The formula is supposed to have "high impact" in a "single swipe" that's longwearing, "won't crease, fade or transfer" and "dries down to a powder finish with zero fall out." These are water-based, so they feel wet and cooling when initially applied, but the reality is that so little product is needed to get coverage on the lid that I didn't feel it was watery or thin when I actually patted it onto my lid with a brush.

I would recommend using less than you think you'll need, and while fingertips can be used to apply, I liked the control of flat, synthetic brushes gave me as fingertips (for me!) applied far more product than needed. If you over-apply, it can feel wet and take longer to dry down, and it ends up taking too long and can pull into creases/fine lines on the lid. If I used... Read More.

If I used about what I needed (there was some wiggle room), it dried down quickly and set to a transfer-resistant/crease-resistant finish. It was harder to blend out once dry, though, and if I wasn't careful, more vigorous blending could disturb and cause the eyeshadow to flake slightly.

They are easier to use than they look, and I think they're quite good overall, though a couple of shades were less stellar. They have a high-shine finish, though I think the more metallic powder and cream eyeshadows give a similar look that I wasn't convinced that the finish on these was above and beyond products that might be easier to use/more user-friendly. I'm not sure that the pot was the best way to go, as the product dries out extremely quickly; to the point where I would advise closing the product after you've taken product out of it, don't let it sit open while you're applying the rest of your makeup--you will see and feel parts of it dry out.

I found the packaging to be rather messy, and I have bits of product along the edge of the jar, along the rim, and it's fiddly to move the stopper from the opening to the lid and back again. I wonder if a squeeze tube might be less messy and make it easier to control the amount of product picked up while also preventing the product from drying out too readily.

WARNING: This formula seems to dry out within months; some readers report a couple of months and others more like a six-month window. I don't keep the majority of cream-based products (since I don't return to most products after reviewing), including these, but of the few I still have, there is a definite change in consistency--slightly drier--after six months, sometimes more or less. I had a couple that were closer to the year mark, and one was still usable but the other was quite dried down.

Following up on my previous review - gorgeous as a fresh shadow, but all of mine TOTALLY dried out. Better to invest in powder, duo/multichromes in powder form, these have no lasting power. Super disappointed!

These dry out in six months, even with religious adherence to shutting the jar tight after every use. Then they're unusable.

This shade is pretty much exactly how it's pictured and described here on Temptalia. The shimmer is very find and it doesn't look glittery at all! I also had an easy time blending this with other products. However this will never be a repurchase from me. Why? barely 4 months have passed: The product is COMPLETELY DRIED OUT...and crumbly!!! I have super shock shadows from 2 years ago that are still wet! I kept this in the box and in a dry place 24/7. It's a beautiful shade but BE WARNED... it doesn't last long and only worth the price if you use it every week. Also used setting sprays to re-hydrate it, Doesn't work.

AMAZING most multi-dimensional, easy-to-use eyeshadow. One layer over my lid and it looks like I used at least 3 shadows, just amazing <3 Lasts forever, doesn't crease.

I own Half Moon, Short Circuit, and Bungalow. Half Moon is my favorite, as its a duochrome. This is a "jelly" eyeshadow, but its more like a liquid, but in a pot. It sets very quickly, so blending is difficult, even though application is as simple as swiping some on with a finger or brush. Clean up can be easily achieved with a qtip and some water. Wear time can be a little tricky. If I use these by themselves, I can get 8+ hours of no creasing, flaking, or fading. If I layer shadow over them, or layer another jelly shadow over them, they begin to flake off almost immediately. These shadows do not play well with other shadows! They look great on their own though, or layered OVER other eyeshadows. These do dry out quickly, but adding a few drops of tap water, closing the lid and the cap, and shaking it up very good will bring these back to life.

This is one of the most beautiful shadows I've ever used from CP! It's so dimensional, and much more red/blue than it looks online. When my partner bought it, we thought it would be more purple, but it comes off very red with loads and loads of blue flashes. Perfect for one shadow looks, and requires so little of the product. As far as application, it's kind of strange. The texture is very jelly-like and wet, as expected, but best applied to the lid in layers with fingers and blended out with a brush. I take just a little from my finger on the brush to make it a nice gradient. And removal is literally the easiest thing in the world. No staining, no tugging, no oils needed. Wipes off very easy with water--so be careful of tears with this formula!

The color is absolutely stunning - a kind of duochrome burgundy/plum with subtle gold reflects. It looks beautiful on the eyes and is saturated with pigment. That said, it’s an absolute mess working with it. The plastic jar has a cap insert that holds the product inside, and when you peel that off to open the jar, the product is everywhere - with a large amount smeared on the bottom of the cap, and all around the jar rim. It also sets almost immediately, so you have to blend the edges quickly. I had it all over my brush and my hands, and it required significant clean-up. It’s not like the Super Shock Shadows, which you can throw in your purse, apply with fingers, and have an interesting look out on the go, without a mess. It’s just not my favorite formula, despite being such a beautiful color, given that it’s such a high-maintenance product.
