NARS Done It Again, Walk This Way, American Woman Powermatte Lip Pigments Reviews, Photos, Swatches
Done It Again
NARS Done It Again Powermatte Lip Pigment ($26.00 for 0.18 fl. oz.) is a deep brown with warm, red undertones and a semi-matte finish. It had semi-opaque color payoff that applied fairly evenly, though there was a smidgen of color that settled into my lip lines. This shade took over an hour to look more matte (the photos were taken after a half hour) and was tackier compared to most shades in the range, though the color did not lift at least! It had a fluid consistency that was thin and spread easily across the lips. This shade wore well for five hours and was neither drying nor hydrating.
The new formula is described as “liquefied pigments with infinite matte color saturation for lasting, weightless wear.” It’s supposed to have “full coverage in one swipe” that “dries down instantly” for “smudge-resistant, carefree wear.” The formula has a very fluid consistency that is thin, smooth, but not at all watery, and the majority of shades were nearly opaque or opaque in a single layer. The dry down started quickly but was forgiving as I maneuvered around the edges of the lips but remained a bit tacky when I pressed my lips together for over a half hour later, though as long as I did not press my lips together until five minutes post-application, the color did not lift. I have found the wear to be comfortable so far–non-drying–but not the longest-wearing nor the most budge-proof in liquid lipstick, as just sipping water, tea, or coffee caused color to transfer onto my cups. There was plenty of coverage, so it still lasted through drinking but did start to break down noticeably during a meal. Even just touching the color after a half hour of wearing it yielded color on my fingertips. The formula had a soft, vanilla scent but no discernible taste.

Walk This Way
NARS Walk This Way Powermatte Lip Pigment ($26.00 for 0.18 fl. oz.) is a medium, pink-coral with warm undertones and a matte finish. It had rich color payoff that applied evenly to bare lips, but the more fluid texture seemed to dry down and emphasize the natural texture and lines on my lips. There was a light tackiness to it after it had mostly dried, and it took over an hour before it was more of a flat matte finish. Luckily, there was no color that lifted despite the tackiness. It lasted for five hours and was neither drying nor hydrating over time.

American Woman
NARS American Woman Powermatte Lip Pigment ($26.00 for 0.18 fl. oz.) is a medium, pinky mauve with subtle, warm undertones and a matte finish. The pigmentation was nearly opaque, while the consistency was smooth, fluid without being too thin or watery, and spread well across the lips for even coverage. After it dried down, there was slight “cracking” at my deeper lip lines, though it wasn’t too noticeable from a normal viewing distance. It wore well for five hours and was non-drying.

I’m letting my ardour cool on these. Many sold out on big S. I could have acted earlier with Rouge status, but chose not to. The more I look at these, the more I realize there is no magic here (other than clever names). Love when I get all sensible.
I’m surprised they actually sold out?! I wonder if it’s just a soft/limited release for Rouges.
Done It Again is giving me flashbacks of the ’90s!
Hopefully, that’s a good thing… 😉
American Woman is my favorite shade in the launch, nice to see it performed well enough!
Nice pick, Lulle!
These look very drying to me, but the colour range is good.
Surprisingly, they are quite comfortable to wear!
Done It Again looks AMAZING with your eye color! I have a similar eye color and I think I might have to pick this one up, even though it’s not my usual kinda shade.
Let me know if you try it, Emily!
Because of dupes, money saved. I *should* be happy, right? But nope. I really wanted “Walk This Way”, as I’m a huge Aerosmith fan, but I have CP Chandelier, so. Also have MAC Mehr for American Woman. That I can live with, though.
Awww! 🙁
I really like Walk This Way and American Woman. And I don’t own any dupes of those.
Nice! Finally a few shades that would be more unique to your stash!
I’m glad these aren’t drying, these colors might not work for me though.
