Maybelline Fiery Fuchsia Color Sensational The Loaded Bolds Lip Color ($7.49 for 0.15 oz.) is a bold, bright medium-dark fuchsia with subtle, cool undertones and a satin finish. It had good pigmentation that applied fairly evenly–there was some slip to the formula that left very, very subtle streaks around the edge, but I did not find these to be noticeable to my eye when looking at myself in a regular mirror. The texture was creamy enough to glide on but didn’t slide around when worn. It wore well for six hours, left a stain behind, and was neither drying nor hydrating. It had semi-opaque color payoff, so some of the natural lip color can influence the end result, particularly if your lips are darker or more saturated. The texture was lightweight, slightly less creamy than the other shades in the range, but it still applied evenly. This shade lasted for five hours on me and was neither drying nor hydrating. It had semi-opaque pigmentaiton that applied unevenly and looked patchy on the lips. The color had moderate slip, which caused some of the color to gather into lip lines as well. This shade lasted for four hours and was neither drying nor hydrating. I would also be concerned it could be prone to feathering on some (it did not for me). FORMULA OVERVIEW | Maybelline Color Sensational The Loaded Bolds Lip Color ($7.49 for 0.15 oz.) is a new set of shades that’s supposed to have “one-stroke intensity” in an “opaque, creamy clay base.” For the most part, the shade range is mostly opaque to fully opaque with some falling short with semi-sheer to semi-opaque, more uneven coverage. The texture is smooth, creamy, lightweight, and it glides on without tugging or dragging; some shades feel more satiny while others have a bit more slip. Unfortunately, some of the ones in this review were particularly slippery, which made them harder to apply evenly. I’m a fan of the Color Sensational formulas, but the one thing that I’m not a fan of (and that can be a deal-breaker) is the scent, which is a very strong, sweet, lightly perfume-y scent that lingers and sometimes tastes soapy.

Even though I very happily have at least one dupe per shade, I really love how lovely the first 3 look applied. However, I cannot help but feel a certain level of disdain that almost no one can formulate a truly great deep, berry-purple lipstick! So I feel pretty bummed over Blackest Berry. Sometimes it seems that only MAC has succeeded at it with Smoked Purple.
It’s tough, haha! I think perhaps the best have been in mostly liquid form?
True. I forgot how well my 2 deep shades of Ofra and 2 deep ones in Colourpop Satin have applied. All beautifully compared to standard lipsticks.

I absolutely adore vampy colors on the lips, and was so excited about this lipstick when I got it off the shelf! However, the application was terrible, regardless of how well you apply the lipstick and your lips are taken care of.

One is in direct light, one is in indirect light – the idea is “here’s a shot in great lighting/sunlight” vs. “here’s one in a more normally lit-room/shade”.
