Pat McGrath Flesh 3 LiquiLUST Matte Lipstick ($30.00 for 0.17 oz.) is a deep, reddish-brown with subtle, warm undertones and a flat, matte finish. It had rich pigmentation in a single layer of product, though the formula’s consistency made it so a little went a longer way than average.
The texture was smooth, fluid, and easy to work with along the edges of my lips. It dried down very quickly and was budge-proof but somewhat flexible, which made it more comfortable to wear. This shade stayed on nicely for over six hours, left a faint stain behind, and felt neither drying nor hydrating over time.

The formula is supposed to have opaque coverage in a "single swipe" that feels "lightweight" and leaves lips looking "smooth." The formula was opaque in a single layer, and the product applied fairly evenly and smoothly to my lips, but it didn't always dry down in the most flattering way. Sometimes, the set result emphasized my lip lines.
The texture was lightweight, creamy, and more fluid--but not heavy--so there was more product on the doe-foot applicator that I found was needed for one application. I noticed that the product seemed to soften and look smoother as I wore it, which was nice as it had a nice, gradual wear-down that was more and more flattering rather than wearing off strongly around the center of my lips. They lasted between five and six hours and felt lightly drying over time. I didn't notice any scent.

Pat McGrath Elson 4 LiquiLUST Matte Lipstick ($30.00 for 0.17 oz.) is a rich, deeper red with cool, blue undertones and a flat, matte finish. It had semi-opaque, buildable color coverage that applied fairly evenly, though as it dried down, it was more prone to emphasizing my natural lip texture.
The consistency was fluid, more substantial without feeling heavy, but I found the applicator tended to over-apply product if I wasn’t careful to remove some excess on the edge of the tube when I pulled the applicator out. It wore well for over six hours, left a stain behind, and felt non-drying.

I’m really glad that Flesh 3 did so nicely, because that shade would so fill a need in my stash for a vampy brown-red that would endure the on again off again applying of my mask!
I love the shade colour of Flesh 3, but it does look so dry on your lips though.
Ooh I can’t wait to get Elson 4!! Elson lipstick is currently my top red. I love cool toned blue based reds!!
