Pat McGrath Blow Up, Love Supreme, & Succexy Lip Fetish Sheer Colour Lip Balm Reviews & Swatches
Blow Up
Pat McGrath Blow Up Lip Fetish Sheer Colour Lip Balm ($38.00 for 0.12 oz.) is a soft, peachy coral with warm undertones and a soft, natural sheen. It had sheer to semi-sheer coverage with a noticeable warmth and tint added to my lips. The color applied evenly and didn’t emphasize my lip lines. The texture was lightweight, smooth, and lightly creamy without being slippery, but it also didn’t feel too thin. It felt smoother without the wetness often associated with more balm-like products. It wore well for three hours and was moisturizing to wear over time.

Formula Overview

The new Sheer Colour finish on the Lip Fetish Lip Balm formula is designed to have a "tease of color" with a "lightweight veil of hydration." The balm has a smooth consistency that glided across my lips without tugging but did not feel overly slippery or wet like some balm-like formulations can.
I felt like this made it easier to apply them evenly and had them wear decently--anywhere from two to four hours--and I found that a couple of them stained my lips lightly (most notably, Passion Flower looked significantly pinker on my lips, and it also stained my hand pink when I tried swatching it again to verify!).
I found the formula to be moderately moisturizing with coverage that ranged from sheer to medium with the deeper shades having more noticeable color and coverage. I didn't detect any scent or taste to these.

Love Supreme
Pat McGrath Love Supreme Lip Fetish Sheer Colour Lip Balm ($38.00 for 0.12 oz.) is a soft, light-medium pink with subtle, warm undertones a fine, dusting of gold micro-shimmer. The consistency was smooth, lightly creamy without feeling “wet” or too slippery on my lips, yet it wasn’t tacky and sat well on my lips without getting into my lip lines. The color coverage was sheer, as anticipated, and applied evenly across my lips. It stayed on well for three hours and was hydrating while worn

Succexy
Pat McGrath Succexy Lip Fetish Sheer Colour Lip Balm ($38.00 for 0.12 oz.) is a medium coral with warm undertones and a natural sheen. It had semi-sheer pigmentation that applied fairly evenly across my lips, but it seemed to enhance the unevenness present in my natural lip color so it did not look as even (but I think that the product itself was even). The consistency was lightweight, lightly creamy, thin without being clingy, and comfortable to apply and to wear. It lasted well for three and a half hours and was hydrating over time.

Yep. Got the nude trio and flesh 5. Usually I wait for your reviews, but with Pat McGrath I just can’t control myself. She can do no wrong!! Glad to see these are performing so well. I feel like they’re slightly more pigmented than a typical balm, but they wear beautifully and feel so comfortable. Lovely review Christine.
While I am willing to pay the money for her lipsticks, I cannot justify the cost for a sheer lip balm.
Packaging is cute, but this looks like tinted Chapstick for $38
These are so refined. Who knew PMG was an Antonioni fan?…I doubt she’s fetshizing here. And a John Coltrane classic, no less. That does not surprise me at all. Shade names are always so interesting and telling.
They’re all very pretty. I love sheer lipstick and tinted lip balms, and in my experience, I have found there can definitely be a difference in quality between HE and DS. My favorite here is Succexy, but fortunately, I have (and love) MAC See Sheer, so money saved.
My personal favorite shade of the three would wind up giving me the same issues you faced with it, because I have somewhat uneven lip color, too. And I really do like Succexxy a bunch! But I would have to use a coat of Nyx Ever SLP under it to make it look the way I want it to. Better off getting MAC See Sheer!
I get a solid combination of hydration and color when I layer lipsticks over Jack Black balm, so I might be able to stand strong here. Depends on the colors, maybe, or how I feel when I see them in store.
I received Love Supreme and Ultra Vixen yesterday. Although I like all of my Pat McGrath purchases, I am not blown away by these. I thought they would be glossier, but the finish reminds me of Bobbi Brown Crushed lip color. I have several of those, and they have a wider color range, and are $9 less expensive than the Pat McGrath ones.
Very pretty, but I think these are easily dupable shades from ColourPop at a fraction of the cost.
I would pay for Pat McGrath since I know the outcome is amazing. But a lip balm for $38 is too much IMO.
These look nice but $38 seems overpriced for a lip balm. I love Pat McGraft’s stuff but I couldn’t pull the trigger on these. Enjoying my PM Nude Astral Fetish Lip Balm I picked up doing the Sephora sale a lot! Maybe I’ll get a couple of these when I can catch a sale.
I see on Pat’s website that the Lip Fetish Lip Balms are listed as Limited Edition. Are all of the shades limited? I’m especially wondering about the shade Love Supreme.
