks/Lipglasses) so I'm a bit of a hoarder :) the only MAC lipsticks I ever returned were VG Nicki 2 & Ariana Grande out of many happily forked over money to MAC. I love MAC! Truly makeup for folks who love makeup!!

Really nice color however the texture was terrible!!! Its one of those colors that is very summer without being too coral or pink, its in that perfect in between which is why I brought it!! But as I said the texture makes me regret purchasing, it went on dry and turned almost flakey with in hours, which was surprising since Mac's lipsticks are usually amazing! Overall I would not recommend without a gloss, which being a matte lipstick shouldn't be the case!

I expected a darker red, but when I tried it on, I LOVED IT! It´s the perfect fall/winter red, the berry undertone looks really flattering, and it makes it look quite vampy but it is definitely an everyday red color. The formula is matte, it lasts for a long time, and because it leaves a stain you truly never have to reapply it, it is not dry nor hydrating, it´s perfect! The formula is kind of the same as Rebel by Mac, since you can build up the color, or leave a wash of color on the lips, and it´ll leave a stain, however this is a lot more pigmented that Rebel.

I really love this color, but am giving it 3 stars because after wearing it for two hours, it was removed from my lips and only outlined them in this awful flakey purple residue. I haven't had this problem with my other Mac lipsticks. Maybe I should use a lip primer next time? I really want it to work- just be aware to check it so you don't end up looking embarrassing at work like me : )

A classic lip colour. I love this colour, despite the fact that it is a cool red and I have strong yellow undertones. It is highly pigmented and once on, it does not budge. It is slightly drying, but that's nothing a little balm can't fix. I think this is one of those universal reds that will look great on anybody. And I much prefer it over Ruby Woo. If you are a newbie to MAC lipsticks, I would definitely recommend this one to start with!

This is an amazing colour. I believe it is one of the Mattes. Either way, it is one of those brick-orange reds that is perfectly suited to dark-skinned ladies. Since it is a Matte, it is fairly drying and causes my lips to flake. The colour is well-worth it thought and the wear-time is great!

honestly, this is one of my go-to essentials in my makeup kit - it's quite versatile depending on skin tones and can range from subtle (well as subtle as bright-ish purple can be on lips) to super bright. it's very creamy and goes on smooth, although sometimes it feels kind of thick. it's not the sticky type of thick, so that's a plus. it smooths my dry-ish lips, and makes it feel soft and supple-y. in the heat here it manages to hold on, as i wore this shade for a dance. i wore it for 3+ hours, and it stayed on. like, it was clinging to my lips the whole event. there was obvious transfer on the glass of water, but it didn't feel or look splotchy. it's quite pigmented, as one run through my lips was quite opaque. IMO, this is a great starter lipstick for a person who likes edgy yet wearable lips. price *might* be an issue for some, but TBH it's a really good value. it's part of the permanent line-up, so you can get it anytime!

My HG vivid red, there is nothing like this. It brightens up my entire face and is my most complimented lipstick I've ever worn, it's velvety, and has zero stickiness. That being said... this is not a luscious creamy lipstick (think the opposite of Bite or Too Faced). I constantly moisturize my lips and apply heavy lip balm every night, so I rarely run into drying issues with any of my lipsticks. This can be drying if I reapply during the day (which is not often). I also haven't had tugging or dragging problems during application.

This lipstick is gorgeous a typical cool-toned blue barbie pink that I love. I recommend this lipstick for anyone who wants to try something different or who loves barbie pink lips. This is a colour from MAC that I will keep repurchasing. The colour pay off is really good and it lasts quite a while but because it is an amplified creme finish it makes your teeth look a little yellow. The lipstick is scented with the typical MAC lipstick scent. The only cons of this lipstick is that they make your teeth a little yellow. I really do recommend this lipstick but not everyone can pull it off. The packaging is typical MAC packaging it is very durable and strong although the lids do come off quite easily.

This is an amazing lipstick. The colour is absolutely gorgeous but it isn\'t for everyone. The colour is to bright for some and some people just can\'t wear colours like this. For me this colour looks really good on and is just amazing. The packaging isn\'y flimsy, which is good and the rest of the collection I didn\'t try but this lipstick is good if you want to try something different although it is discontinued.

This was my first MAC lipstick, ever. I combine this lipstick with the MAC lipliner, Cherry, and it looks absolutely stunning together. I am in love with this shade of red. It lasts forever and makes your teeth look whiter because of the blue undertones in the lipstick. This is a highly recommended lipstick by me - even though if you have Ruby Woo or MAC Red :)

Great on my dark neutral skin tone for everyday wear. A mix of brown, peach and red. It's nude enough for daytime office wear yet pops out a little due to its unique color. Applies well on my dry lips and is slightly moisturizing despite of matte finish.

With my olive complexion, this lipstick shade gets me lots of compliments. Prior to applying lipstick, I do dab a little vaseline & pat the rest off with a napkin before applying. This helps counter the drying effects of this matte lipstick. I do love this color.

It's From Dama Edna collection, launched a lot of years ago but I'm still a huge fan! The texture is like a semi matte, because it's not too dry. And the color is the most beautiful magenta ever made. Please MAC bring it again!

This really is a MLBB shade for me. It is just a tad peach and the right amount of pink. I just wish it was more long-lasting. (It wears for 2 hours on me)

I'm still learning about the right coloring for skintone and whatnot, but I really love this color. It is the perfect pink for me and lasts surprisingly long even compared to other MAC lipsticks.

I saw this lipstick in a blog once I passed a long time wanting it, and now that I have I can say that it's a very weird lipstick. But I like it. At first the orange tone is a little bit off, but not enough neon, a very cold color, but then you blend it a little bit and pink comes out - and in pictures it looks great! So I'd say this color is on the orange-pink verge, very unique. As I said, it's a nice lipstick for when you are going to take lots of pictures.
