I had high hopes for this lipstick, since I generally like taupe lipsticks and it looked so pretty on Christine in the review. But for some reason, this color reads gray and muddy on my lips, like clay. Ugly gray clay. I've tried it on a dozen times with different makeup, in different lighting, but it just makes me look dead. I gave it three stars because the formula is nice and it looks great on other people. Just not me. :( Did anyone notice that this color is actually called "Gone Griege"? I wonder if the misspelling was intentional!!!

I just don't know... The way you describe the black is exactly how I feel about the Midnight Blue. Wow what a gorgeous color but even with my go-to primer under it, it slipped around terribly and I could not get it to look even. I'm going to try it again tomorrow with liners and my entire arsenal of lipstick perfecting products, but I think this one may be going back to the store ? shame because I really truly wanted it to work out. It was so sheer, I wouldn't even call it buildable because it just smudges around the more you try to layer it, blotting it just made it smear as well.

Excellent product. Good value, and a formula that stays creamy and non-drying. It's highly pigmented and buildable - apply lightly for a bright mauve that looks like Christine's swatch. Apply heavily for a very taupey mauve color that looks more like Colourpop's Lumiere or Stingraye. It looks more taupe at first, but a dark pink stain sets in that makes it brighter pink. It's a very trendy color that goes on smoothly, and I would buy this product again.
